1:05 dude, for insert midi.. command and left drag mouse in TCP..
That's another way :) I like doing it related to Time Selection or Grid Size without worrying about Snap.
Thanks for the breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
I have no idea, sorry.
Cool! Please tell us in detail about the routing matrix. For example, virtual channels 3-4 for the sidechain, are they unique for this sidechain? or are they global for the whole project? If I sent a sidechain from a kick track to a bass track through virtual channels 3-4 and if I make another sidechain between piano and synth through channels 3-4, then the kick will affect the synth track? Thanks!
Some Virtual Instruments use 3 - 4 for FX only Output, or Second Layer Built In. They are not global, the are Channels, pero Track. Probably the Syntj would listen to that Kick as well, just curious... why not do it from the Kick as well?
What's the mouse software that you use, please? Seems great! Good video, my Reaper brother

How to add stretch markers to the transients in the item automatically on the grid we select, not on the grid lines in Reaper?
@@alphoc9201 You can change the grid size before, so you can add then where you want. Or am I missing something frlm your question?
A lot of great, really useful information here (as always!)
Thx for watching! ❣️
I just recently stumbled upon your channel great stuff! I know this is random but is there an action or script for reaper that allows the folder tracks in the TCP and MCP to be closed simultaneously?
Let me check, I think I looked for one & couldn't find one. Maybe I can try and make a script for that.
@@itsoundshuman OMG 😱 THANKS!!!!!🙌 I’d greatly appreciate it!
have to watch and rewatch and watch re watch this...zeh multiple times. dope tips
What a great idea! Thank you so much for this - it's going to be very helpful!
Oh man, thank you! Having a round up of many updates its great. I also mostly stick to protools because I just find Reaper too daunting to keep up
BIG thanks for the shortcut to resize the UI and everything, new to Surge here. I find u made a great job with this vid. subbed
Thx! I ran into it by accident & I use it all the time. I should make a video on Surge Keyboard Shortcuts. If this comment get's 20 likes?
@@itsoundshuman Yea u should , but... i rarely get 20 likes on my comments tho ;p maybe you should consider just 10, im cursed hahah
28:14 - render to new file is useful for audio items. You can actually drag to outside of reaper window and make a new wav file. Its also a good way to take a file from your timeline and import it into a sampler. That's a very old feature btw
Thx for watching! :) Means a lot
Thanks for the Video Juan, Good Stuff!

Prueba y me dices.
Stock eq will not make a huge difference across the board
Eq as a single process of changing Amplitude of a Fq won't. BUT if you are using some interesting plugin that also has some harmonic content to it as it EQs, it's hard to match those curves.
si senior, some good points made on over use of the plugins , keep em comin
My question is when you drag the bar lines to line up with the transients how do you get it to snap to the transient (or to the cursor since I can use a key command to get the cursor to snap to the transient)?
I use the Play Cursor as Snap. So I use Move the Playback cursor to next transient to find it, then I drag the bar line to that. If it doesn't work, lmk, I'm not on a computer atm.
I tried setting playback cursor as snap but it didnt seem to snap to it. Not sure why
@Diegel :O When I'm at the computer I'll check again. Maybe I forgot a step.
So I'm checking & the steps... Open Master Track Show Tempo Envelope Shift + Left Clic on Tempo Envelope to Add Point. This Adds New Bar Up Top. Cmd on Mac / Ctrñ on PC + Left Click & Drag should Snap to Cursor when you are really close.... I use a lot of Zoom in & Out Commands on my keyboard, combined with the Marquee Zoom Tool in Mouse Modifiers & this action "View: Restore previous zoom level" On the Grid Setting Menu you can also modify the distance from where it snaps in Pixels but apparently it's not working for Dragging Timeline. Only for Media Item and other Arragement things like Media Item Dragging, etc...
@@itsoundshuman I followed these steps but it is still not snapping
the act of streamlining your workflow speaks to me in so many ways, because most times I just forego of the prep stage and jump right in. what this leads to is clutter. an obscene amount of. I will definitely have to rethink how I approach things because of the fundamentals of what you said. Thanks!
Tune in next week, I will keep on sharing more on this. In the meantime you can look at the extra videos I linked in the description, so you can better thing of the workflow. :)
Nice tips and workflows.
You could try tarot cards instead of a random generator.
Maybe you know how to automatically make a send to a specific track? i think of something like that Lokasenna actions but where it is already destined that it's going to a track, say, named "reverb".
Hi! I do remember the Lokasenna, but my fail with that is that you have to write the name just as it is. Op2: Shift + CMD + Left Click, opens a Menu for send. Op3: Create send between selected tracks and track under mouse cursor There's another one in the Reapack but it sends the Selected FX into a new Track and creates a Send into it. Something like Create Send from Focused Track & it appears under FX Category.
@@itsoundshuman Thanks, that's cool but not what I'm trying to achieve. I have a midi controller and I wanted to replicate a hardware console behavior, where I would send a track to a reverb with a knob or a button. Creating every new track with an active, but muted send to a reverb, would do the job but what a mess it would be as well. I'm guessing this all can be done with ReaLearn plugin but this is beyond my capabilities at the moment. This is frustrating, because that Lokasenna action is really close to what I want. A template where I would type the name of the send track into the code and save it as an action would be sufficient.
In REAPER I use FX Chains to organise plugins because this allows a) nested folders b) different presets depending where in the structure you loaded from. Have lately been playing with Bitwig and really missing this option!
That's a great way to use them! Thx for sharing :)
I was just wondering yesterday if there was a way of comparing peak to rms then this video pops up, thanks.
Can I ask what your Reaper Theme is? It looks great.
It's in the description of the video with a link. :)
@@itsoundshuman Sorry - I missed that.
@tonyrapa-tonyrapa All good! :)) Did you find it?
@@itsoundshuman Yes, thanks 👍
I love how you angrily turned up the controls to demonstrate how stupid the fast mode can be haha
🤣🤣🤣
Phenomenally informative video as usual!
I wish reaper would let you take screenshots of plugin GUI for plugin browser like cubase and studio one.
Gran video tocayo, gracias! In reaper I have various custom folders besides favorites just like you but my folders are also with premade-chains and some by category and whenever I add a new one I immediately drop it into a "NEW" folder, test it and if its good enough then I move it to its corresponding folder and that could be favorite or whatever it will rest. If i dont like it or need it that much but its useful for specific cases I drop it in a "dont forget" folder.
Yes! Saving FX Chains is also a great add to this. +10000
I actually had made plenty of specific folders, also recently made track templates for intruments
This is a really good video, Ive had Nova for a few years now and I didn't know about the expansion feature! really cool, gracias!!
You are the best. Thanks for educating us all on such important, overlooked topics like gain staging, and in such a compelling way!
Great content thanks, i'm looking for a good controller for Live performance ( mix dub music)... ! i'm just visiting your channel for the first time, good luck 🙏
@@BigRasProd Livid Instruments has some omder models great for that! Or check their DS1 among other options.
@@itsoundshuman thanks a lot, i will definitely check it soon !
"This product is no longer available!" 🥺😭
@BigRasProd they have several models discountinued, look for them second hand. They are fantastic or any of the newer options. For Dub I really like the distribution of stuff that looks more like a mixer.
@@itsoundshuman Yes I'm looking for second hand... not so easy in France ! I've seen the Novation Launch Control XL but it looks cheap to me 🤓
Or you just buy an Arturia 16RIG and get all of your questions covered in one piece. By acquiring each type of hardware piece by piece in your setup, you can effectively manage the grow against your budget. But with Focusrite, you'll have to get everything powered at all time. Sometimes, even with the computer on (found out that the hard way, bye focusrite). The recent hardwares allow both Dawless and assisted workflows. A game changer.
Some hardwares remember the routing they were last set to. Some don't, I saw the 16 Rig, but that's a bigger buy. Despite me loving Arturia I have never had the chance to test their interfaces properly.
Veeery Niiice!
Theem name plz❤
stay away from Audient. the volume knob on mine got faulty not long after i bought it. the volume goes up by just touching the knob. they offered repairing but i had to send it and left me with no audio interface for two weeks or so.
I'm sorry yours was faulty, but they did offer a solution. Many people don't get support at all. 2 weeks isn't that long, did you take the offer?
I think you misunderstood something about thunderbolt. => it's an active standard that is being used and very useful. What you were thinking about was Thunderbolt 2, which is on the way out, but Thunderbolt 3 and 4 use the usb c plug and are superior to usb c. It's a bit confusing with all the standards, but for professional use, I would rather have a thunderbolt connection than a USB one.
This an importante clarification. I have very clear the data options, but I probably should have shown the type of connector I want to stay completely away from, that Thunderbolt squared one. Despite that, I think the average user doesn'know USB C is Thunderbolt ;) that's why I went that way. Thx for watching.
Have you watched the RME video about usb? It's quite convincing about the superiority of usb 2 in most, not all(!), cases. (Maybe given the drivers are good...)
@@waldemarheart2463 I have to check it out, but honestly for audio USB 2 is already a lot. I'll come back after watching it.
@@waldemarheart2463 I've read their article about it and I agree, USB2 is for most cases more than enough. My point was not to say it's bad, but that many of the higher end interfaces use thunderbolt and by leaving them out by ignoring thunderbolt in this video, people miss out on some interfaces that might be better suited for them, than the ones that have the "only" USB2.
@@jonas.stolle Yes sure, would be great to see more Thunderbolt interfaces in the video, I didn't mean to disagree with that point! I only wanted to question that thunderbolt is more professional for Audio than USB. I just find it remarkable that a highly professional brand like RME states that "superb audio quality and low latency are independent from the chosen connector" and prefers USB over Thunderbolt for most applications because it's "inexpensive, widely accepted, has enough bandwidth and will be supported for years to come". Side note: over the last year I had a Thunderbold interface from Antelope. Bad drivers I think: Thunderbolt wasn't recognized anymore after half a year, they couldn't solve it, had to switch to the USB port...
When you're talking about power around the 16:00 mark, there's some misinformation here. Yes USB is 5V but volts is not power. Power (Watts) is Volts * Amps. 5V at the current that USB can provide is plenty to drive a few line-level channels. I am an electronics engineer, and a SW engineer that worked on USB devices. If you want any clarification or further explanation, just ask. Edit: I apologise, I think the word 'misinformation' is too strong, replace with 'inaccuracy' or 'misunderstanding' maybe.
Hey! Thx for adding on the comment. I know my comment was vague, but I tried to make it vague enough, I agree with you. It's already a 40 min video with no deep engineering content. Headphones, speakers and microphones will suffer when there's little to feed from on that I think we can agree! I'll pin your comment. Thx ❣️ [Edit] Probably there my english is missing something, but I just watched again that fragment. As far as I remember when you "power something" you are turning it on. I'm not really talking about specific units, although the comment on 5V is close enough to maybe be understood by that. Lmk if I'm missing something in my translation to english. :)
I have gone thru at leat 4 from cheap to mixer to finally be happy with mine, Presonous AR12, tho they did release some new models that would have suited me too, maybe for a next update
Very informative, thanks!
Very useful. Thanks.
Really love your videos! Miss your CMD+L, just SHIFT double clic your item, time selection is created
I'll test this one! [Edit] Great shortcut, I didn't know about it! 🙏
@@itsoundshuman … and I learn too from your videos haha. Reaper is crazy
Did you quit teaching because you were crazy like batshite?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
my two main concerns were price and size (for fitting in the keyboard drawer on my desk), so i opted for a super cheapo Taiwanese keyboard with 32 mini keys, a few knobs, pitch & modwheels - key size can be a big issue for some people but i don't mind mini keys too much, so long as they're not TINY
Yeah! That can be a really strange feeling. I hope you can still take advantage of the other features, does it have knobs, pads, etc...?
@@itsoundshuman 1 inf. data knob, 3 regular knobs, no pads or faders but that's ok, it was only $50. Keys are a little stiff and velocities are pretty undifferentiated haha. I can always upgrade in 6 months when it breaks!
I could config my controllers but I am actually pretty lazy hehe. Nice work Juan. I did config my xtouch mini tho but use often just some basic stuff
