Brother of Heaven

Hi everyone, welcome to my dharamshala where we expand the sikh path to self mastery. "Har" refers to the Divine, the aspect of God that is omnipotent and all-pervasive. It embodies God’s presence in the here and now. Repeating "Har Har" aligns one with Ik Onkar, the oneness of Self. "Har Amrit" is divine nectar - spiritual nourishment, and "Har Guru" is the guide to divine laws like dharma and karma.
Holy Trinity by Jesus Christ:
1. Son (devotee - physical) who experiences life.
2. Father (formless - higherself, guiding Divine or Har Har) teaches.
3. Holy Spirit (Ik Onkar) watches creation unfold - the balance between duality.
Mukti is recognising this unity 3 made 1: "I Am God". Yet, the ego persists as long as we are incarnated, making this realisation a life long daily practice. Trusting the Divine is trusting ourselves, allowing by the 10th gate, while the Holy Spirit observes the dance of creation “So dar tera kehaa so ghar kehaa” indifferent but full of love. You you you.

Anand Sahib | Guru Amar Das Ji | New English Translation
“Anandu” also known as “Anand Sahib”, is a masterpiece of spiritual poetry that guides the soul on its journey toward eternal bliss. Translated as The Song of Bliss, this sacred composition illuminates the path to inner joy, which can only be achieved through connection with the Divine. Its 40 stanzas resonate with the essence of Sikh philosophy, offering profound insights into the nature of life, the self, and the eternal truth. And the timestamps can be found in the pinned comments below.
Through Anand Sahib, Guru Amar Das Ji reveals that true happiness cannot be found in material possessions or fleeting pleasures but in the realisation of Naam - the Divine Presence that permeates all creation. The prayer underscores that this realisation comes through the guidance of the Guru, Satguru = True Guru which is your True self (aka higher self), who by its grace dispels the darkness of ignorance and leads to spiritual awakening. And this is done by the “Dasamdaur” where we connect to higher consciousness. Biblically this is known as our halo whereby we have been projected into physical reality. And then a “Gurdwara” is the Gurus abode where we learn to connect through the Gurus gate i.e 10th gate and merge and commune to our higher self just as Nanak did or Jesus namely calling his connection “My father”.

The composition emphasises surrendering the ego, detaching from worldly illusions, and harmonising one’s soul with the eternal melody of the universe, referred to as the Anahad Naad (Unstruck Sound). This sound, uncreated reflects the oneness of all that is, as to create a sound you need 2 things to come together. But duality is not real and just an illusion of this imaginary creation, not a divine truth. Nanak, encapsulated this in the profound Sikh declaration “Ik Onkar” - All is One. This resonates with the Biblical idea of "The Word," which is described as having no beginning or end, infinite and eternal.
aadh sach jugaadh sach || hai bhee sach naanak hosee bhee sach ||1||
(Sach-u) The Eternal One is (aadh) True at the beginning and (jugaadh) True throughout the ages.
The Eternal One (hai) is (bhee) True here and now and (hosee bhee) shall remain True evermore, O (Naanak)!||1||
(1st Nanak - Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Japu, Ang 1)
Anand Sahib invites the seeker to transcend the chaos of the ego mind identity and immerse themselves in the Divine Word (Shabad), which purifies and uplifts the spirit. In Punjabi poetry the world play i.e Maya is written as “O Mother”, I know many would have you believe its talking about human mothers, but even in Guru Amar Das case he was in his 70s when he became 3rd sikh Guru. So, whenever you read bani and the translations say “O Mother” know now that gurus are referring to the feminine energy of creation aka mother nature, the life giver of this world. Whilst God, the creator is the masculine energy state, where all creation comes from and manifested in. Similar to males and females creation process.
Each stanza of Anad Sahib, is self-contained yet interconnected forming a journey from the state of separation from the Divine to the ultimate bliss of union. With poetic repetition, vivid metaphors, and profound imagery, Guru Amar Das Ji conveys the beauty of a life rooted in humility, devotion, and trust in the Divine Will. This union with the Creator brings about anand - an unshakeable bliss that arises from recognising one’s true nature and merging with the Infinite.
The intent with alot of Sikh scriptures, is that Anand Sahib is not just a prayer but a spiritual experience. As one recites or listens to its words, it becomes a meditative journey, dissolving doubts and illuminating the soul’s innate connection to the Creator. Guru Amar Das Ji reminds us that this bliss is not reserved for a select few but is accessible to all who seek the truth with an open heart and surrender to the Guru's guidance.
So now, immerse yourself in the words of Anand Sahib, and let its timeless wisdom awaken the eternal bliss within. It is a reminder that our true purpose lies in experiencing the boundless joy of living in harmony with the Divine.

Asa Ki Vaar | Guru Granth Sahib Ji | New English Translation
มุมมอง 62K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Asa Ki Vaar, though it was lengthy, almost reaching 900 pages was an incredibly enjoyable experience, and I’m grateful I was able to complete it. It was wonderful to come across the writings of Mehla 2: Guru Angad Dev Ji, as it's not something one encounters so often. This rendition was sung by Bhai Bakshish Singh Ji Ragi (1933-1990) inside Raamdaspur Sahib Darbar, recorded in the 1970’s. Truly...
Kirtan Sohila | Guru Granth Sahib Ji | New English Translation
มุมมอง 2.2K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Sohila means praising happily aka gratitude, usually recited at bedtime. Its a celebratory song written to overcome fear and walk across the threshold of the unknown. Guru Nanak uses the analogy of a wedding ritual to prepare us for that final consummation which is Death. Death is inevitable, for the appointed time is already written. Transition to the other side fills us with fear and anxiety,...
Jap Ji Sahib | Guru Nanak Dev Ji | New English Translation
มุมมอง 42K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
Around 2020 lockdown when my high school closed, and the whole world felt like it was falling apart. I found solace in my bedroom learning about Sikhi. What really warmed my heart about this Nanak Shabad, is that this Japji Sahib is written right at the start of the Sikh holy scripture, the Guru Granth Sahib. And he has really made this path of God (self mastery) simple to understand. Before he...
