Hey guys, thanks for tuning in! The channel is about the servicing and repairing of Old American Iron. I'm not here doing full-on restorations, I'm a guy in a garage finding ways to keep these old American cars here in the UK running and rolling and fixing stuff that needs fixing. It's fun getting them up and running and bringing them back to life, sometimes with a bit of Make-Do-And-Mend, and as one drives away another one arrives. It keeps me busy and I enjoy the hobby, and hopefully my videos will help you out. You may even learn a trick or two ;) Please hit that subscribe button - it's free this week! Enjoy the videos and thanks for stopping by :)

Fuel Tank Restored With Amazing Results!
Have this exact carb as well. Thanks!!! Did I miss the float adjustments part? Did learn the trick of hearing both floats “clicking” after tightening though. What is US equivalent to the Standard Thinner? Thanks for the vid!!!
You're welcome Stacy. Standard thinners are just cleaning thinners, like a carb cleaner spray can. Luckily I didn't need to adjust the floats on mine, but there will be info out there on the Internet for that, sorry I couldn't help with that, but I'm glad the video helped you out overall 😃👍🏻 SGG
you don't by chance have a breakdown of what each port is for do you? trying to confirm distributor port etc..
Go to 5.00 into the video then watch from there. You'll see the video fade then come back. When it does the vacuum hose is attached from the carburetor to the distributor's vacuum canister. Hope it helps visually. SGG.
@@SortedGeorgeGarage I wasn’t 100% sure that was the distributor line. Thank you
You're very welcome Sir, glad it helped you 🤘🏻😎 SGG
Well done dude, noce one, and respect to Rob for his welding skills.👍 🤠
Cheers fella, his welder is a heck of a lot more powerful than mine that's for sure!! 😳
Tried and tested cleaned by "HCL product" Exclusively within open the inner valve by connecting it to 12 v external battery
The fastest angle grinder operator in the west lol 😂 Nice job done there Julian and Rob
🤣🤣🤣 There's more to come that's for sure 🤘🏻😎
@@SortedGeorgeGarage it will most certainly be a safe and worthy car in the end.
Cheers fella, she certainly will be 😃👍🏻
Nice job!!!!
Thanks Rick 😃👍🏻
Actually the PP-GF30 is just the Material of the plastic Chase Polypropylene with 30% Glasfibre in
Wow! All the work and effort you put in to this project. RESPECT! And always keeping a good mood. Those crossmembers really make a difference. Two thumbs up!
Fantastic job. I love your determination. Can’t wait for the next instalment.
Hey Jon, thanks for the kind words Sir... still plenty to do on this old girl 😃👍
Julian, your perseverance is admirable. Floor work like that is a bitch to do, so here’s a couple of suggestions- get yourself a Sawzall so you can give the wheel of death a rest! Also if you rest the car on wooden wheel cribs, the body flex is more manageable and you can minimize floor twisting since the wheel cribs emulate the car resting on the ground. Crack on! 😎
Thanks Jo Daddy. I've managed to pick up an air saw like a hacksaw, so that'll help me out in the future, and I understand the idea behind the wheel cribs, I never thought of that thankyou 👍
All that work was clearly worth it. Well done! I have a small section of frame rail on the back of my '79 Dodge St. Regis in need of repair, not nearly as much as what you had to do. The big job for me will be replacing the K frame with one I got last weekend. My front frame rails are good but the original K-member rusted away where the rear passenger bushing bolts in. Your Coronet is a direct ancestor to my St. Regis.
Hey Patrick, thankyou Sir I do my best as always. I know sometimes a video can take a while to appear on the channel but sometimes there's a lot of work to do just for a half hour video. I'm sure you'll breeze that K Member replacement young Sir 🙃👍
@@SortedGeorgeGarage Young? It's been awhile since anyone has called me that! That's an old photo of me on my profile. I'm 62, young enough in my head to go out there and do it and old enough to pay for it the next morning!😜 Well, at least I won't have to soak the k member bolts for six months since replacing the bushings was how I found the rust damage. That should help at least. It's okay if videos take awhile, they're always worth the wait. 👍
This is the nicest Repair of a Torsion bar that I have come across . Nicely done. I also like the logical thought process on diagnosing the Tension on the Torsion bar. I like the way you think..... Look forward to the next video.
Thankyou Sir, I appreciate your kind comment. I hope someone doing the same job as this won't make the silly mistake I did. If they do then I hope they can diagnose it in the same way 👍
That fabricated crossmember is a work of art. Great job! 👏👍
Thankyou Sir, I tried my best. It turned out really well in the end.... even I was impressed with it 🤣🤣
Well done, all looking good! Lot of time and effort goes into this kinda work, can be soul destroying at times, a lot of people don’t realise what goes into this! Onwards and upwards! 👍👍👍🤠
Cheers fella. Alot of work went into this like you say. Things like this need to be right otherwise things go out of alignment quite easily. Onwards and upwards 🤘🏻😎
Brilliant work ... Loving the outtakes 😅
Got to have a laugh these days 🤣🤣

Hey Julian... It turned out very nice... Looking forward to seeing my Vesper done!
Don't worry Eder Vesper will be done soon enough 😃👍🏻 Don't forget that truck of yours too!
@@SortedGeorgeGaragehave you seen the emails I sent you? I'm trying to bring the truck home today. I'll give you more details soon
Good job well done dude 👍🤠
Cheers bud, It's getting there slowly...!!
Julian, I'm impressed with your versatility! Very good job!
Thankyou Eder, I do my best 😄👍
Nice job! The driver’s side always seems to be the worst - I think from the salty slush that accumulates in the middle of the road here in wintertime. Had the driver’s side torsion bar mount let go on my ‘67 Coronet with a car full of friends with me many years ago - it was quite a bang!
Thanks Rick! Turned out pretty good in the end 😃👍🏻 Maybe that's why she's so crusty then because of the salty roads... I never thought of that. I had a '69 Satellite that had a torsion bar let go while I was stood next to it... that made me jump I can tell you! Snapped in the middle of the bar!(I've got a photo somewhere...) 👍🏻
Holy crap! Amazing work done! That crossmember looks like it came from mother Mopar herself. In Germany that car would never get back on the road, it would go into crusher. That would be to much rot on the frame. And German inspection doesn't like welding work done on the frame. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Germany.
Thankyou Martin, that's very kind of you. Thankfully our MoT isn't as strict as Germany, but if it was then I'd have had to replace the whole crossmember. She's all nice and strong now 😃👍🏻 SGG
Another intricately detailed episode from SG! 😊 A pleasure to watch so I'm a little puzzled why you don't get more views 🤔 Did I hear correctly that you paid your friend the equivalent of $1500 for that welding job? Anyway, if you're still looking for a title for the new channel where fans can show off their rides, how about "Cruisin' with Julian'"? Lol 😄
Hey Robert! Thankyou Sir I appreciate your comments as always. I too am a little puzzled as to why my watch rate is low compared to other channels like mine... the only thing I can think of is that I'm in the UK 😮 No I didn't pay my friend to do the welding Sir, I was referring to the price of his welder compared to mine, that's why his would burn the sun and mine won't even burn paper 😂 I'm not doing a new channel, I'm just adding in a section to the usual videos I do just to interact with the people who tune in. I hope it works, but so far no takers.... probably due to the low watch count. You'll have to spread the word for me Robert 🤘🏻😎 "Cruisin' with Julian" works good, Sarah likes that! I've got "Viewer's V8's" (not everyone has a V8 but all engines welcome), "People's Projects" and "Watchers Wheels" so far.... 😃👍🏻
Impressive work, you are very meticulous!
Thankyou Guy, I can be very meticulous at times.... just ask the wife - she calls it "being pedantic" 🤣🤣🤣
Looking great! Quite the challenge!!!
You know me RLT, I like a challenge 😁
You're a real craftsman George. A real pleasure to watch. And a nice guy on top of it 👍
Thankyou Marc for your kind comments, I do try my best 😊 😁
Impressive work.
Thankyou Pro 😃👍🏻
Thank you for the video, very helpful.
Glad it helped Dan 👍
I was stumped. Thank you for this video.
Glad it helped you out 🙃
Wow! Glad it wasn’t as bad as you thought dude, good luck with the refab. 🤠
Cheers Dude! It's getting there 😁
It is what it is……….
Yeah I guess so...
Comes to something when the carpet is stronger than the car
🤣🤣 Yeah tell me about it!!! 🤣🤣
Pull the dash and front fenders. Fix the upper and lower cowl. Drain holes get clogged and leaks into the floor pan. Wiper shaft seals also bad.
I'll have a look, thanks 👍
Actually, that floor is pretty typical for a New England B-body - maybe the PO meant “the floors have no rot” because fiberglass doesn’t rot…. Looking forward to watching the fabrication!
Thanks Rick! You're right.... fiberglass doesn't rot 🤣 ...but everything else has though 😆
I'll be following your frame rail repair with great interest. I saw the videos out of order, so I saw how utterly horrible the floors are. It's mind blowing how over torqued the drain plug was on the oil pan. Wish Chrysler had put a drain plug on the transmission pan. What I do now is to get one of those hand pumps with the clear plastic hose and insert it down the transmission dipstick tube and then pump out as much fluid as possible. The mess coming off the pan is greatly reduced.
Hey Patrick! You're going to love this one 👍 The floor isn't quite as bad as it first looked, but it's close!! The sill is going to need work too, but we'll get there..... oh and yes - a transmission drain plug would be such a help!
The Coronet is in good hands now, but wow, that floorboard! Made so much worse by "fixing it". I can't believe anyone would just tie the seat belts to the seat when the anchors for the belts should already be there.
Thankyou Patrick, I'll certainly do my best for the old girl! I must admit the seat belt bit made me chuckle.... they literally just disappeared 🤣
5:27 - Frame and lower sheet metal rust points to this beast being a daily driver in the American _"Rust Belt."_ Certain states would (and still do) salt their roads in the winter to help prevent black ice from forming on roads.
I agree she's been driven as a daily for many years, but she's also been sat up somewhere where it's continuously got wet / dry / wet / dry for a while due to evidence on the crank pulley (you'll see this in a video coming to a screen near you soon!) 😁
Great videos George. Would love to see more ✅
Keep watching Marc, there's plenty more to come 👍
@@SortedGeorgeGarage be careful with the mouse droppings. You can get a bad virus from that stuff. Wear a mask when you're cleaning that crap up 😉
21:36 - Yikes! That is some impressive junk. Glad it's running great regardless. I forget if you prefer running conventional vs synthetic oil. I highly recommend switching to a synthetic. My 65's 383 loves it. It really has reduced lifter ticking on cold morning starts.
That's the weird thing RLT she run's as-sweet-as! I think the motor has stood for a long time with just the rare occasional start to move the car around the yard from one end to the other and that's about it. Thankfully it's just dried oil rather than rust! 😎👍
Holy moly! _Classic Industries_ is going to love you! They have a lot of items that will help you with the 65's sheet metal woes. I wonder if this beast spent time on the coast or in northern US where they salt the roads in winter? Do you have a history on it yet?
Hey RLT! No history buddy sorry other than it's a 273 🙃 Classic Industries would love me if I had the money 🤣🤣 I think being a New Hampshire car the weather isn't too good sometimes, but I think she's been sat in a yard in the grass where she's got wet, dried out, got wet, dried out... and the beat goes on....!
I am building a 64 Polara, The torsion bar crossmember on mine was pretty clean. I installed the full floor from AMD, - they have the floors in stock now. Shipping might be an issue.
Yeah unfortunately shipping would be a problem for a full floor pan.. probably would cost as much as the car 🤣🤣🤣
Don't have a 904 Transmission but watched it anyway! Good demo! 👍
Thanks bud 👍
Greetings from New England! Enjoying watching you resurrect the ‘65 Coronet and looking forward to more. Now, I’ve got to get back under my ‘66 Satellite….
Hey Rick, Thanks for tuning in bud 👍 I shall have some fun with this one... Lots of welding and panel making. I can't buy the chassis rails or transmission crossmember so I'll have to make those. Challenge accepted 😃
You’re a brave man. Love the video.
Thanks Jon.. we'll get there fella! So long as she stays on the road and doesn't visit the crusher then I'm happy! 🙂👍
Wow, what a ball ache dude! I think you're right about being sat in water, or maybe done sort of flood plain over winter. Can't believe the nuts, some finger tight and some locked solid! You're giving SM a run with all those out-takes too. 😂🤠
Love doing the bloopers... adds a bit of fun to the videos 🤣 Yeah she's definitely been sat where she got wet and dry for a while that's for sure!! 👍
Another tough cookie there Julian, loved the bloopers at the end.
Yeah she's not too bad. I guess it could have been worse... Glad you like the bloopers 👍🤣🤣
like your videos You are partly to blame for me buying a 66 Newport 🤓 You explain things simply and patiently You've done a lot of work here Looking forward to the next video Best regards Toni
Toni thankyou for your kind words Sir, I'm very happy to hear that I'm partly to blame for you buying a Mopar!! Especially a C Body!! 😃 I do my best to help show people how easy things are to repair or replace, and hopefully they can learn from what I do and find confidence to have a go themselves without having to pay out too much if anything at all 🙂👍
Very enjoyable watch! Yep, keep up the good work and looking forward to the next episode! A voyage of discovery! Interesting the difference us Brits have to safety to the Americans, “does it run? Yes, does it stop? Kind of, does it go forwards and backwards? Sort of... can you see the road beneath your feet? Not really.. (carpet covering the holes) then it’s a good car! 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks bearsey, I do my best to bring these old girl's back from the brink of being parted out. It keeps these old classics on the road and any classic saved it fine in my book! 😀👍
I started following you because I'm restoring my 1968 New Yorker and enjoyed the way you did your 1966.
