Also if sex is your primary aim certainly do not marry as before the wedding the sex will be plentiful but afterwards its frequency is likely to seriously decline, especially if kids come along as your wife is likely to give almost all her energies to them and not you.

I’ve read a lot of the comments here. Surprisingly, no one has mentioned one huge problem with dating / marriage. It’s a package deal, meaning you have to pass muster with parents, sisters, brothers, girlfriends, friends, aunties, cousins, and their children, if any. This is a depressing and impossible task. Not even Jesus Christ, Buddha or Mohammed could make all those people happy. Relationships are a f’n misery. Stay single. Stay happy. If you can afford it, go to Thailand once a year for some pay-for-play. They will try to latch on to you for all your worth, but it seems when you just tell them “I’m butterfly, not looking for girlfriend” they get the message. Then fly home and never think about them again.

Funnily, several decades ago I read about a study that analysed the % of single people vs population for specific geographic locations all around the USA. Manhattan had the 2nd highest concentration of single people. The only location that beat them was a leper colony in Hawaii.

I would say there’s even less single women especially when you consider bi sexual or gay women. It makes sense. There’s more gay/bi women then there are men.

Because I stayed single, I was able to travel to many places in the world, buy a 3 bed flat for cash, eliminate all card and loan debt and, happily retired when I was 52. Downside - limited career & social options and everyone accuses you of being gay, like you’re a criminal or something. Oh well, it was still worth it. Dating and marriage is a financial and emotional death spiral for men when it does not work out, which is too often the case.
