Thank you Wynand for such a wonderful song (the chorus has been stuck in my head for days)! The little bunny really got me too. I love to see other creatives make songs with a beautiful message to help someone else. Love is healing!!

Therapist & Recording Artist reacts to Hi Ren!
มุมมอง 46Kหลายเดือนก่อน
WARNING: Difficult topics and content Link To Original Video - th-cam.com/video/s_nc1IVoMxc/w-d-xo.html Thanks for watching my first video! Every time I watch this performance by Ren, it's amazing what new things are noticed. A music genius for sure. Can't wait to see more by him! Dr. Olympia Papageorgiou, PsyD, is a provisionally licensed Psychologist with her Doctorate in Psychology and is al...
Why does the land of free speech immediately turn into children when faced with any adult word no matter how minor… can’t follow a channel or even like a video if they censor for no reason. Something tells me she’s the type of therapist he’s talking about in sickboi. ☠️🤡☠️🤦♀️🙅♀️🤷♀️
Yeah... This one, my 1st listen was a real kick nackers...😯
This is the most honest version of our self-criticism I've ever heard. In Ren We Trust.
Then there's sick boi. Also his group "The Big Push." So, we've been given Freddie Mercury, Prince, Led Zeppelin, Dio, Pantera, Behtoveen, Bach, etc. Now we have to add Ren to that category. It's emotion we all feel, but was never talked about. Honestly, "Power" by Ren is one of my favorite he's done. Genius at work.
This seems to be a new page, starting with reacting to Ren. I'm 41 and have dealt with a lot of, let's call them individually specific situations. We all know life isn't perfect. Ten has opened my understanding of the things I've felt, while not having a way to verbalize it. Your next reaction video should be the tale of Jenny, screech and violet. I could go on, but Ren needs to go down in the history of humanity, as one of the best artists of all time. Time periods and accessibility aside, Ren's lyrics could touch 7 and a half of the 8 billion people on earth's souls.
Yeah music is the outlet to cope with all the bullshit throw at him. Turning crap into gold.
you have to react to linkin park songs, especially ones like breaking the habit, given up or one more light, chester was their lead vocalist and suffered from depression but he helped a lot of people with his music
Thank you for the recommendations!
A reactor did a reaction to your reaction. lol. You came out unscathed and appreciated. th-cam.com/video/Gfsz2w5MQHk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Cr07oyRoCpwgeoPZ
Oh I believe that is @DrDanielleCrane ! She has done a couple of reactions to Ren so far too!
@ sorry for missing up my docs, don't worry you're my favorite. 😉
And now tell me how to deal with my kids not being as blown away by rent as I am! 😅
I respect this for a reason most would not. If you claim (not yourself solely but collectively and professionally,) to be a mental health professional and get broken down crying at this video it's not a great sign. I can see where those who should be helping others fail extraordinarily with exposure of their own issues publicly. That wouldn't give me hope of how they maintain themselves privately. In order to dig into someone's mind and help, I feel like you should have a strong enough mind to not show weakness yourself. Am I crazy to think this? I'm not saying a mental health professional cannot have feelings...that would be absurd. What I'm saying is too many are publicly crying and letting this song get into their heads when reacting and it's not a great look if that is a mind to help another's that's been labeled "broken."
RENegade here, showing up for Hi Ren, subbed for your Ren journey. 😊 Much love! 💞
Thanks for joining me!
Hello and welcome to the RENiverse, Dr. Olympia. Let me introduce you to... Ren Gill, he is a 34 year old Welsh native (Wales from the United Kingdom, specifically from the Island of Anglesey off the northwestern coast of Wales) and currently resides in Brighton, England (a southern English Channel beach town with an insanely active busking [live street performing] scene). He has been performing since he was 12 years old. He is entirely self-trained. He speaks native Welsh, English, French, and I do believe a bit of Italian, IIRC? He is exceptional at the guitar, piano, and vocalisation. He is a totally independent artist who has no record label to represent him or, more importantly, control him. He is a rapper, a multi-instrumentalist, a producer, a singer-songwriter, a composer, and truly the definition of genre-less. He can do any genre, produce any sound or beat, and he can do it all for nothing. No song is like another, no beat is the same, no way to judge anything based on what each song is. Again, it must be repeated: he is SELF-trained and has never had formal training for his music or productions. At the age of 19, he contracted Lyme Disease from a tick bite he received while on a trip with his friends. He was misdiagnosed with depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic fatigue syndrome, which led to severe psychosis, for several years until he was properly diagnosed by a Swiss physician. Due to not receiving the appropriate treatment for Lyme Disease within the very short time frame after contraction, the disease has ravaged his body and mind, causing permanent brain damage, severe issues with digestion, sleep, nerves, and various other health problems. It caused him horrendous, chronic, violent pain to the point of being bedridden for years. Music is the reason he has survived. I'd like to provide some cultural context for this artist from another extremely talented artist: This is what the Irish folk rock artist Sinead O’Connor posted on social media after watching Hi Ren: “Holy motherfuckin SHIT! Someone just showed me this at the weekend. This Archangel from like, twelfth heaven or somewhere, has only gone and made the entire history of songwriting and performing look like a three year old's birthday party at Burger King. Every song and or artist in history even Willie Dixon, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, NWA, Ice Cube, and even Bob Dylan, is officially relegated to class B. As are every actor in history or legend: living or dead, male or female. We all are now defunct." Posted on May 17th, 2023, 2 months before self-deletion in July 2023. I recommend watching Sick Boi, Troubles, and the 'Chapters' from his RenMakesStuff (BTS channel for Ren) for a much deeper comprehension of his journey. Hi Ren was recorded live in the basement of an apartment building in Brighton, England. It was literally a crew of five people, cost 50 quid (~$62) to make, and the audio is entirely one take. The video is spliced across four one takes. It is recorded live with a lavalier lapel microphone, a portable guitar amp and recording device, three cameras, and Ren's laptop. He rehearsed this piece literally thousands of times before he even recorded the music video to provide certainty that he would get the guitar notes perfectly and his delivery as perfect as possible. This piece is a very personal one for Ren and was the first time in his musicianship to properly acknowledge his ailment, his journey, and his issues musically. He has hinted at it in all of his previous works prior to it, but this was the first time it was out in the open, purposefully. The 'Pig' from the beginning is an essential symbol in the RENiverse and appears in many, if not most, of his other music videos and media. It represents the corrupted and abused systems of the world that take and take and take and never give back to the people they are supposed to support: medicine, music, finances, trade, commerce, government, etc… There are actually four characters in this piece: the yodeller at the beginning and end (representing a call to aspirations), self (the calm and soft one on the 'right'), doubt (the 'evil' one on the 'left'), and hope (the one in the 'centre' near the end of the piece). The written poetry at the end of the piece is a very simplified summary of his real journey and represents his most primary belief system. Hi Ren is a continuation of Sick Boi, which is recorded live (though not a one take) in the same basement a few weeks prior to Hi Ren. It was also produced for practically no money and it represents his feelings on commoditization, greed, the healthcare industry, and the music industry in a generalised yet very specific manner. Literally, his entire catalogue is bloody amazing and I don't think you can go wrong with any singular track. Everything Ren does is intentional. He leaves nothing to chance. He has moderate-severe OCD along with ADHD and so every single detail is poured over, analysed, reconsidered, and digested before it is complete. Have fun! Welcome to the RENegades and the RENiverse. Much peace and love to you. ^^ <3
Thank you for spreading the love! ❤❤
Such a sweet song!
Could you show us your doctor's license?
Welcome to Ren rabbit hole keep up the good work listen to sick boi that'd be a good one just go next
Thank you very much! It is on my list!
Hello! Thank you so much for reacting to this special song! I'm the bunny's human and we are so grateful that we could participate ♥️🐰♥️🐰♥️ Hope you're having a safe and happy season! ❣️🐰❣️
Oh such a cute little bunny! Thank you for watching and thank you to you and your bunny for being a part of such a wonderful song!
You convinced me, new Sub! It’s very true about music, it is very good therapy for psychological issues. I believe in it so well, it’s helped me through some very dark times - as I posted on Hi REN, that was a turning point for me, but also so was the band who I mentioned on that comment. I was aware of this and feel very much the same it was a beautiful thing all of the participants did especially considering he’s been having a hard time with his health issues again. Anyway this is a very short clip from a TedX talk from the University of Nevada that a then 12, 14 and 16 year old felt about music: th-cam.com/users/clipUgkxAdkQe6_vHOOiA-diGqWWKuEqV-Lwqx9w?si=FpLLLnqDqZDIfHWf I hope you don’t mind me sharing this with you, but it’s been very special to me. 🌹
Welcome and thank you! Thank you for sharing that really sweet clip! Amazing how music affects us.
Unfortunately this didn’t come up on my radar, I did respond to Hi Ren but have only just had your response. I very rarely sub to a new reactor until I have had chance to listen to a few of their reactions, some work like (throwing mud at the wall hoping some will stick), it’s not very impressive that way. I’m very happy to say you obviously are not part of that group! Your reaction was thoughtful and concise, and definitely meaningful. I enjoyed your reaction to this the same as to Hi Ren, I guess you were a bit overwhelmed by the response to your first reaction, for a new channel that’s unusual - well done for that!
Well thank you! I appreciate you sticking around and for your kind words.
Hi there Thanks for your reaction. Wynand did something great here 💚 I am the Girl from Germany! 😅 I wrote a Song for Ren too. Around the same time as Wynand (a little before). My channel is tiny but I feel like it’s worth listen to especially this Song. Please give it a try 🫶 it would mean so so so much to me. ❤ Thank you so much! It is on my channel called Thanks Ren. And Yes it feels like annoying everybody to mention everywhere „I wrote a Song too“ but I did write a Song for Ren and I did it with full ❤ I think many Renegades would feel seen too. Oh and one last thing. I know my video is not perfect. I was so nervous and I had simply not more time. So my talking is a little all over the place 😅 but I think the song is worth listening to. Thank you so much if you give it a try! Only love 💚 Bells
Awe that’s great, I’ll have to take a listen! Thanks for letting me know!
@@Dr.Olympia Thank you so much. This means a lot to me 💚
Hope you're doing well, Bells! ♥️🐰♥️
@ mk_kroovy1031 hi there! Yes I do. To be honest I was a bit frustrated and exhausted by sharing my song for @renmakesmusic everywhere and couldn‘t still get it in front of him… I think it would be really great if he would get to know about it. But after a few days of sadness I think i‘m not that important in the Ren-world and my song too. So i quit sharing everywhere (only if I see something like this 😉) I hope You’re doing good! Wish you a Merry Christmas 💚✨
Thank you for doing a reaction to this song and spreading the love! Making music has always been an intense form of therapy for me so seeing a therapist react to this song is really special to me❤❤
Hi Wynand! Awe, I appreciate that. This is such a beautiful song! Thank you for sharing your talents with us and bringing together so many people! It's amazing how music impacts us.
I very much enjoy your thoughtful Ren reactions. You’ve earned my sub, and wish you many more!
@@JamesS-j1p Awe thanks! Glad you’re here!
@ I would love to know what types of music you naturally gravitate towards. Most fans will understandably want to see your reactions to songs relating to your field of work, but I would like to recommend something based on your preferences.
@@JamesS-j1p Mm something to think about… thank you!!
Wynand made it VERY EASY for us, giving us step by step instructions!
@@leighloutreedore8926 that’s awesome!
I love that you have done this one. There are so many other amazing tracks out there, but this one is special because it touches us all.
@@mldkenny such a special song!
Thanks! Troubles next. I feel like you are made to give us your reaction to it lol
@@Skotie1 thank you for the recommendation!!
Definitely concur
Thank you for reacting to this, you can see how much we love Ren sending big love from a renegade in the UK ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
Thank you ❤
Absolutely😊
Told ya it was worth doing! 😊 A Rising Tide lifts All Ships -Ren
Yes thank you! Such a good song.
@Dr.Olympia Curious... I havent looked... I'm sure rhere are studies on it! But what's ypur opinion on "Love" Actually being a Healing force! Is it just a placebo effect... or is there more to it? I've heard talking to plants helps... and that like Screamo Metal has a different affect than soft country! If that's true... there has to be more to it! And I know... as a Professional I'm sure you'll say always trust the medicine... yada yada... typical Doc answer! LMBO But as a Fan of Ren... what say you? 😊 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Yours!!! 😊 Might make for a special video! 🤔😏😎😊
@@woodywoodman2319 Oh that is a good topic to consider for a video... thanks for the idea! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
@Dr.Olympia One things for sure... you will Not have any issues finding content/resource data related to that with Ren fans in particular! Lol (Meaning they'd happily open up if it meant possibly Helping Rens case!!!) Nor will ya find hesitation from us "Normal", "Non Medical Professionals", to collect data from! If it's Ren related... the RENegades will support your studies I'm betting! Lol Anywho... hope to see a video on said topic! The more I think about it... the more interested I am! Lol If ya do... Please make sure ya watch his 8 chapters of him reading his written story! They're located in his YT "Troubles" playlist... each short video ends with an old song of his that relates! He dropped his Troubles music video after those daily chapters videos! A finale of sorts! As a Pro... you Need to see them to understand what Ren is all about! Anywho... Tanx for the reply! 😊
Thank you for this reaction.
Such a good song. Thanks for watching!
Ren did see this and left a comment saying it touched him and made him cry 🥲 this community is quite powerful in our positivity and when someone is struggling, be it Ren himself or one of us, we all collectively come together to lift others up. Much love ✌️
Awe that is wonderful!
If there's one thing Ren has done for millions (and it's hard to pick just one), it's to give voice to the things many of us haven't known how to express.
I've watched so many reactions to this song. It resonates so deeply with me. I like yours the most!
Awe thank you so much! Glad you're here!
Great reaction to Ren. Try James Blunt Monster that will shake you up for sure.
Thank you for the recommendation!
Great reaction. Keep up the good work new sub here x
Thank you and welcome!
You’re obviously super bright and very talented. I hope you’ll take this feedback as constructive, but it may come across some other way.. In the reaction community, there are some videos I’ve come across which were more than simply music, they were a Moment.. capital M. I think you may have missed an opportunity to experience this one in that way. The reason, I think, is that you are pausing during awkward times, musically speaking. Mid build, etc. and then, not rewinding. There’s kind of an emotional stutter effect when I as the viewer observe that. To many or most, that may be a negligible, forgivable thing. For me, as much as I recognize and appreciate your talent, I feel FAR less connected to you than I could have. I’m hoping you tweak your timing on the pauses (no concern over frequency if pausing, just the timing of them and especially without rewinding.)
^ hopefully constructive feedback. v im subscribing and I look forward to seeing more from you!
Well shit lol I think I’m reading that this was your first reaction video? You nailed it then 😂 keep doing your thing:
No worries, thanks for joining me!
Excellent reaction. Ren is definitely special and like no other. Look forward to more Ren and friends reactions. Cheers!
Thank you!
Subscribed okay so judging from this song you need to listen to Tom McDonald best rapper ever and there's a whole entire array of his music that you can listen to but in the context of your channel it would be a good thing to listen to that song as a reaction and then there is obviously dax and NF just for starters we can even go into tool the song sober specifically looking forward to seeing more of your reactions I hope this helps ;) 😎👍✌️
Thanks for your recommendations!
Ren is worth it raw… just a suggestion, resist pregaming. Keep going Doc!!
Thanks!
I think Ren has a remarkable ability to somehow capture the emotions of all sides involved in a situation like this.. He obviously has lived through this and also understands things from his friends perspective as well.. but his wording.. the emotions put into the words just for me it has a healing power. Rens music often stimulates necessary conversations and in doing so helps us all understand the importance articulating our feelings. Often the process of talking it through has a heeling power all its own. Powerful song. Loved this reaction.. loved your insight especially coming from your background.
I suggest you react to Falling in Reverse band
Thanks for the recommendation!
Ending commentary was wonderful. Love the thoughts on the guitar and the visual representation. Keep up the great work, Doctor! By the way, Ren is an alien.
Thank you so much! He is brilliant!
Graat Reaction....After this, you must check: Falling in Reverse," Last Resort Reimagined"
Thanks for the recommendation!
I really appreciate you reacting to Ren's music, thank you. I know it helps people.
Thanks for watching and that is the goal!
Thanks for your great reaction 👍❤ Regarding the survivor's guilt the tragedy is that he really was on his way to the Menai Bridge to rescue Joe. Ren was running from his home to the bridge because he got a call that Joe was about to jump. Halfway there, Joe's cell phone went silent. Ren was a minutes to late. In June 2023 Ren donated 21K Pounds to the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) on Anglesey, who helped find Joe in that night and the following days. He collected the money via the JustGiving platform. References to Joe appear again and again in his songs. Most recently in "Slaughter House": "And a legend don't die, I loved that guy, this one's for the broski." If you wanna learn more about Ren's story check out his autobiographical readings in eight chapters on his RenMakesStuff channel. From the end of his best friend Joe, over becoming ill, getting and losing the contract with Sony, via his odyssey through various diagnosis and attempts of treatments to becoming at least better after his stem cell treatment. Absolutely worth watching. You will understand his songs even better afterwards and they become even more intense. Very personal and emotional videos. His song Troubles is a kind of condensation of these readings. 🫂❤🫂❤🫂❤🫂❤🫂❤
Thank you for the awesome reaction and insights!
