Planned to fly from KHUA or 06A but the ceilings weren't having it. Decided to, then do pattern work, but the winds weren't having it.

Third attempt to do a X/C to Marion Co (KAPT), it was obscured by TONS of low level clouds from the Tennessee river.

Thanks for posting. What DPE did you use for your check Ride? I'm in GA KRYY

This might be better without the music so that it is easier to make out what you are saying, even if it's running through your checklists and normal comms. Or at least put the music substantially lower. Thanks for sharing

Got some time in at least.

Love it
Sorry I have missed some of your recent flights Tim. Got all caught up in life affairs. Still love to hear all the radio traffic. Makes me feel like I'm right there with you. Pancakes!! Yah, I wouldn't have missed that. Yummy!!😊😊
Great video and fantastic centerline tracking.
Just a quick note, “last call” is not an FAA authorized transmission when leaving the traffic pattern even though you hear it often. Enjoy your flying.
@@DouglasClaybrook yeah, I know, one of those bad habits that's HARD to break.
did you stop in Shelbyville....

Just curious. Do you rent this plane. Not to be too nosey but what did this flight cost you. I'm interested in getting my license but do not have any idea of the cost of a casual flight such as this.
@@ErnestColeFishing the cost of renting a 172 is really going to depend on where you are and a host of other things, around here, the cost is $120-$150 and that is a "wet" rate, meaning you don't pay for gas. The flight was around 2hrs of Hobbes time so it was a little under $300. If you're planning on flying over 100 or so hours per year, it actually is cheaper to buy a plane. You have to do all the math to make your decision. You can also look into joint ownership of a plane to lower your costs also.
Great flight Tim. Enjoyed the views of the Tennessee River. Thanks for the heads-up of your flight.
Thank YOU, and you're welcome.
Just to add in my previous comment. I took a introductory course in flying and loved it. Got to fly the single single engine Piper aircraft. Climbed to I believe 2500 ft maybe higher, got to do turns ajusting throttle, bring back craft to level, ajusting trim when needed. The instructor was letting me bring the plane down to the airfield for landing but found there were cross winds coming across the airfield and he took over. I still have very found memories of that time and often talk about it. My unkle had his own plains that he owned and flew for many years. He died in his airplane several years ago flying in a mountainis area flew into low lying electrical wires and perished. Flew in helicopters in Germany in the Army. I loved flying but didn't think I could afford flight school to get my license. Then either buying or renting a plane and cost of fuel. Loved watching you fly. Brought back all those good memories. Thank you and keep flying.
@@ronaldpurvis4293 thank you so much.
Where is Muscle Shouls. I've heard of this place but don't remember where it was. You landed and then took off again. Are you just getting flying hours in?
@@ronaldpurvis4293 Muscle Shoals is in north west Alabama it's probably best know for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, The Swampers. Yeah, I'm time building.

Nice soundtrack
I keep trying to figure out which one is you flying over my house! There has been a ton of air traffic to KHUA lately! We are apparently right on the flight path for small aircraft and sometimes "Big Daddy"! 😂
I’m the one doing it at 6am on Saturdays and the random Tuesday. 😂 Hopefully you all are well.
keep up the good work
Nice Morning flight. Well done.

What of aircraft is this ?
Cessna 172.
Very nice Flight! Nothing like a good cross country flight to make for a great day. Keep flying high. Blue skies, and tailwinds!
these are my favorite types of videos, great hearing the thought process out loud too. looked like a nice cross country to me, good weather too!

Good flight pilot. You look like you got the hang of it 53 minutes later. 😂
The only things I didn't like were the turns around a point and that last landing, only because I got the stall warning horn at about five feet, had I set my power at 1500rpm I think that last one would have been smooth like butter.
You gonna take the kids up?
It would be nice if we could see the instruments instead of out of the left window.
The lighting sucks below the glareshield, especially during the morning glare.
Keep moving forward, Tim!😄
