3 REASONS WHY THE DYNA IS THE BEST FIRST MOTORCYCLE
มุมมอง 52K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The Dyna platform was one of the most versatile and beloved model families Harley has ever made. Even though H-D axed the Dyna in 2017, I think they're still the very best first motorcycle anyone could own. - Instagram: Two_Wheeled_Teacher Facebook: TheTwoWheeledTeacher

That's not clickbait, my friends. This 2006 CVO Fat Boy is one of the coolest and most comfortable bikes I've had the pleasure of reviewing thus far. From the fantastic attention to detail from the factory, to the chrome accents on the handlebars, grips, steel-braided clutch and brake lines, this bike is 100% quintessential Harley-Davidson experience. IS THE SOFTAIL HERITAGE REALLY A TOURING BIKE?
Iv'e gone long distances on a Softail Heritage. No problems, handles great.
What a question? Evolution ever
I got one. I ❤ it.
Most say they don't even feel or sound like a true Harley. More like a Honda. Harleys are more V twin!
Just bought my first motorcycle today. A 2009 HD Fat Bob
I have a 2000 wide glide i ride this all up and down the east coast. Highway pegs and a good seat you can go a long time. Just redo the cam chest and your golden. Put a external breather on it you won't be sorry.
Where would you need to get to faster????? The 107 has no problem breaking the speed limit.
This is one of (if not) the best looking Sportster ever; however, it is a paradox. With 31 degrees of lean angle (inadequate front fork and rear shock wheel travel) and mid mount foot pegs (not rear sets), the bike belies what its looks suggest it is (a canyon carving cafe racer). It should have come stock with those beautiful (but grossly expensive) Harley accessory rear set foot pegs and enough wheel travel for 40 degrees of lean angle. The XR1200 engine with a 6 speed tranny (overdrive) would have also been a huge plus.
Hell yeah brother!
The old look is classic, nothing to improve. The new look is too much of an outlaw, I do not want to be mistaken as a Hells Angel member
EVO Fat Boy or bust!
I got rid of my Harley and went to indian. Why? Because will be built in THAILAND. Yep another AMF. For years we have had to put up with HARLEYS bull crap. Fire your german screw machine CEO and upper management. suggestions buy Indian.
Old School would have been a 90’s EVO FATBOY not a Twin Cam. Twin Cams are definitely not Old School!!
I just picked up a 2000 Dyna Wide glide. Upgraded from my first bike, a Honda Shadow 600, and I LOVE my Wide Glide. Been ripping around all week and come the winter, I’m gonna start tweaking it and making it Mine. So excited!
Hell yeah, brother!!
Hey boss I have one two. Make sure you redo the cam chest to hydrologic tensioner and better cam plate to protect yourself
@@badkarma-f3l Thanks for the advice! I’ve been looking at an S&S kit with a 509 cam set.
New school all the way
"Less helmet buffetting" That's highly debatable depending on your height. I just bought one and im buffetting more than any other bike I've ever owned. I'm buying a Batwing fairing to hopefully reduce the turbulence.
You’re highly debatable.
@@TheTwoWheeledTeacher this could either be the best response I've ever received from a content creator, or the most aloof I've ever seen. If it was a joke, don't forget your Lol at the end of the comment there sport.

@@TheTwoWheeledTeacher well you seem to be pretty good at it. Too bad you quit. Lot of potential there, especially with that quick wit.
@mikesbikechannel4387 thanks, Mike. Wife says the same thing. After the lockdowns ended and I had to head back to work, I just didn’t have the time. Then we left Tallahassee and with it, my relationship with a dealer-owner willing to let me ride anything on the lot and in the showroom. It was a really fun and rewarding chapter and one I’ll enjoy sharing with my kids and as trivia for a long time
I’ll keep with my 1998.
Just subscribed hello from across the pond 🤘🏻🇬🇧🍻🇺🇲. Visited Florida many times.... own an 883 watched this video as I'm considering one of these as.next bike for touring. Dream is to do the ocean highway to key west on one.... ride safe brother 🤘🏻👍🏻 great video.... now a subscriber.
It's 2024 now and the heritage classic can indentify as whatever it wants to be
I’m more comfortable on my 2016 heritage softail than I am a road king. And I’m 6’3. The floorboards are lower and further forward on my heritage and I got more room. My knees felt all bent up on road king. So I have hard time understanding what’s so much better about a touring road king. I’ll take the heritage any day. BUT that’s the old heritage and not the new ones
After 96 883, 92 soft tail, 2007 Dyna-Glide and finally a 2013 FLHX... The 2013 FLHX is definitely my favorite!
How does the dyna compare to a sportster 1200 as in power? Is there a big difference? My brain tells me the 1200 would be faster because it’s lighter. I have a 04’ roadster 1200 stage 1, I wonder if the difference is worth going to dyna or sticking with the roadster
Blue Bike = Sanju Baba's Harley ❤
I have a 2007. Wish I could afford new 114 but would want dual front discs like roadking.
The "Oxford" looks better. But the M8 engine is a step above the twin cam.
A staged 107 doesn’t create as much heat as 114? The 107 is a good reliable motor? I have a 93 with the EVO, stage 4. Plenty of power. Runs about 150 degrees. Added a small extra oil cooler. Just asking. Now Harley will be made in China. Taiwan. Part of China. NOT USA New bikes are soooo expensive. Friend just got a 24 Road Glide $49,000 Ouch And now upgrades $$$$$$$ Looks like I must go used.
1340 Evo FTW
I got a softail cuz i didn’t want touring bike
Ive watchdd hundreds of SS Videos and youre the 1st to get a motel during the run
I like my sleep
@@TheTwoWheeledTeacher Gotcha
2018: RIP fat boy. 😢 the new one looks ridiculous
What's your preference model HD for every days ? Only one please ?
Ole school had 98 now have a 09 . No school like old school. Always loved the old 60's and 70s look of the FLH swing arm and head light bucket.
the new front forks/headlight facia are really mean. If I could attach that to a '99 evo I'd be happy.
I wanted to write a comment, but there another video that i was going to watch first, Ill be back.
Will be listing my low mileage (6,323) 2013 CVO Breakout in the same color (Black Diamond Molten Silver with Crushed Slate Graphics) for sale shortly. Bike is showroom quality. Absolutely love the bike but I don't ride much and therefore decided to sale it. Bike is a head turner for sure.
I hear ya about your riding gear problems and I went through similar stuff until I found used Aerostich gear. It’s not very bikery looking, but it sure is protective, comfy and waterproof.
It made my day when I bought my 2011 wide glide orange with black flames. I'm still rolling on it until I can buy a new road glide
I love that orange color Harley-Davidson uses. It's bad ass, and with black flames, I'll bet it looks really sharp. I painted an old kawasaki 650 I had with that orange and it totally changed the whole vibe of the bike. Your lucky, my wide glide is silver and black.
Not only for dyna wide glade is the best but dyna super glade too......
My first ever Harley-Davidson is a new to me '94 Dyna Wide Glide with the Evo 80, only bigger Harley engine besides the Sportster 1200 I will ever consider owning. I like simple and carbureted. It's my first V-Twin had a new knockoff CV carb installed on it that was missing some inlets and ran like garbage with a nasty lean spit. In the process of rebuilding the original so it's running correctly, I may jet it a bit higher if necessary. I found another V-Twin shortly afterwards that I'd always wanted which is a rare 2 year run 1986 Honda Shadow VT1100C which runs like a top but I need to do some work to the cooling system, it has a leaking upper radiator hose which is unobtanium. I will do a full on cooling system redo probably with customer made hoses and maybe just buy a new fuel pump and water pump as spares for now. It has new tires as compared to the 6 year old tires on the Dyna which I will change myself and balance myself. These aren't my first cruiser bikes, I've had an '82 Yamaha XJ1100J MAXIM for decades and I just landed another one that's extremely clean. Got a down payment on it to hold it and will make the nearly 400 mile round trip to go pick it up by the week's end. I haven't ridden much for years and I have the bike bug again hard and plan to tour all over with any and all of these bikes.
The '18 doesn't have V&H Short Shots on it, they're just V&H slip-ons on the stock headers. As to which looks better, the answer is neither. The original Evo Fat Boy is the winer.
the constant looking up and down ruins the video
Sorry brother! Keep that hog cranked!
O5 wideglide my favorite color chrome it's like my chopper.love it.
1) not a good first bike 2) great 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, final bike next
False, great first bike. I said what I said.
I just got a 2023 heritage. I traded it from a Roadking. I'm am so glad.
How do you set the clock?
Hold the menu button and it’ll blink hours or minutes or AM/PM and you adjust with the dial
I still have a 2015 Dyna Wide Glide. Will never sell it. You can´t replace it unless you spend a lot of money. It´s a powerful little bike and quicker than you think. If you take care of it , it´ll last 20 years. Much better than any Sportster.
I just bought a 2013 Fat Boy. I prefer the classic one.
Harleys aren't designed for taller riders!!
I rode the 107 Street Glide and the 114 Street Glide. I noticed the 114 had a little more pickup and speed, but not enough to get me to buy it. So' i bought the 107 Standard Street Glide now if i want more power i can put whatever i want in it when their warranty is over. However' if you're going to be hauling fat girls around, then go for the most power you can afford. The fatter the girl, the bigger the motor. So if your riding around tight lil spinners, 107s are fine. But you like them corn fed, beefy with jelly rolls, then you may want to avoid the 107s 114s 117s and just op for the 121, 131 and 135 motors. Not only will you thank yourself later, your poor bike will thank you too.
That exhaust is 100% stock.
After riding almost every kind of motorcycle made since I was 11 years old (I'm 70 now and have owned 5 different Harleys and about 40 other bikes) and even professionally racing some I can tell you for certain that a half hour ride tells you nothing about any motorcycle. Vibration of the motorcycle at idle means nothing!!! I prefer riding the older Harleys before they put balancers in the motors to smooth them out. They have a distinct soul...the newer Harleys have much much less because they run so smoothly. They don't really even sound like a real Harley anymore....Not a bad video, but no real substance here.
That’s the TH-cam game my friend.
