    I've seen these on Sports pursuit website for about £75. Massively reduced from the £200+ RRP. I've got a pair of new ASICS Novablast 4 which are amazing but looking at a second pair of runners as part of my training. Any ideas how these compared to the Novablast 4?

    • @marcoc2706
      @marcoc2706 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think this shoe would serve the same function as Novablast 4 - easy run, long run, and a bit of speed work if needed.

      I have to correct myself. This shoe is not for long run. I got a pair of Neo Ultra a couple weeks ago (approx. CAD$125). Ran twice so far (15k and 13k) and my knee hurt both times. The shock absorption capability is definitely not as good as Asics's FF Blast+.

    The first and last Hoka shoes that I will purchase. It is like running in soft sand, and these runners managed to knock 1 minute/km off my average run time. They just suck the life from your legs as you increase time and kms. I would avoid these shoes for anyone that 1) enjoys running and 2) wants to keep enjoying running. Where they might add value is for recovery days, or for people that are training for an event that has them running through knee deep mud or in very soft sand across sand dunes. I am a heavy runner (90kg+) that runs 50km+ each week, and have not had an injury in about 5 years. These shoes changed that. My knees and ankles were inflamed and sore for days after running a slow 10km. I usually wear Saucony or On Cloud shoes, and have recently switched back...and the muscle soreness disappeared...and my times magically came back up to my normal average!! They are OK and comfortable for wearing around the house as a pair of slippers, but as a shoe for running - i would not recommend.

    What an informative review! I have many foot problems and need a supportive, comfortable stability shoe. I tried every Brooks "stability" shoe recommended: Addiction, Addiction Walker, Adrenaline, Ariel. They were all too narrow and pointed in the toe box, and lacked the depth needed for my orthotic insert. The GHOST was a more roomy fit, but I found the footbed too soft. I went to New Balance 990v5 and 993 and again. narrow, pointed, cramped toe box. I'm not a runner, but I walk everyday. I've had plantar fasciitis, Insertional Achilles Tendonitis/Bursitis, Haglund's and Peroneal Tendonitis. I have fallen arches too and overpronate. From trying to wear some of the shoes I mentioned above, I developed new problems: numbness in my toes and feet and Morton's Neuroma. Shoes are made too narrow today and do not fit the natural shape of the human foot, which broadens in the toe area! Consequently, the nerves in our feet get compressed and the neuropathy develops, and worse, nerve damage. There are other brands that make round toed shoes, but NONE of them with a 10-12mm heel drop, which I need. I found out about the Dyad and gave it a try. I had to get an XX-Wide to have enough room for my insert and socks and the DYAD provides that. I just have one problem with them. On my right foot, the pods embedded in the sole hurt the bottom of my foot. As the day goes on it becomes more painful and hard to wear the shoes. I thought about trying the GHOST again, but this time putting a carbon fiber insert to give it more firmness and support. Do you think that would work? Excellent review of the DYAD, thank you!

    I like this newer 'wide platform' stability approach as well. Currently use the NB 'More v3' and I feel like this new K30, and also Gaviota 5 attempt to make really good stability use of a very wide platform with smart geometry. I hope it becomes a popular category, because overly rigid (older) stability features tend to bother me. I don't get all disturbed by a wee bit of foam bulk, the way some buyers might. It helps me. Agree that the gray "4D" plug of foam is partly a familiar indicator of 'stability shoe.' Supposedly it's softness will 'rebound' you out of midstance, more so than providing rigid (traditional) resistance. The Sportitude video where, "we cut a Kayano 30 in half" shows an interesting take on how that might go. Appreciate your review.

      Hey. I'd honestly say you would need to try them on. But People that are used to walking in the old Kayano may prefer the Asics 2000. It's great for walking it's just the heel contact point that personally I didn't like about it.

      In Australia podiatrists cant prescribe antibiotic cream. In this case, though the patient is already on oral antibiotics. The use of phenol can usually kill all bacteria, and then I fill the nail sulci with betadine at the end to reduce risk of infection, so antibiotic cream is not always needed.
