    Glad I found this review you guys did a great job (especially you Mom!) Watching this definitely helped me decide to get the Namakan 7, I think my cats will really like the little annex with it's ventilated roof it seems like a great place for their litter box. I look forward to checking out your other vids you guys make a very nice family, take care!

    I recently bought this tent as they are on clearance at Target for $21. Since it is winter and I wanted to see what it looked like, I setup in the family room. It was easy to setup by myself and I like the solid single pass tubes that the poles slide through. No playing around in the center top! I think that this would make a nice 2-person tent. I like the ventilation and I like the little passthrough for an electrical cord. And although an adult wouldn't quite have room to stand up without bending it is an airy and spacious tent. The height, though, would seem to make it not too good in the wind. I am not crazy about the reddish coloring but its fine. Although it is lite it certainly feels like a budget tent but it might hold up well (minus the wind). I think the spring cords in poles would have been a little more springy and the poles feel a little cheap but the metal collars that the poles slip into seem nice. I think Coleman did a nice job with the bag as well. For me this would be perfect for a couple on a budget that wants to leave the tarp off in good weather (as with most tents) and maybe put a tarp up above the tent and would probably work for late spring, early autumn and summer.

    Hi guys, friend recently recived this tent as a gift, but without poles. Could you measure and post lenghts of pole parts, diameters and lenghts - it would help a lot so we can custom made them (poles) out of plexiglass. Or does anybody knows is there place anywhere online where we can order just poles for this tent especially ?

    curiosity, i would use this for scout camping with my 8yr old son. would it fit 2 cots? cots are 74.8 L x 27.6 W x 7.8 H inches and then id like some room in between cots to walk, clothes bag, ect.. im looking because i have a 6 person and its great, but too much for a quick 1 to 2 day camp for 2 people

    • @automaticdrip
      @automaticdrip 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have one of these tents and it is rectangular, not square. My cot only fits across the back (or front) wall - the side walls are not long enough for my (vintage, regular size) cot. My cot takes up almost the entire length of the back wall - enough room to stick tent bag etc on the floor at the foot, but not much else. You could put two cots in this, but they would probably be touching, and one would be across the front door.

    Adventures of MMG - Glad to see the review, but: What's the level of difficulty (maybe on a scale of 1-10) of *one* person setting up that tent (the ones on the sides - not the one in the middle)? Someone else had that question too (a year ago).

    • @recondrone6826

      it's easy..one person can set it up in less than 10 mins...I have two of those tents and my 14 year old daughter can set them up.. once you set them up a couple times and know the basics of set up it's very user friendly.. actually taking it down and putting it back in the carrier is harder

    • @automaticdrip
      @automaticdrip 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      i set this up for the first time recently, by myself, in the dark, in the rain (before i watched this video). It was doable, but frustrating. Took a half hour instead of 10 minutes, and then the inside was totally wet. It might go quicker the next time. (or if i had light)

  • @AJ-yw7hf
    @AJ-yw7hf 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a typo correction: 11:08-12 : The fly is nice with the overhang so that you can still have a window open if there's a little bit of light *rain* (not lane).

I know this review is 3 years old, but I just picked this tent up and was hoping for some real time comments on how it worked out for you. Any issues? Leaking? Were you pretty satisfied with the Namakan? THanks in advance!

      @@adventuresofmmg8445 hello, I've purchased the tent and i love it. It is so spacious, however the awning pole is missing the ring that is at the end of pole to stay put through the loop. Not sure if that makes sense. iI can Not get it to stay because it literally goes through the loop and punctures the tent itself. Has anyone run into this, if so how can i fix it? I've tried looking up the piece to fix it but no . Not even Coleman sells the awning poles by themselves.

      @@lupitadamian9062 I don't think any of the tents that we've reviewed have anything on the pole itself they usually have either a pocket on the fly or they have a ring / grommet on the tent that the pole fits into.

    I just bought this as my new foul-weather tent (I always keep 2 tents, 1 for fair weather, 1 for foul), because as an old-fashioned dome style, it just catches less wind than straighter-walled cabin types. A 6-person tent is a lovely spacious bedroom for just me, as I camp hen, & the non-neon colour scheme make it at least liveably #aesthetic, for me, as a goth. Reviews seemed great; like an oldie, but a goodie. I'm happy. :-)

  • @FyourIocals

    I have a question, do you like the flimsy stakes? And when you ran the poles thru what did you connect them to without the stakes in place? I went to set this up at a campsite and of course for me it took forever even though I already watched your video and when I went to go hammer the stakes in they bent. I see you didn't hammer the stakes in some I'm curious how to anchor the poles until the stakes are hammered in. I am buying some better ones in the morning

    I've this tent for probably 10 years. I put it by myself all the time in 10 - 15 minutes. Cake. Great tent. The earlier version had better storage spots but that's the only difference. A GREAT feature of this tent - the floor tarp turns up the side for 6"-12". A lot of tents leak at the bottom seam where the sidewall meets the tarp floor as rain builds up. you can use this with no tarp underneath( although I usually do use one) as it is impossible for water to get in since there is no seam.
