Likely a management struggle. Some pushy guy in the Case organization didn’t want to buy engines from the truck part of International and thought the Case rear end and axles were better

That’s out of an International Truck. IHC stuck the 345 in everything from Scouts to Pickups to medium duty trucks. It’s a good engine when restored. Built for torque and about 200 hp/ 320ft lbs torque depends on year. Most are two bbl carbs. Low revving. We had one in our family pickup as a kid. Diesel like torque from a gas engine. Emissions laws and progress stopped production about 1983? I’m guessing. Design dates back to the fifties.

Took a perfectly good tractor and and turned it into a POS 💩 total garbage now of course anything that was made by international was garbage right from the factory if it had a motor in it anyway there equipment wasn't to bad if you didn't have to use one of there tractors to pull it and there pickups, scouts and trucks were just as big a POS 💩 as the tractors were

@@bethmotgomery2662 lol why not. There a cool ass engine but none of them had any power. And if they chew up a cylinder they're toast because it don't have sleeves. And, if you do gotta rebuild them, it's so expensive it's not worth it. Like the A posted here, it's like 1200$ just to get 24HP lol.

For a 2 cylinder, I prefer to keep the engine stock from the factory thank you. You don't call it a johnny popper for nothing you know. There factory engines are what and why they were popular to earn that nickname. And you should NEVER RUIN A CLASSIC!! Unless for practical reasons like,installing 30 series fenders and a canopy provides extra safety and lighting for example.

You’re right. That does not sound like your average two cylinder John Deere A. A two cylinder John Deere A, or any other two cylinder John Deere has a putt putt sound. This one sounds like it has more than two cylinders.

Sorry it dose look good but yet a Johnny popper should sound like a Johnny popper and a screamed jimmy should sound like a screaming Jimmy.

Why I don't know why you would do this, but years ago I seen at the Richwood fair someone put a olds. diesel in a John Deere. I think it was a G but not sure.
