The Old Summer Palace also known as Yuanmingyuan Park 圆明园遗址公园 is in Haidian District 海淀区 Beijing 北京 Once the world’s most splendid "Garden of Gardens”. Victor Hugo described it as: "In a corner of the world, it is one of the wonders of the world. The miracle called the Old Summer Palace."

Honglingjin Park 红领巾公园 is in Chaoyang District 朝阳区 in Beijing 北京 It was another overcast day when I visited Honglingjin Park(literally Red Scarf Park). The temperature wasn’t bad so was bustling with people singing, dancing, exercising, doing sports, taichi, drawing and enjoying the surroundings.

The Summer Palace 颐和园 is in Haidian District 海淀区 Beijing 北京 I picked a day to video this park that was not too hot or too cold on a weekday to avoid way too many tourist groups. Unfortunately it was also very overcast.

It's not do anything illegal, it's write anything bad or critique about China on print or a social media site. The pen is mightier than the sword when you critique about the government in China, Russia, Iran, Brunei, Singapore and North Korea etc... So it's more hazardous to your health if you visit these countries after writing anything bad about them. This demonstrate the video's author naivete and simplicity...
If more Canadians and Americans actually visited China I’m sure perceptions would change radically. Western Capitalist countries are heavily motivated to dismiss and downplay the successes of different economic systems.

A few years ago I introduced the Beatles to a class I taught in Thailand. 13-15 year olds I guess. A number of kids were immediately hooked on Eight Days a Week, with the video showing them at Shea Stadium. In another class of kids a couple of years younger I changed course and showed them a class of the mock Beatles band, the Rutles and the song Hold My Hand. The kids were happily singing Hold My Hand, Yeah, Yeah! during their lunch break. If the Beatles don't get you, the Rutles will.

This is a nice change! I've watched just hundreds of videos of people walking or driving around, hundreds where they are concentrating on some specific thing (street food mostly), but everyone seems to ignore the details of what's along the road! I wouldn't mind a little more detail if available (say from the signage which I can't read). "This is a little restaurant, it has local style food". Anyway I was surprised to find this, it's something I've been clamoring for. I keep saying "If I ever get to that market (or town, or neighborhood) I'll spend a YEAR on one block or so, and never run out of material".

honestly, before 2018 when President Xi became president, the rivers in the cities and in the villages were not clean as now. The air condition is also terrible, especially in winter and in northern cities. But after 2018, the environment gets better every year and every day.
when I moved to Beijing in 2017 the air quality was usually pretty bad, but now it usually pretty good!
