Riders of the lost path
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 16 ก.ค. 2011
Riding dirt bikes in the bush, flowing trails to hill climbs here in Perth, Western Australia.
Doing work to my bikes from suspension services to changing seals and trying to capture it along the way.

Give me flat track or down hills any day
I struggle at the best of times with going up snotty hills and the dry and slippery conditions make it even worse for me.
I just need more practice but I do like the twisty trails and the down hill sections.
Lots of wildlife out today with countless kangaroos, a single emu and a goanna hiding in the shadows which I hoped I missed.
The extra pressure in the rear tyre had me making a few changes to the shock before I found the setting. It wasn't until we were in the hills before I had it dialed in.

Eating dust and dodging trees
มุมมอง 232วันที่ผ่านมา
Finally got out for a skid and the conditions have gone very dry and dusty. The Shinko rear that was holding on is not doing so well in the marbles so will be getting changed out for the Bridgestone X31R for the next ride I think. And I'll go back to the 110/100 as the 120 is like a balloon on the rear, the back end on this ride was very loose in the tight and twisty trails.
Shock test until it wasn't
มุมมอง 32014 วันที่ผ่านมา
I've been tinkering in the shock to remove the bleed shim and this was going to be another test ride but the bike went pretty good, so I continued on for half the start of the valley and back. Also changed the forks up due to the change in shock had a drastic effect on the front end as well. Really happy with how the bike went and now it's time to get out and rip it.

Out for a ride after a night entertaining friends. I wasn't feeling it to start off with and so wanted to leave the ride like Josh but stuck through and ended up being a good ride. I wasn't hitting any logs as it was still too much effort from last night.
flowy singles to run in the new top end
มุมมอง 291หลายเดือนก่อน
Decided to do the top end on my bike and it feels good. Piston and cylinder were well within specs and going off that, I could have left it for anther 10 to 15 hours but there is a noticeable improvement to the engine performance, so glad I did the job. I'm still coming to terms with the larger rear tyre and I don't think that I will be running another 120/100 once this tyre is done. I'm also f...

Out for an explore to somewhere new. I have bought a new top end kit to replace my 90 odd hour top end but with the rain, the new top end can wait. New tyres fitted and took a little to get the feeling for them as they weren't the same as on the bike. The rear is a 120/100 instead of the 110/100 and it felt different. Feeling very unfit and my legs are unusually fatigued, even a few days after ...
Slippery when dry
มุมมอง 167หลายเดือนก่อน
Out for a quick blast to test out the shock after another change and to see if my strip down of the clake clutch was a success after it started leaking due to a fluid change and some smutz must have made it into the piston. Very dry after the week of sunshine. Definitely time for new tyres now as I have been procrastinating.
Dust is back, may as well be summer
มุมมอง 360หลายเดือนก่อน
It's been about 4 days of sun here in Perth and the tracks have just about returned to summer mode. The dust is back and the pea gravel is loose. My tires are definitely on their last legs with the side knobs on the front slowly disappearing.
Whoops for miles.
มุมมอง 4272 หลายเดือนก่อน
Whoops for kilometers, and if it wasn't whoops, it was water. And if it wasn't water, it was whoops full of water. I was very cautious on the wet clay, but it seemed to have better traction than around Dwelly. Without knowing it, I lost the bottom strap on my boots and took a bit to work out why my left boot was filling full of water so quick. The Tech 7's are not even water resistant but after...
Playing in the puddles
มุมมอง 4972 หลายเดือนก่อน
Just out for a very quick ride between showers. Very wet out there now and my boots were full of water after the first puddle so didn't see the point in missing the puddles thereafter. Tweaked the shock valving and wanted to see how it would handle.
slipping and sliding
มุมมอง 6402 หลายเดือนก่อน
Trying to avoid the flatter ground holding all the water and hit the valley for this ride. It is so rough with all the dirt washed away leaving all the rocks exposed more. I was a little out of sync with the bike today with the technical riding, I just can't commit throttle when I should. Where I slid down the rock, there is a pool that looks shallow, but it is not. I found that out last winter...

A ride down south with a couple of mates. The mosquitos were thick down here in the bush and I think I breathed in about 4 while riding. Every time you stopped, you would have a plague come out of the bush to attack. I had mud early on in the ride on my seat which was like blutack on the seat. Every time I sat down and went to stand up, I would be stuck to the seat. I was starting to get comfor...
Riding thrashed tracks.

Having been out of action, it's been a while since doing this loop and it is thrashed. There must've been a big group through or something but now the ruts are so deep on some of the hills. The gum tree tight section at the end, Ian was behind me and then he wasn't. When he emerged from the trees, it was apparent that he had found one of the deep holes full of water. First ride back in a while. Got some knee braces now and hopefully won't take long to get used to the contact points on my knees. Just a bit sore from squeezing the bike with my knees from the braces. I baulked at just about every log and in the valley, all I was thinking about was my foot catching a rut, root or stick. The lads had a few cracks at the green hill in the valley with Brent tippin...
50 shades of pain, might be time for knee braces.

This will be the last ride for a while. Whilst attempting (poorly) to go over a log, my foot slipped between the trunk and the branch, and with the forward momentum, I just about snapped my knee as my leg was stuck and the fulcrum point being my knee on the trunk. I am not sure how past straight it went but I thought that I had blown my knee and I was very worried that once I had fallen back be...

The first 3 minutes was beautiful. That single track is delightful to watch. Looks perfect for my onewheels. You keen for a float one that single track? I know I am
Your onewheel isn’t gunna do these tracks
@ the single track in the first 3 minutes with the reddish dirt with trees both sides of it looked perfect but every track after that was a little rough. There are some nice trails in John Forrest
I had to google what a onewheeler was, hahahahha. I thought it was a brand of dirt bike. There are a tonne of fist sized rocks all through these tracks. As it gets drier, there seems to be more rocks as they spit out. Most of these tracks would be hard work on a mountain bike with how soft and boggy it gets @TheDirtcycle.
@@Ridersofthelostpath hmm fist sized rocks sounds like a lot of dodging will be involved lol. The munda biddi trail in John Forrest was absolutely amazing to ride like a week after it opened and 3 months later there were dirty big rocks everywhere. After googling what it was you can’t possibly tell me you don’t want a go lol
@ hahahahah, i stack it good enough with two wheels and good suspension. Onewheel would be disastrous.
Nice one mate, I’m hanging to get back on the bike killing me been at home not been able to ride it 😂
It’s so slippery out there. How long are you out for Luke?
@ been 2 weeks since I broke my shoulder so at least another 2-3 weeks I reckon
Looks real stable now Kenny
Certainly sounds healthy and crisp 👍
Where are you riding?
Dwellingup area Michael.
You’re out of control with your shock adjustments 😂
I get bored and some may say i have ADD, hahahaha. I also changed the DCC valving back to stock when i removed the bladder and just trying to fine tune it now. I think it’s close enough now.
@@Ridersofthelostpath you’ll be happy for 1 more ride with it 😂 I think I’ve touched my clickers once or twice hahaha
HahhahahahH, you’re probably right.
Is this not hurting the bike a bit hahahah?
That’s what bikes are made for lol
All my major i juries have been as a result of breaking my bike’s fall. Not this time, i was prepared to ghosty.
Nice mate, where was this? I had a good ride out Flynn rd, but there was some deep water in sections.
This was Metro road. I have been out there maybe once before. Just glad my suspension was able to handle the whoops.
Trails look amazing Thanks for sharing.
Trail looks mint 👌
Nice trail mate. Any trail spot if coming from Rockingham? Bike is unlicense and me. 😅😂
Is this Western Australia?
Yes, in the Dwellingup area without getting too specific. There seems to be a lot more traffic on the tracks now so i try not let the specific spot out of the bag if you know what i mean.
Hi mate im a big fan of your channel i regularly ride in jarrahdale raced motocross as a juinior im 33 i have no one to ride with can you help me link up with some people to ride with or even tag along with you guys i ride a wr250f im literally going to sit at jarrahdale and follow somone and ask to tag along or hopefully find somone out there and ask to ride with them i dont like riding on my own as it limits what i can do im keen to ride most weekemnds or during the week let me know if you can help cheers
what an epic trail, good riding!
7:06 were those words?? 😆
This place looks like heaven compared to blue rock jarrahdale at the moment i got a wet plug but she dried in a couple minutes😂
I kid you not I was hitting some of these tracks yesterday 😂, small world
There’s been some people through. The ruts on the hills are getting ridiculous.
Good to see the creeks flowing nicely
Some were a bit deeper than i wanted. Nothing like a boot full of water for the rest of the ride. Hahahaha
WA has some really cool terrain, you were cutting through the trees pretty quick !!! Well done 👍
Nannup looks like an epic place to ride. Love it!
Damn dude I squeezed my phone when you screamed, hope you recover quickly. For what's its worth start taking collogen powder, helps drastically for cartilage and tendon strength and repair
I’ll have a look for it. Something from Woolworths or something?
Not sure if you can get it from supermarkets, I'm from Australia and get it from a company called bulk nutrients Australia, it's called HCP
@@jarrod1687 sweet. I’m in perth, WA.
That scream, ouch. Rest up bud. This makes me consider knee braces even more now.
I am normally conscious of where I put my put to make sure this doesn't happen but this ride, I wasn't paying attention enough. I tried a mate's pair of braces on yesterday just to see what kind of added protection they provide. I don't know if he's set added anymore protection and I am not too sure, but maybe a different brand would be better. I don't know if the brace would've stopped the injury at high speed but may have helped with this low speed event. It's a week since doing this and at least I can walk, but it aches like anything still and I dare not do too much on it at the moment. I am still in two minds as to whether to make the purchase or not. I'll see how the knee goes, hahahah.
I went to AMX and bought a set of braces for when i can start riding again.
I'm glad you didn't end up with an emu knee!
The scream gets me everytime 🤣
I can’t watch the last bit anymore. I will go look for some knee braces i think. I’ve never had an accident like this before but i don’t want it again.
nice to see some more Perth content, such a great time of year to ride 👌
Nice rip! Thanks for sharing. That waterfall looked pretty cool.
It’s been a while since i’ve seen it flow. So much water around too.
Love it mate. Heading there myself in mid aug. did you end up changing tyres?
Running the bridgestones x31 front and rear. I’m loving the tubliss and with the lower pressures, it’s lasting longer.
Is that whit a riding group?
Not an organised group. I had a mate riding with this ride and managed to tag along.
Great vid mate. Rekluse clutches are bloody expensive, but completely worth it.
Looks sick down there
Hey mate, where's this?
Dwellingup, Western Australia.
Nice
Looks mega
It was awesome. Would like to ride down there more often but without rain and hail.
@@Ridersofthelostpath im going to head down in a few weeks i recon. Usually ride MTB down there such an awesome place
@@Ridersofthelostpath Thats my kind of riding. Looks great.
Great trails, this is exactly my type of riding. I live down Yallingup, is it possible to join a ride like this?
@@delrcr05 this was my first time down there but i’d like to go more often. I can let you know the next time i go but may be a month yet due to work roster.
These are the tracks I ride i recognise some of the logs
What model is your bike?
‘21 husqvarna TE250i. But i’ve had the ecu reglashed by two stroke performance and installed his low comp head.
would be so cool if you get get mic'd up audio while you're riding
Hahahahaha, then i’d have to beep out all my swearing. I’m not sure i can wireless a mic to my dji action camera or not.
I tried so hard to recover the shadows but they’re too far gone. I was devastated when i saw the footage.
Yeah nothing worse then losing a full rides worth of video 😂
How good is the dirt at the moment! Don’t use that camera setting again makes it really hard to see as soon as your out of the sunlight haha
What your thoughts on the Dal soggier set up
They weren’t my forks but when i rode them while trying to valve them, they went fine. I was almost going to buy the cartridges for my husky but i have my open chambers running sweet.
These betas eat shaft seals for lunch every ride. wtf.
Looks like an awesome loop. Does this run into the flynn road stuff?
I think it may somewhere. I’m not that familiar with this area as it’s a bit of a trek for me.
Looks great fun Kenny.
Hey Kenny Looked like perfect conditions, what psi are you running on your rear tubliss. Hope all is well with your little one. Borry
Hi Borry. I think it was around the 4 or 5 psi. I over-pressured my low pressure tyre gauge that morning with my mind on other things rendering it useless. The young fella is finally coming good but has been a bit stressful. Hope all is well with you bud.
@@Ridersofthelostpath 👍
Hey Mate, I wont ask exactly where there tracks are but can you give me a rough area? I have been riding the "Jarrahdale" are for a few years but am keen to explore somewhere else... cheers
Hi Ben, If you don't mind the hills and a few scratches on your bike, I'll get you out for a ride. I have seen a few of your vids now too. I could tell you where I ride but it would take a bit to find the tracks to all link up for a ride. But I ride Dwellingup area and we meet up at Del Park Rd servo on the corner of Sth West Hwy to give a hint.
@@RidersofthelostpathI rode south of conjurunup dam the other day and they gotta be the best tracks in Perth I’ve ridden so far
@@Lukeauss do you ride there often Luke?
@@Ridersofthelostpathnah first time riding that south of dandalup, usually ride abit closer to north dandalup dam but will definitely be back
@@RidersofthelostpathI watched some of your other vids in the valley that’s the place I was riding at couple days ago, killer spot

Glad your feeling better. Its a great feeling when you put all that $ and effort in the suspension and it finally starts to get dialed in. Happy healing.
I’ just stoked i can do my own tuning. I was about to type that it only costs me time but then i think about all those shims i’ve had to buy, hahahahah. Expensive when you have to buy 10 as a minimum order just to use 1 but i’ve got them all there for future use. If my wife only knew what all those buckets shims are worth😅
Hey mate. Awesome little single trail. What area where you riding in? Understand if you don’t want to share online
Dwellingup bud.
Cheers mate
I know how you feel I was out riding yesterday too and had my right foot caught between a tree and my bike twisting it backwards I think I stretched the tendons in the knee I can walk but wow it hurts lmao then about a km away from that wipeout a thick branch smashed my other knee cap hard . I do believe I will be getting my self some knee braces for riding hard induro .
I’m always worried about knees. I don’t run knee braces as i get bruises and discomfort from the hard style knee guards i’ve used in the past. I am running with the Travis Pastrana 199 soft knee guards and they’ve been good so far but anytime that I see a potential foot hang up, i take that foot off the peg. I ride standing all the time though and that makes it easier to lift feet when i need to. Hope it’s nothing too serious for you with your knees.
Man those are fantastic trails your riding on. I loved your ‘nature causing your crashes’ comment. I have tossed a few rocks and tree limbs myself in frustration. LOL. Sorry to hear you bruised some ribs. Thats never fun when your riding. Especially if you pop one. Thanks for sharing!
