    Can you choose any hall you want? Or does it depend on your major

    • @llamab1769
      @llamab1769 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can choose any hall, you're more likely to get your choice if a certain ARC or RC that you're accepted into is in that hall

    • @AlvyMacias
      @AlvyMacias 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dorms are on a "first come, first serve" basis. The sooner you sign the "letter of intent" the sooner you apply for housing and thus the better chance of getting your top-pick dorm. Dorms are not specific to majors.

    Could you do an explanation of duck bucks and the meal plan point system? It's so confusing-

    • @llamab1769
      @llamab1769 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Duck bucks you get 50$ per term to use in the duck store or the fast food places in the EMU like panda express, chipotle, starbucks etc. and the meal points you use to pay for dinner at the different places on campus I'd say a typical meal is about 5-6points and snacks vary I'd say the standard plan is probably the best one to get if you're not much of a snacker

    • @llamab1769
      @llamab1769 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you're just more likely to get accepted into the arc if its your decided major. Also I think for some you're required to take classes together so take that into consideration (also yes i do attend UO rn i'm a sophmore)

    • @SharonSherpa
      @SharonSherpa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! From what I've seen GSH has pretty spacious rooms and lot's of storage space. Plus they have amazing natural lighting from the large windows! The bathrooms are communal but are very new and the showers have stalls rather then curtains which is a lot better in my opinion! Hope this helped :) I also have another video specifically talking about the dorms which will have more info if you need!

    • @bethanygates864
      @bethanygates864 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I stayed in Riley. The rooms are a lot bigger than most two person dorms. Each room also has a sink mirror area, so you don't need to take a much of your gear to the shower area. Big windows, and two floors of rooms. Main floor was lounge, music area, kitchen and study rooms. Downside was it was a further walk to classes, and no cafeteria in the building.

    Question- Global scholars hall , the four person does everyone have there own room?

    • @SharonSherpa
      @SharonSherpa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For the four person suite, everyone has their own bed, and closet but I'm pretty sure you share on large room. Also I think because of COVID the University of Oregon will only allow two people to share a room. Hope this helps!

  • @candengutierrez1628
    @candengutierrez1628 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Also I had a vehicle on campus, and overnight camping IS EXPENSIVE. If you’re comfortable riding even with COVID going on, ride the bus at Greyhound to go back home if you want to save on parking, gas and insurance🙏🏼 cheap rides to Portland under $20!

    • @audreyGmoney
      @audreyGmoney 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm coming from Texas and was planning on bringing my car because I don't know anybody in Oregon, nor do I have a backup place to visit/stay besides campus. I was planning on paying for overnight on campus so I can use my car to explore the other cities and stuff. Do you think it's worth it or should I rely on the bus?

    • @candengutierrez1628
      @candengutierrez1628 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Audrey Money I would definitely bring it still! I live four hours away from campus yet I brought my car for easy access to home and the city. The commute on the bus can take up to an hour or more depending on which mall you go, so it’s definitely and investment on time and money. Plus you can visit the corners of Oregon cheap depending on how much gas your car takes. I was just saying it was expensive and to take the bus for those stressing that it was ABSOLUTELY necessary to bring a car. You can get by and get places still without one:)
