Luv Truck Garage
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 ม.ค. 2016
A few How to Videos plus an on going build history of my 1972 V8 Chevy Luv. This truck was built to be a dependable and fun to drive vehicle. It is not fast by todays standards but it is fast enough. Nothing special really.

Shuffling Luvs and trying to beat the arrival of winter. Little Bobby gives up his motor to help a fellow Luv owner and TH-camr Jason and his truck called Luv Bomb. Just days before the first snow of 2025.

Beautiful truck
Thanks for helping me out! I've got the timing cover off, scrubbed all the gunk off it, and a coat of paint. Ready to install!
I'm glad I could help. I'm looking forward to your video!
I wouldn't call it copying, I'm glad I could help you find some inspiration!
You are 100% right on that. Thank you!
You're putting a V8 in Bobbie too?! That's awesome! Those headers look like nice, I think you should go for it! Do you have an engine already picked out?
I am not sure how far I will go with Bobby, mostly body mods for now. Picking a motor is way off in the future.
@@LuvTruckGarage oh, alright.
Awful good of you to help out the guy who needed some parts. Always nice to see a video from you Tim.
Thanks Brian, I was happy to pass it on to a Luv owner in need. Jason should have a nice truck when its finished.
where did you get you front light chrome bezels?
Thanks for watching! They were chrome from the factory on some years. They used to paint over the chrome and leave a chrome ring around the headlights but the whole bezel is chrome underneath. I did a video on how to remove the paint here: th-cam.com/video/dMtXsRiVm_M/w-d-xo.html
So on the brakes all I need on my 79luv is the rotors and calipers from a 1985 trooper and everything should bolt right up?
@@6010rod You would keep your factory LUV calipers but the 85 Trooper rotors fit the stock LUV hubs perfect. Trooper calipers are different and won't work, 👍
Hey man! You left me a comment last year about having a LUV parts motor if I needed anything for my rebuild. I've just gotten most of my parts back from the machine shop and starting to reassemble but it looks like I need two things, I'm hoping you might have them. 1. The timing cover on the front of the engine. Mine has a huge crack near the oil pump. 2. One of the little rubber half-moon pieces that goes below the rocker cover on both ends of the head. I seem to have misplaced one of mine. If you have either of these things I'd be glad to drive down to Hot Springs to pick them up and pay you something for the parts!
PM Sent 👍
Working on mine
Hey Tim! Just came across your videos great stuff! Would u happen to have part number for the proportioning valve that you used ?
Howdy and Welcome. The Wilwood part number is 260-8419. Around $50 at Summit. Good Luck!
That bobbed bed was a great improvement !!
Looking very good Tim 😊
Thanks Don 😎
Looking good 👍🏼
Hey that looks great. The tool looks like it's working fine
Thanks for the tool review. I'll soon be to the point where I'll need to start stripping and doing bodywork on my 74. I've seen these from Eastwood pop up on my feeds and wondered from the average Joe how well they work. I found the angle grinder with this type of wheel works great for nooks and crannies but suck on large flat surfaces.
Thanks for watching. The tool works great and does a nice job. I wore out the 40 grit drum on the cab and my HF is out of stock on them for 3 weeks now!
Hey Tim ! Thanks for sharing. That tool looks like it can get the job done.
Howdy Brian, Thanks for watching! I am real happy with the tool. I think the bed will be the worst of it.
Nice, door looking good! hope you'll keep getting the nice weather. 👍
Thanks & I hope so too!
Cool Tool, That Turned Out Nice.
Thanks 👍
U could use an angle grinder with the same pad u have ... they work good 😊
I did see a video with an angle grinder after I bought it. I guess we will see how this one holds up.
Can u show how to connect an aftermarket stereo on one of these ...
I just have the factory AM radio in my 72. The last stereo I installed had a red wire and a black wire and 4 speaker wires. Simple times.
Thank you. I have been looking for videos of a "regular" guy using rhis on a real world project. Thank you for rhis. They should swnd you free rolls for life considering how many you have peobably sold for them
Thanks for watching. I am as reugular as a guy gets lol. I am down for the free rolls!
Hello, thanks for producing your series. We are working on a 77' that had a Baja 4x4 conversion. my question is; I watched the brake series and here in the last video i see you have Disks on the rear too. Did i miss that video? How was it the same or different as the fronts?
Howdy Sarah, I do not have a specific video about the rear end. It is a narrowed Ford 9 inch with an old Currie disc brake kit on it. The rear is 5 lug instead of 6. I think the calipers are from a 93 Ford SHO Taurus. I run a 3.0 gear ratio for highway cruising. Good luck with your Luv! 👍
Hey Tim, thanks for the update. Hope you had a great summer. We had an interesting one. Had a Tornado go thru in mid July. It flipped our camping trailer over ( total write-off ) we lost 40% of our shingles and had a 50 foot evergreen tree come down that just missed our house by about 2 feet. Everything has been replace and no one was hurt. It did lots of damage in our town. I'm guessing about 60 trees were uprooted. I see where DD speed shop has moved to Alberta and got themselves a real nice home and a much nicer and bigger workshop. I've also been watching Brett at Halfass Kustoms do his magic. His new shop is every mans dream ! Stay well my friend.
Wow Brian, It looks like you had a crazy summer. I didn't know they had tornados in Canada. I'm glad you are ok! I expect that the new DD Speed shop location will start looking like the old shops in no time! lol I really enjoyed the Roadster pickup build on Halfass Kustoms channel too. Take care, good old winter is right around the corner.
My old LUV was the same color blue
I love the LUV truck I used to have one wish I had it back
They are getting harder to find but just go for it!
@@LuvTruckGarage I know a man here in Tennessee just about 20 miles from me he has 10 or 11 of them he has my old LUV

Nice! Enjoyed the update. I like the shirt too 😆
Thank you! I have a buddy with an awesome TH-cam channel and cool T shirts too!

Get better fast Brad! Amen
Lose the shell.
It took me 6 years to find the shell and I understand not everyone likes it. It was the bomb back in the 70's though! I do take it off in the winter so stay tuned!
Great video, Tim! Thanks for the update!
Thanks for the update, was just realizing a few days ago that you hadn't posted in a while, so it's nice to know how its going. The '72 really looks superb, congratulations. All those parts from Sean and all the nice touches like the design/etching on the cap windows, the wing, and wheels, really set it off. Will be interesting to see how that sander works on the "bob truck". Our leaves started changing colors a couple week ago, and will soon be off the trees too, getting down into the low 50's at night now here in southern MN.
Thanks for watching! Summer sort of got away from me with some house projects taking priority. I am very blessed to have my 72 and appreciate it very much, thank you for the kind words. The fall is leaf season around my house so it will be a chore from now until Thanksgiving at least!
Well that's great on the update for the three trucks. Thank you for the update. I've been wondering what had happened to the 4X 4. I'm glad you found a good home for it. Going to be fun to watch what you do with your Bob truck
Thanks for watching!
@@LuvTruckGarage I'm traveling. And I stopped in the store doesn't matter which one. There is a Little LUV truck 1978 sitting out front. I turned them on to your channel his name is Philip. Although I think you sold that four-wheel drive he was interested in that. He has some extra parts including the four headlights set up and all that. He prefers the two headlight setup. Hopefully contacts you.
@@CAROLDDISCOVER-2025 Cool, Thank you.👍

I loved this ! You have done so much to this frame.
Thanks Brian! I hope you are keeping up with Halfass Garage? He is in the homestretch with the roadster pickup! He is a Master!
@@LuvTruckGarage I must admit that I'm behind on watching his roadster pickup videos. I will watch them all over time. Also trying to keep up with LT's channel and Drakes Garage.
