Another little explore on this great little French built bike.
Well done for making the video!
Question. Can you use any 20inch rim in front? Cause ours is broken i was wondering if I should buy the same wheel? Ty.
Hi! Where did you find the windshield on the mic? Thnx for answer 😊
@@cosmoschtroumpf it was a pack of them I got some time ago on amazon, I think there's 6 in a pack and little stickypads. I learned that the mic is on the front though so I had the wind diffuser in the wrong place!
Does anyone know the longevity of this bike? I'd be riding about 3000 miles a year, do you think I'd get three years out of it? Great review. Many thanks.
Good review, cheers.
That’s great news, thanks for the demo 👍
Probably a better idea to put the windshield on the microphone instead of the speaker though, the microphone is on the front
Thanks for the video. Are you still pleased with it?

great video, thank you
Great video - I am currently looking at both the Carrera and Raleigh - can they both be ridden with no battery assist at all? If so - how do they handle? Thanks
@davesemmens9496 hi, yes they both can easily, I think the Raleigh is slightly easier in that way in my opinion but there isn't much in it. Also the Raleigh has a better quality finish. Cheers
Thanks for the reply - will give the Raleigh a good looking over at my local Halfords.
Hey. Just a bit of advice . Just how easy is it to pedal with max assist . I have a disability so haven't been able to push a normal bike in years . I dont have a lot of leg strength But could do with a way of getting around. Ive a opportunity to get one of these used for a really good price. Only thing is i dont know how many times the battery has been cycled . Or for slightly more a new flido ebike which is tiny but has full throttle assist where id have the option to not pedal at all . Its only one gear though and tiny wheels so 8d prefer the carerra trying to determine if its something i could manage
In any of the pedal assist levels on this you can if you need to simply turn the pedals and not push at all. Obviously that will use more battery power though. The battery is a good Samsung one and mine works great, I think the key things are how many charge cycles it's had and that it's been kept in a warm (household temps) environment as the cold can destroy a lithium battery it seems. To replace the battery for an original new one is about £400 just to be aware!
is there no image stabilization?
There is, it's digital only.
What camera are you using?
Hi, can you explain how to put the micro SD card in?
Hi! I have this camera as well it is at the bottom of the camera. There is a lock on it because of it being waterproof. But once u open it, it is right on the inside next to the charging port and battery. Hope this helps!!
I have a very small place in France and always wanted to keep one of these down in the cellar so I could use it for pottering about when I'm there. I wasn't sure how safe it would be to keep in the cellar. I also wasn't quite so keen having to get number plates, helmet and insurance for a motorized bicycle. I assumed all you needed was a baguette and a bag of onions.
I've had two of them love them , first one got stolen bought a bikes4you fold up e bike and the frame snapped, bought another carrera crosscity and back to riding a robust fold up, and like the poster, I road a BMX in the 80s and the carrera crosscity feels like riding a robust sturdy BMX with a motor
Thanks for this. I take it there's no input jack for and external mic, then? :)
No sadly there isn't, I'd have liked that too
Ythanks for sharing , great review.
What is the app called? There are many apps named by pixpro
Pixpro remote viewer, it's an orange coloured one with a white camera in the middle
Be interested to know what range you manage to get out of the 248Wh battery on a full charge, I’ve not done the test yet.
I believe the USB port is purely for diagnostics and updates at a dealership.
There is no torque sensing on this bike. If you pedal you get a fixed level of assistance, be it 1,2,3, or 4. Doesn’t matter how hard you pedal, you just get whatever assistance you have set.
Good to know thanks 👍
Hi Mike is it easy to fold and did the storage bag at the bak come with it .I have seen the bike at 999 is that a good price
Hi, yes it's incredibly easy folded. It also has a magnet to keep it so to and has a neat stand to stop it resting on the front sprocket which is a nice touch as it stands on its on well. The one I rode was bought on ebay a year or so old in immaculate condition for £500, so worth looking perhaps 👍
Thank you for doing this and showing photo and video samples!
Handy having actual footage to compare. Shame that advances in phone tech have led to these sort of waterproof/tough compacts lagging behind and become comparatively more expensive.
I never turn my compost heap. I only have space for one bay and I don't find turning makes any difference. Once a year, I just scrape off the top uncomposted layers, dig out the good stuff, put the top layers back in the bay and start again. Simple - and it's great compost. I've been doing it this way for 40 years, as did my father and grandfather. More important is using a variety of materials and watering when it's dry. Leave the rest to Nature, she knows what she's doing!
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.
Thanks for making this. I was thinking of the MiRider, but you've given me something elso to think about. Would have liked to have seen a fold demonstration though. Would you get 2 in a mid size car boot / hatch without dropping the rear car seats?
Hi, I'm not sure about a hatchback but maybe something like a skoda octavia or honda crv type car you'd possibly get 2 in the boot. Have a look at my solar video on the channel as it shows it folded to go on the train and used a fair bit too. Might help you a bit to decide 👍
First thing id do is fit schwalbe marathon plus tires on it
i was just about to but the evo 2, mechanical, till i seen this video, ill just save a tad more and get the stow e way.
You put the mic muff on the speaker. The mic is located on the front, on the left side of the flash.
Good to know, thanks
Just wondering if it charges at night or a rainy day
Do you carry the panels?
Not on the bikes no as its too big but I do have a 120watt folding panel so in theory it could be done. We might try filming that as an experiment
ideally, one would take a foldup PV panel, cycle one day, charge the next, and so on.
I agree that would work I think. I do have a folding 120watt panel so might give it a go
brilliant fun, and a clever way to travel
Thank you for this I'm getting one now 😊
Thank you for showing ACTUAL video and picture from the camera. A ton of reviews on here SUCK.
Very interesting, thanks for this. Would you recommend?
This is the best design I've ever seen❤❤
Compost looks amazing. I love compost making, got 3 bays and 2 dalek. I also have several worm farms.👌👍🙏🪱💩💪
You've made some fine compost there. I make it in various ways, the best I've found is composting on a bed & turning regularly while covering with plastic. You're 3 year method is good if you have the space & materials which I also do as well as plastic bins. The open cast method though is by far faster & keeps the weeds down.
Really useful! Can you do a video covering what can and can’t go on please?
The results speak for themselves.
Nice big bays there. I have to make do with a couple of plastic dalek bins. My growing space is tiny though so I think they are sufficient. 3 years to break down is a long time. I thought it would be done in a year. It's my first year making compost for my newly acquired allotment plot that I got last year so just getting to grips with the process.
👍👍👍
and the other minor problem is the torque already mentioned
i have been a cyclist for over 30 years both leisure and competing in time trials (not anymore) i brought one of these as my car broke down and had to be scrapped. I have to commute to work by train and bike.. was sceptical the first time i turned the pedals and "flew" up the hill never looked back.. only downside the rear spokes keeps popping.
Thanks Mike I bought second hand too, can you please advise what bike frame bag you have from Amazon so I can get one as like you save bars is very wide?
Great to hear, I hope you love it. I have put a link for both bags in the video description for you. 😁👍
That's really quite helpful to see thank you. I wasn't sure if it wod be any good on steep hills but it seems it would be! Can you cover charging in some way? I look forward to seeing more 👍👍
Thanks, more to come on this great little bike👍
Thanks for sharing! Do you remember the brands for the bag/phone holder or what amazon store you got them from? I'm thinking of getting this bike soon
Let me check, I'll make some links 👍
Sorry for the delay, I now have links in the video description for both the bags. Cheers
