Film Flamers is one of two podcasts that I actually listen to and the only one that film reviews. Being the only Horror lover in my family I really appreciate Robert and Chris's hilarious takes on every film they watch! Not only are your reviews spot on, but your "quotes" on "quotes" is pee-my-pants fuuuunnnnnyyyyy!!! I will forever hear "They're all going to laugh at you," "fuck ne gently with a chainsaw," and my favorite from "The Exorcist II" " YA,YA,YA..." Don't ever become too famous that you end this podcast and by proxy, the best thing on the internet! Not true that Dan doesn’t get punished. He does . He loses his family at some point but he gets forgiven by his wife the woman he loves after she almost died. How much more does he need to pay? I like how the whole movie feels like a fever dream

That shaving scene was one of the most memorable body horror scenes I've seen in a while

The most fascinating part about this movie is that if this would have been made today shot by shot, I believe it would get raving reviews similar to some of the Blumhouse productions that share an unintentional-seeming comedic element. It would be talked about as some kind of genius subversive commentary even if made by a straight director (Ari Aster?). I’m no way saying that that is really what Friedkin was trying to do, but if made today with a modern view on homosexuality by the GP, the straight male lead would probably be featured in OUT Magazine for taking on something this ambiguous.
