Improve Your Finishing Around the Rim | Easy Basketball Circuit for Better Touch
Want to finish stronger around the rim and develop a softer touch? In this video, I’m sharing a finishing circuit inspired by drills from Kyrie Irving that I’ve been doing for the past couple of years.
After watching Kyrie explain what he did as a kid, I started implementing a similar routine, making it my own.
It’s helped me improve my finishing and touch around the basket, and I know it will help you too!
This circuit is designed to work you from close to the basket and gradually move out, building better control and feel for different types of shots.
It’s a quick and effective routine that can take as little as 15 minutes but will bring long-lasting results if done consistently.
Whether you’re new to basketball or want to fine-tune your finishing skills, this routine will get you closer to finishing like a pro.
In this video, you’ll learn:
1. How to improve your touch around the rim with simple drills
2. A full finishing circuit that you can do in 15-30 minutes
3. How to build confidence finishing in traffic and under pressure
4. Tips on working your way from close shots to further away for better control

lol what you mean finally
A. To improve explosiveness
Deffo depending on your level or strength already. But not everyone should start here. Regular may actually be your best bet if you’re starting off and could have a better carry over if your levels are below average.
Needed this 💪🏾
Let’s get it
The famous phrase 😂
For muscle growth, rest times between sets play a crucial role in maximizing hypertrophy. Based on recent scientific research, resting 1 to 2 minutes between sets is often considered optimal for muscle hypertrophy. This period allows sufficient recovery of energy systems like the glycolytic pathway while maintaining the metabolic stress needed to promote muscle growth. Shorter rest intervals (under 60 seconds) can increase metabolic stress but may limit the amount of weight you can lift over time. On the other hand, longer rest intervals (2-3 minutes) allow for more complete recovery and enable lifting heavier weights but may reduce metabolic stress, which also contributes to hypertrophy. However, it's important to note that varying rest periods depending on your specific goals (strength vs. endurance) can also be beneficial. For strength, longer rest times (up to 3-5 minutes) are typically recommended to allow the body to fully recover ATP, which is essential for maximal effort in subsequent sets. In summary: 1-2 minutes for optimal muscle growth. 3-5 minutes for strength-focused training. These findings align with studies on energy system recovery and volume load, making rest times a key factor to balance for your specific training goals.
Not how any of that works 😂
I’d love for you to explain this outrageous comment

@@dr.blackphil7512 completely agree. The point of the video is that most people need to lift heavy and focus of volume & intensity. I’ve read as many papers as you’ve cited above. When you say “optimal” can you quantify the difference between someone taking 3min rest vs 2 min and how that will impact muscle growth? Chances are it’s not going to be life changing. Energy systems and metabolic damage aside, people just forgot that rest times matter. Hope it didn’t take you too long to write that up 😂
Good video
@@Haydenjf957 cheers 🤝
That's why I just go to failure on the last set.
That’s a good shout - there’s studies that show that leaving 1-2 reps in the tank is just as effective but if you don’t get sore or find it hard to recover from, go for it
I depends on what your goal is. Do you want hypertrophy? or muscle endurance?
So you’re telling me it I train for endurance I don’t need to train hard? Or intensity doesn’t matter? If you do 20 reps or 40 reps you need to make sure it’s tough towards those last few reps Hypertrophy can happen in any rep range 1-5, 6-12, 20-30 All comes down to intensity and volume Won’t explain it all here but if you don’t believe that you don’t fully understand training principles
Respect for having Joe Calzaghe on the wall 👏👏

Thats a really good way to teach the proper technique. But to the people who are watching dont use a kettlebell, wrap the band around the side of a squat rack or something
Both ways work sometimes commercial gyms you won’t have access to a squat rack but good shout!
😂😂
Bro what do you think abt stunting your growth I’m 14 and I love doing weights but my dad says I’ll stunt my growth
It won’t, lift safe 👊
Tell your dad it’s okay dude. Once a myth that’s been busted many times. Focus on form & technique and you’ll be sweet
It's a lot harder than rocket science. Calories, muscle groups, hypertrophy, a dozen of different terms, bones, hundreds of different exercises, nutrition, rest and only 24 in a day...
ngl pretty sure rocket science is much harder....
From my experience, the foundational concepts are pretty simple. Most people just try to find the next “shiny” way to get there. When the basics would work just fine 🤷♂️
That’s weird because Wegovy is FDA approved for weight loss and it does work. It’s not a “fat burner” is a GLP-1.
Just because it works doesn’t mean it’s always the best option. But who knows time will tell I guess!
On a standing jump - nah that’s BS. If you’re jumping higher in this it will move into your running jumps. I jump 38 inches off two with a run up and on this test I’m maybe around 22-23. Power matters for this so I disagree
If u jumping below 30 inches, 2 in improvement is nothing compared to go from 30-32 as it is from 17-19. It nothing man
Thought u could hide that dunk at the end of the video 😂
Haha yeah need to work on that

Hey man this is exactly what I need to do, I play football (soccer) but for years have trained for hypertrophy on and off. I want to get into this sort of training style but I do have a knee pain I have to work around and I have no idea where to start in regards to a program for athleticism and football
I was the same man and also had knee pain for years before putting the time in and committing to the right exercises. Drop me a private message on instagram @abanteperformance 🙏
Meh.... Very strange and pointless
Appreciate the positive energy. If you’re talking about the exercise they’re called reverse squats. One of the best ways to improve your vertical but I guess you already knew that
Aren't you supposed to squat or this a different excerise?
Different exercise these are reverse squats help you develop specific deceleration to acceleration strength

yoooo keep it up nice videos how are you so tall i am 17 .. my hight is 167 cm 5.5 feet how can i grow taller
Purely genetics, there is literally nothing you can do other than scary ass surgery. You might boost in a year or you might remain around that height, it's not a bad thing tho
Appreciate it! Genetics unfortunately. Sleeping & decent nutrition probably won’t hurt but everyone’s dealt a specific hand when it comes to height
