I been coming to Thailand since 2013 and now retired to Udon Thani and I never experienced racism in Thailand. I been to Isaan and have people there who let me say at their homes and I know people who are in local government, policemen, teachers, monks, etc. All of them treated me with respect and almost like family. The only time I felt racism was from a Farang in Pattaya. I am from LA so I know racism when I see it. Maybe your just hanging around the wrong folks.

Things can be a little different in Bangkok most Black people that talk about Thailand talk about Pattaya. And usually end up hanging around or dating people or girls from the countryside. city people can be a little different especially amongst white Thais. But still a great place to live overall.

My guy, you gotta get out of Pattaya. That's a place for "fun". Go to Ayutthaya, Bang Saen, Si Racha, Mae Rim, places that aren't redlight districts and you'll see what the normal people in the country are really like. You'll meet normal women and get to understand how they feel about the women in Pattaya. (They look down on them severely.) They don't mind facial hair, but its not normal in Asia for men to have facial hair. So if you keep it make sure it well-kempt. Also, keep a fresh cut. Sunnie's in Pattaya is meh. If you're in Bangkok near Sukhumvit 15(The night hotel) there is a barber that cuts black dude's hair very well. It's in the subway station around the corner. If you don't speak Thai, then use an hour out of your day to learn it. Preply.com is a place to find a teacher . You should definitely do that if you're going to spend significant time there. Thai people are friendly and nice, but will not hesitate to rip you off if you're the first time foreigner. Learning the language will help against that. That place you got is nonsense. Pure chaos any time after 3pm. Get a room in Jomtien or something. You're a 20 min Grab ride from Pattaya, but there is peace and quiet over there. Thailand is amazing, but you need to venture out of the place meant to rip-off tourists. Find a decent girl and travel around the country with her. If you HAVE to get a bargirl, just make sure she doesn't bleed you dry. If she says "lets go to Isan to seem my family," don't. Be careful with dating apps. The prosti's/ladyboys use them to find new customers. They expand the range so they can see you from Pattaya the moment your plane lands. Have fun, enjoy yourself, but be careful.
