@vishalbisani1826 thank you vishal 🙏🏿
This is crazy!
Late to the game but watching from Ontario! Excellent job, everyone. I really enjoyed your video! Keep up the good work.
@faitheternal3015 thank you for the support🙂
@mylesnmilestv You're welcome! Couldn't help but notice the Jamaican flag in one of your videos. I am Canadian (born and raised) also with Jamaican heritage. I don't think I'm brave or resourceful enough to live in Nunavut, but I'm glad there are people like you who willingly go to help out. The children are fortunate to have you, as you likewise benefit from learning about their amazing culture and traditions. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I wish you all the best!!!
Try iglulik ataguttaaluk high school lol
I've noticed that considering how expensive everything is, they sell a whole lot of junk food.
Hi I want to move there could you you help me to give some information?
Great vid explaining our community (basically most of Nunavut) although the “Canadian Tire” is the Metal dump. Overall great vid
@illuitok1692 Thank you for the clarification!. Sadly, I realized after 😅 I posted haha . Thank you so much for the support!
Hey! I enjoy watching your content, keep it up!
@@ecxellentgaming8453 thank you so much for your support😁
It is so different from Toronto for SURE! Will climate change affect the permafrost up there, or is it already doing it where you are?
@lamma98 soo different!! I would say climate change is already affecting nunavut for sure! The permafrost is still here. However, it is October, and my town still does not have snow. Typically, we would be covered in at least 4 feet of snow by now
@@mylesnmilestv yikes, 4 feet normally! It is different this year in southern Ontario, our fall colors are faded due to no cold snap, and the forecast this Oct 19 weekend is 20C !
The kids are enjoying science and are at the start to become future scientists for their communities!
is the permafrost unique to your community? I want to go to Arviat or Rankin Inlet which are more South to where you are
@eb.3764 thanks for commenting! And nope Permafrost is all over Nunavut! ARVIAT which as you know is one of the more southern establishments here in Nunavut, is still about 90- 100km north of the tree line, so permafrost is still a huge factor!
Hey there! Always great to see your content. Thanks for the exclusive tour. Is there recycling there or does everything go to the dump? Does any of the trash get sent out anywhere or does the town plan to ever send it out anywhere? Tell the kids one of your supporters says "hi!"
@nativedawta Heyyy first, thank you so much for your support and comments😊. I will tell my students that you say hi today! Unfortunately, there is no recycling at all. Everything is sent straight to the dump and will stay there for the foreseeable future. There's no resources for trash to be sent out of town to a facility because of how expensive an hard logistics are to get way in the Arctic!
this is super fascinating. do you plan on being there long term? I lived in Labrador as a kid but in comparison this is super different.
@bilong92 Thank you for commenting! And I have been here now for a few years, I do plan on being here for a bit longer, too! What's the biggest difference you've noticed between Labrador and here?
@@mylesnmilestv I haven't been back since I was 9 but in general Labrador seems more developed (I was in Goose Bay) without anything needing to be below ground. And we had trees! But still like 8 months of snow haha.
@bilong92 ohh I have heard of Goose Bay before! And man, I honestly never thought I'd feel this way, but I do miss seeing trees everywhere. It's unique to think that many of the people here have never seen a tree before!
based
In high end supermarkets in California those high prices would be sale prices.
Could you recommend safe and good communities to go to?
I am interested in indigenous dialects and languages and I would like to move there and to Greenland for a few years because there is a lot of resemblance.
As far as the comments that you are not rhe first black guy in an igloo, you are the first one i have seen and you might be the first one on TH-cam so its still good. I think you are inspiring because you left your home as a teacher and moved to the artic to teach. Dude that's so freaking cool.
I hope you post more. I love your channel
You are brave! I hope you are ok now.
Cool video. I hope there will be more videos.
been there and here is some advise you wont last, the money will be great at first but you will realize pretty quick that you made a mistake going there. now there is no night life what so ever, I knew someone that moved up there to teach and she ended up leaving before the end of the school year. Good luck and im sure you wont stay!!!
@@brandonlamontagne2075 thanks for your concern, I appreciate it! But I've been here for 5 years now and I'm doing well😊
omg! u studied geomatics? which school did u do it in?
This is really nice!! Thank you for sharing.
I guess that you really like the cold weather.
@@samihmina6388 haha I prefer the heat! But sometimes the cold is good for your body😁
is the Moose Knuckles warm enough up north??
Can you do a video of your overall experience teaching in the North, salary (after taxes), cost of living etc.???
im from Toronto also, graduating in a year from my B.Ed and wondering if I should go to Nunavut
I am a Jamaican also, who is about to migrate to Canada, and there are two places I'm interested in living, and Nunavut is one of them.. I don't care what anyone wants to say, if you can make a difference, you shouldn't be afraid of challenges because others really need your help.. My brother, i wish i could join you right now.. Yes, it might be a lot colder there, but your capabilities could change a lot of lives there, i so wish i could be a part of this wonderful province.. How did you manage to secure residence there? What are the procedures??
Continue to bridge the gaps ❤
Love it❤
Jamaican flag. Aka you and/or your fam is from a HOT area.... What are you doing up there???? lol Jk best of luck!
I am very impressed with your willingness to help and to take on such a challenge. This is not only a remote part of the world, but one of the harshest environments to withstand. We would love to hear a follow-up to see how you and your students are doing!
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Too cute.
Yikes!
yoo was that my cousin Emily?
start posting weekly or monthly pimp! A lot of people are interested in small, tight-knit communities and the process of immigrating and integrating into the culture.
Hey brother help me out i want to move to iqaluit but I don’t know how to find accommodation there help me out please…!
Do you get a food subsidy? I heard that food is extremely expensive up there.
