A common problem with the AIWA EXOS 9 is defective batteries. The battery of a device I purchased exhibited strange behavior: The voltage at the contacts (several contacts are connected in parallel at the positive or negative pole, so that there are only 2 potentials in total) was initially about 5.4V. When connecting it to a power supply with current limitation, I slowly increased the voltage to just over 25.2V, which corresponds to the final charging voltage of the battery when fully charged, and observed the current consumption - it was almost 0mA. It was only when the voltage was subsequently reduced to below 15V that a low current consumption of 3-4mA was observed. After disconnecting the power supply, the battery voltage remained relatively constant at about 15V. When the power supply was reconnected and the supplied voltage was increased to about 17V, the voltage on the battery suddenly collapsed again to about 5.4V. My conclusion: It is not the battery cells that are primarily defective (but "only" deeply discharged), but the BMS (battery management system) that is probably built into the battery short-circuits individual cells when the total voltage exceeds 17V and is therefore defective and has very probably also damaged the cells through deep discharge.
