This 1973 BASF recording has, to my knowledge, never been made available on CD or any streaming platforms. Anner Bijlsma plays on one of his lifelong compagnon, a cello ascribed at that time to G-F Pressenda (Torino-1835). It appeared though that this instrument was the work of Celeste Farotti (1824-1928). An air of mystery surrounds some of his work, and there are many legends about him, as th...

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing
This piece is called Morceau de Salon No.2. It's the second of 4 Morceaux de Salon published posthumously.
Super nice!! Frans Vester was the teacher of my teacher Marieke Schneemann😉🎵❤️
Best vision! Bravo! 👏
Bravi bravi bravi!!!
Great recording! Really loving this interpretation, Bijlsma is not afraid of the of the silences and strange sounds that this sonata brings, rather he leans into it with great success! Bravo, an inspiration!
Unsurpassable. Height of perfection.
dear Norbert Great you found this ! thanks
1.17. Glorious
Jessie Norman atinge a perfeição nestas quatro últimas canções, não sei qual a mais bonita, volto sempre à onírica "Beim Schlafengehen".
No one like her ❤
Sounds tinny and way too slow.
Es ist nach meine Meinung ein sehr Gute Spiel Danke
The opening chord progression of Beethoven’s First Symphony caused a controversy for forty years. This movement is patterned on that chord progression, but it’s so completely disguised that nobody ever notices. The idea of troping over masterworks, as Chopin does here and as Gounod’s “Ave Maria” does over the C Major Prelude from Bach’s Well Tempered Clavier, may have a common origin in Pauline Viardot-Garcia, a great soprano, who was briefly involved with both composers. Perhaps these movements are both the result of pillow talk!
emocionante interpretación, Gracias por Compartir.
Celibidache was not a fan of miss norman to say the least… he criticized her for weeks after the concert… typical celibidache, lol
Jessie owned these four last songs...sorry Mrs Schwarzkopf.
Thank you for posting it
THis is for sure the finest chamber work by Weber !!!!!
What a lovely and historical recording!
Thanks so much, I had this album back in the day and have been waiting forever for someone to post it here.
Two reminders: 1.Anner was a great performer of more than Bach and on more than the Baroque cello and 2.Mendelssohn was a wonderful composer of more than just a few well-known pieces.
Excellent sound quality of Anner the Great performance!
Megh
So happy to find this rare recording.
My favorite piece on the album! The whole album shows the earlier , lighter , pre-12 tone Schoenberg! Bravo!
Monumental work....Monumental voice ...Monumental conductor
Merveilleux..merci ..
This is a great recording, thank you! Would you post the Horn Trio of the A side?
oh merci,,,,,,,,
Does anyone know where this recording is from? Some Lp or live?
The articulation of Bylsma is astounding and is probably helped by the "lighter" sound of the pianoforte which is delightfully played here, if not to say absolutely brilliantly played. Bravo to both these great interpretes.
Prachtig! Bedankt!
Prelude is too fast.
정말 다른 포맷으로는 찾기 힘든 레코딩이네요. 올려주셔서 감사합니다.
Le plus grand !!!!!
Auguste Franchomme (1808-1884) was an intimate friend of Chopin and a teacher at the Paris Conservatory, was in that days one of the best exponents of the Paris cello school. He played Duport’s famous Stradivari cello, the model for all later instruments. His caprices are still used by teachers today, and his variations on Russian and Scotland themas, make the listener imagine oneself in a Paris salon of the 1840’s. In this record, also recordings from: Bernhard Romberg, Justus J.F. Dotzauer, Robert Lindley and Adrien François Servais. The virtuoso pieces presented in this record have no special depth of musical thought. Importance is attached to all the possibilities of the instrument and the technique of its player. Anner Bylsma, plays the 1701 Servais Stradivarius Cello from the Smithsonian Society. The record was made in Germany on MPS-BASF LP 25 208915-0, 33rpm, 12 inch LP.
Clássico, belo, inventivo!
Excelso intérprete...ejecuta con sosiego ... Una maravilla gracias.
Buena musica
These coughs..so tasteful!
Around five minute mark, listen for the expressive vibrato.
Rare and tremendously expressive and moving performance!
Fantastisch dat mensen dit uploaden (ondanks foutje met eerste track)
Thank you for sharing this precious gem ❤️
- Heinz
The No. 1 rendition of the piece.
I understand that the pianoforte may be the historically correct instrument here and also the tradition of the cello being the "primo" in such a piece but the pianopart feels so restricted and muffled, even off sounding. I miss the full expression and flow there. Otherwise wonderful playing!
A great composition by Liszt, but where are the harp & harmonium? In another room.
завораживает
