any direction/ responses would be helpful. I asked in the SLC subreddit and it got removed instantly. not sure why. maybe they don't like the mormon talk lol. idk.
Hello from Miami FL is ogdenis expensive place to live are there a Hispanic neighborhood if there is what part of Ogden is there pubic transportation thank you
What about non-mormon communities outside of SLC. Looking for a small town vibe near the mountains.

@@JackSon-cs5vk good? bad? Haha
I've been living in Utah (Payson, Provo and Lehi) for about 2 yrs and while I have to say working here is great as the economy is very strong, I have noticed some things about the Mormon culture. First off, very respectful courteous and helpful in general. They raise their children the same and it shows in the communities. Unless you go to downtown SLC you wont see much graffiti or crime for that matter, at least in the places I've lived. Thats alot to like. It has to be the absolute safest place I've ever lived. I've lived all over the U.S - born in Boston, moved to L.A as a teen, lived in Seattle , lake Tahoe, as well as the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana for a few years. My point is I have some experience in other places. The one thing I seem to find and it might be I havent yet lived here long enough - is the Mormons have a line for how much courtesy and sincerity they seem to express to 'non Mormons' and after that you're pretty much on your own lol. As a private teacher (hence my somewhat anonymous profile here) I come across all kinds of people and several of my younger students (17-20yrs) who grew up here tell me as kids they were not allowed to play with Mormon kids outside of school as requested by Mormon parents. They were of different religions. I can respect that as its a matter of faith and wanting your kids to assimilate into the Mormon culture seamlessly makes sense. It seems the closer you are to Provo the more apparent this is, where as in DT SLC it seems more like any major city - and you do see the crime and homelessness as a result. but for people moving here that might want to know, the closer to Provo the more 'being Mormon' - or not - is 'something.' weighed in strongly by Mormons... at least thats been my experience
@@leveractiongypsy1848 Thanks for your input and sharing your personal experiences.
There is no pro of living along Utah back range or Denver Front range. Except you are five hours from Teton. Moab. Zion. But hey Utah is awesome. I liked Saint George mucho better. Dad lived in Moab 13 years. It's like Atlanta. SLC if you need a job. That's where you go.
Cant be worse than Pasadena and Houston,Tx

People need to stop moving here, it has DESTROYED the economy and culture..horrible crowds everywhere and costs way above reasonable rates. Its a shitshow. The picture of the home you showed for 500k is such a lie, there arent houses that look like that for the price.
The housing market in Utah is a fucking joke. Never been worse, all these numbers inflated by investors and businesses
Logan
There are NO Mormons, they're Latter-day Saints, or Saints. Please stop using the defamatory name of Mormon. LOTS of non-members of the church live in Utah, just like LOTS of non-Baptists live in Louisiana, it's no big deal.
Funny, the Mormon church spent millions of dollars on their “I’m a Mormon” campaign but it wouldn’t be the first time the church took a major change to curry favor.
@@RussellFineArt yes we understand your meaning. Though a lot of “non-Mormons” or “non-LDS” folks don’t know the term “LDS” OR Latter Day Saints” therefore we use Mormons to help a broader audience understand what we are talking about.
we're a very family-oriented state with high trust. i love our neighbor culture

The problem with Utah is the mormons. It's a cult and cult members are always suspicious and hostile to outsiders.
High taxes? L O L, CALIF TAXES THE AIR & IS WORKING ON THE SUN !
I live in Utah, looking to rent in Utah County, I appreciated the comparison!
I think this lady works for the Chamber of Commerce ;-) You will have a hard time being accepted, no matter how nice and kind you are. You will be an outsider forever unless your generations are Mormons. I know.
Nope! I’m just a normal Utah resident that’s helping people move to Utah (realtor) if they so decide. I’m non Mormon, my husband is non Mormon and we would have to disagree with your opinion. Thanks for the input though! I’m sure everyone’s experience is a little different.
And your kid will 89% less likely to be taught by dragqueen or nonbinary teacher or onlyfan teacher here...less likely to see woke policy here
Should have shown the difference in rate of pay. They can't compare if they are different.
That’s a good point. This is mainly targeted towards an audience that is considering a move to Utah. Gives comparison to what it cost to live here vs LA. Thanks for the comment!

I raised 2 daughters in Utah. The LDS church does definitely (strongly) affect social interactions among non-LDS school age children. Those who dispute...are LDS reciting "the mantra". As adults, both daughters moved out of state.
Exactly, Mormons are NOT welcoming, especially to children, especially if you not agree with their regressive so-called values. Jesus's command to "Love others as you love yourself" is absolutely ignored. Like most conservative Christians, they cherry-pick to support their ideology, distorting their religion.
