I was a Metropolitan Police Officer during Countryman,and I had no time for villians especially those in the Police , however the Countryman enquiry was a total farce , firstly the Dorset officers assigned were traffic officers who were made CID for the enquiry , none had any idear of how the Met worked or the workload and pressure officers in London worked under, not getting anywhere the enquiry team was expanded and brought in other constabularies to assist,sadly criminals caught on to the enquiry and spun more yarns and falsehoods to the enquiry making their job even more confusing . The result being the enquiry cost millions and the Countryman team not trusting any Met officer made a complete mess of every thing they got involved with and even when theywere getting closeto uncovering criminal activity in some CID officers they made such a mess of things they failed to secure evidence to convict, the original enquiry was the result of an ex Met senior officer transferring to the Citgy of London where he ( a MET officer) uncovered a considerable amount of corruption in the City Police aand that was how the enquiry started.I am certain at the time there were several criminals within the Met but the Countryman team were completely out of their depth,and if anything came out of it it showed how incompetent they were at every level and how easily criminals couldcon them . Themain personin the video I believe to be Puddick was an idiot.

Anyone who had Michael in their lives was very fortunate indeed. Beautiful tribute, Ian, you brought my wife to tears, as only last Saturday, Michael was sat eating lunch at our house and flattering her with his charm and articulacy.

A man of immense courage, gone but never forgotten.
