In my Red Dead Redemption 2 Chapter 1 walkthrough, I will play every aspect that will help you complete the first set of missions. The game's opening, the Colter chapter, consists of a handful of missions that would kick-start Arthur’s journey into the Wild West.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Chapter 1 Walkthrough
Colter is the name of the very first chapter of Red Dead Redemption 2.
Remember that you won’t have access to the open world during the first few missions. We have six missions in Red Dead Redemption 2 Chapter 1.
Each mission plays a crucial role in setting up the overall story. It prepares you by introducing you to different mechanics of the game. Crucial mechanics include combat, fistfights, gunplay, horse riding, stealth, and assaulting other camps.
The first chapter is a little slow but builds up nicely toward the end. You will be introduced to your gang members. What’s interesting about each mission in every chapter is the optional requirements for earning Gold Medals.
This is a very simple gameplay mechanic of RDR 2. You must meet 2-3 gameplay requirements to earn Gold Medals during a mission. It is like earning the S rank in Metal Gear Solid games.

After the opening cutscene, you will need to follow Dutch. All you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions. Hitch your horse and follow Dutch on foot at the homestead. Cover the shed to your left once the game asks you to.
After you into the direction of Micah, take out your revolver and shoot the man outside the shed when Micah is recognized. After this, you need to protect Dutch. Just stay in cover and pick off enemies.
Once the enemies are picked off, you must follow Dutch into the house. Pick up all of the available collectables.
There are some inside the furniture as well. Head to the barn outside and open the door. You will be jumped by an enemy from behind, deal with and interrogate him.
