This is a short walk through to share with enthusiasts, friends and family. I do this for the team because someone has to do this. It is possible to get a great variety of nutrient from a backyard garden. This requires a pace to coincide with the season, environment and your individual needs. Listen. I'm a better person with a garden. Everyone should have this connection to some degree. Autonom...

Benefits of a Barrel Biochar Burn part 2
มุมมอง 198ปีที่แล้ว
I will learn to edit one day. This is a continuation of Benefits of a Barrel Biochar Burn. The important takeaway from this video, is you're using fire to change wood waste into a permanent compost. You can use any type of biomass. If fully charred material, finds it's way to the soil, it will stay there longer than you. It will hold more moisture, minerals and microbes than manure compost. It b...
Benefits of a Biochar Barrel Burn

A smaller barrel creates a fire easier to manage. A big fire requires running to keep up the fires intensity. Brien describes how he cut the barrel and what improvement to the cut he would make.

💯
Interesting.
good job!
i would try an extension on the pressure washer so you can stand further back. Also, try a finer nozzle. and yes, a chain saw would be useful. You could also use a wet/dry vac with a trap instead of a sump pump. There seems to be a lot of slurry in the hole. Try a smaller tree?

Thank you, James, for all that you do. ,👏
🤠 Thats an amazing "Little Scooter"... Whats her name, Scoot said he wants to meet up with her and drag a few more trees around..
Ha! We call her Rat rod. I'd love to see them working together.
you should make coke aka biochar with that wood!
yep. We are well into biochar. Check out our demonstration burn at a local Organic Gardening Store that provides soil analysis. 3 different burning vessels. th-cam.com/video/vxVveNuV9ls/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUddHJpZmVjdG8gd29ya3Nob3AgYW5kIGJsb3Nzb20%3D
Haha😂😂😂😂
Thanks for the comment. What's your take on communitarianism?
Beautiful!
I would have liked to see how you started the fire and the process...so the fire inside the barrel doesn't burn the wood to ash, the flames/fire hops up to the wood you are putting on top? then it drops below and doesn't keep burning?
Yes. We start the fire with dry wood and a propane torch. Once it gets going , watch it. When you see white ash on the wood, add more and the flame will transfer and draw the air up to it. The heat is below. Denying the charred material oxygen further sucking out any last volitiles. Keep the flame on top. We will do another burn and record how it's started. Thank you geri! Good comment.
3:30: "our job is pretty much just never ending" So true!
Thanks for sharing. Terrible stuff being done to humanity.
Wow, temperature controlled fan ... Great score Sqirl!! I'm going to try the sea crop foliar spray on my garlic... Thanks
They'll love it.

Excellent video. Thank you.
Love it!!
Can I come work at your place?
I was happy to hear you took the mulch from underneath the pile, that you had moved it Toads and other creatures like to make homes under piles so moving it helps them survive...
Thank you for watching Geri. No matter what, a pile that sits too long, without covering will not burn well. It'll smoke and be a big failure. We opened up the forgotten pile of refuse for a few days in the hot sun. It took time. This was a neighbor we never met. Brien had an idea one day to knock at his door, introduce ourselves, engage on the subject of biochar, and set a date to come back over with all our equipment for a number of days. It wasn't quick. All of the toads, birds and bugs had time to reconfigure:)
Scary times. Thank you for all the information.
I'm confident the human body recovers ceaselessly. Feeling better is the objective.
Absolute MENTAL Illness 😢
Why??????????
That's a good question. It's been going on for thousands of years.
The perfect utopia if we change everything that's natural like humans animals and ecosystems then they can create the perfect utopia of health. The price you'll have to pay is becoming non human.most will buy into the perfect health scenario. They can even cure cancer. When you can cure all it will be the end of humanity as we know it.when people are faced with death and despair they'll grasp at anything.very very sad.
I Shared this out.. thank you for the information

Omg. Excellent work for a guy who just woke up! Now you can see the tentacles that penetrate Canada. This helps me narrow down some individuals
Social, political, moral policy is a sure sign to international communitarian governance. It defies all national laws.
Thanks Jenna.. wonderful interview and information
Great job
Sync your TH-cam channel to an Odysee channel to make sure your stuff is backed up. Theres lots of censorship on TH-cam.
Incredibly important information. Kudos to you both!
LOL...Elmar would love one of those things!!
"do you have any comments Brien? 'No, I'm concentrating' " ~~~ well said!
Thanks for watching. He was "in the weeds" up there.
I would have put a screen over the wagon. That way what did not go thru the screen could be put back thru the crusher to get it closer to the correct size.
nice egg!
It's the little things that make it better. Thanks for watching.
We have about 3 inches snow here! I thought 2 chickens had frozen their feet to the ground because they just stood in the same place for 20 minutes...but no... hahahaaa Thanks for the entertainment Sqirl 😃🐔🐓🐣
I didn’t know they had biochar in 1988!
I used a 12 inch diablo blade with my sawsall and worked well. I also cut each end then the middle and virbration work to split the root.
Wish I lived closer...I'd totally be there!! Beer and brats and biochar!! what could be more fun? ;))
Не пускайте женщину к механике.
Thank you

I was wondering if pressure washing the dirt away from a stumps tree roots would allow better access to cutting the roots Thanks for the video
I am a little confused at your comment. The pressure washing we are demonstrating removes the dirt and rocks to expose the roots for cutting.

very cool!
Very cool Sqirl, thanks for sharing.
Amazing! Ty! 💗
Nice vid and sound :))
I can totally relate. I also have hard clay soil that is so compressed that even corn can't grow. And adding OM (organic matter) doesn't work because in a year it's gone and you have to do all the heavy lifting from scratch. Which is why I'm trying to create as much biochar as I can because it doesn't decay, doesn't compact and has many other cool properties. In my case no till also equals failure. In a few places where I put 20-30% biochar 2 feet deep (to grow tomatoes) I don't plan on tilling ever again because the biochar won't allow the hard clay to get compacted again.
