มุมมอง 746 หลายเดือนก่อน
Telisi Rama Chintana Tho is the sixth kriti in a series by Tyagaraja, composed in the ragam Purnachandrika. In the kriti, Tyagaraja uses the rama mantra to help his distracted mind calm down, similar to how an elephant handler might give their elephant a stick to hold onto when it's distracted. Tyagaraja encourages his mind to restrict its thoughts, meditate on the lord, and understand the true...

Thanks for dancing this alarippu😁
Next year is my arangetram
This is my arangetram song
Hi akka
Very nice 👌
Very beautiful. 🤩 i am also learning bharatanatyam feel so proud 😊
Thinking of this still gives me nightmares. I studied bharatanatyam in school and i had zero talent in it. Every dance class was something I wanted to run away from. Alarippu was the toughest dance, i have never understood the beauty or could never remember anything about it except this eye movement and hand jerk, that too i often mixed up and i was the teacher's least favourite student.
Went through the exact same thing, I also couldn't dance properly and sir ignored me most of the time and scolded me for literally no reason. This is the reason i quit dancing after learning it for 5 years
Was it mandatory to learn Bharatanatyam? Couldn't you drop the class since you disliked it so much?
Parents force their kids to learn it. @@jamesaron1967
As a person who has been dancing bharatanatyam it was hard for the first one yr but then it gets easier and it's not compulsory to dance this
Must have been tough for you... Many people think that it will be well and good if you just concentrated but as a student myself I do get the struggle you must have faced. Dance has always been a big part of my life but I never had the talent for it.. but t=just the fact that I love it gives me the drive to continue and improve..
basically i'm also a bharathnatyam dancer i was long for a beautiful alaripu trishra video so because of this video i was successful with my alaripu practice, so i thank this youtube chanell for giving me the best vedio ☺
This dance is so beautiful it's putting me in trance.
That sitting part and the jumps hurt the most whenever I practiced this dance and damn, the hand pain I used to get🥲 Also very beautiful performance❤

Hello there..... I'm a history student.....and just recently I came across art and culture of India. Can you please help me with the meaning of alarippu, jatiswarnam, shabadam, varnam, padam, jawali, thillana and mangalam 🙏🙏🙏
The Alarippu (meaning flowering bud) is traditionally the first dance piece that Bharatanatyam dancers learn and perform in this type of classical dance recital.Jatiswaram is a dance item that helps in developing rhythmic stability. Highly enlightening and entertaining, Jathiswaram can also serve as a perfect choreographic tool. Message of Jathiswaram is beauty.Shabdam is the dance item in the Bharatanatyam repertoire where expressions are introduced. It is usually in praise of a God, like Krishna, Rama, Shiva, or about a King.Varṇam is a type of composition in the Carnatic music system that encapsulates the key features of a raga, and considered as a foundational element in the learning path. Varnams capture the essence of the ragam in terms of typical swara patterns used, vishesha prayogas, highlighting the main notes (jeeva swaras), etc.The Padam is an essential part of Bharatanatyam repertoire. It fulfils the scope of dance to evoke rasa, in a suitable and subtle manner. The music and poetry, which combine to make the Padam appropriate for Abhinaya (expressional dance), was understood by padam composers.Javali is a light classical love song which is presented in music and dance concerts. They are simple love songs depicting love of laymen. The term Javali is derived from the Kannada term “Jhavali” meaning a song or poetry. The name Thillana is derived from a form of music, which is one of the primary reasons why the dance form has been named. Thillana music is a concise piece of rhythmic music, and this is usually performed at the end of a dance recital.Mangalam' in Sanskrit means auspicious, welfare, good fortune. It is common practice in the Bharatiya tradition to wish others with “Mangalaanee bhavantu” in Sanskrit, “Mangalam undaagattum in Tamizh or “Mangalmay ho” in Hindi.
