I first met Helen in 1987 she was doing a pop concert at my local Theatre great night then met her after the show such a lovely lady so every time she came to my neck of the woods i would go and see her loved the jazz shows she did with Humpfrey Littleton but then came along the Gospel!!!! I went to a few but really not my thing and especially after the evenings trying to convert me i felt so uncomfortable i saw her during her farewell tour retiring from showbiz took my Mum and a friend and his Mum lovely night until the Gospel stated it put such a dampner on what until then was a lovely evening refused to talk about her 1960s stardom saying that was such a long time ago and should be forgotten!! Mum is the same age as Helen but never liked her much in the 60s a few hit records then she was forgotten by the mid 60s she told me i never went to anymore Gospel i love the 60s Helen but this mumbo gumbo you can keep definitely not for me!!!! 😔
