Hi Curl Friends, who doesn't love a box-braids buss-down that is itch-free, healthy, and safe on the environment? I am on a journey to love my 4c Hair, and explore healthier braiding practices and braiding hair options. Supposedly😉, our braids do NOT have to itch, burn, or cause our hair/edges to fall off - that is an allergic reaction. Our braids are supposed to be protective, not a way to hid...

    Well because I africa where this is from mainly (yes it's in usa/Canada native Americans/scentral/south america too like Brazil) is HORSE HAIR CUT FROM THEIR OWN HORSE and braided into their real hair w/o any chems or treatments! Didn't do much digging, did you....????? And all indigenous ppl used all Naruto products like real wild bee's wax, honey, mud, clay, real aloe leaves, rose petals soaked in goat milk as the products put in the real hair before/as it's braided... It's literally in my 8th grade history books 30yrs ago and currently in my cosmetologist book from 2016...so this info isn't hidden or anything.... I myself am 90% Cherokee indian and 10% Brazilian. I had ringlet curls at 3 and then friz by 5 on. All along my neck line up to the back of my top of my ears is all solid frizz so tight that I have to brush it in the shower with 3 coats of conditioner to get a comb in it. But look how long my hair is today...3yrs and almost down to my waistline! Straightening frizzy hair every weem/month helps the broken spaces where the frizz/curl bends and is no longer weak & breaks off during normal movements. It also helps cell turn over & more new baby hairs to grow faster the more you brush and touch your scrap during normal care everyday! You are what makes your hair grow. You are what keeps your hair from breaking off....

      @@doll.ov.poetrii4682 she’s talking about hair and hair products. BFFR, my opinion will change if there are specific incidents she can cite but from the video it’s implying trauma comes from having to use certain hair products 🤦‍♀️. How does that relate to a medical diagnosis that one has been traumatized?

    • @Nadia_Cherie
      @Nadia_Cherie 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      “Trauma” was referring to my doing my hair by myself, being hyper-independent.. it’s a form of self-care but also a form of trauma (or better yet, caused by experiencing trauma). But essentially, you can’t define someone else’s trauma, as it’s based on their lived experiences. What you can handle, someone else may not be able to and vice versa. Everyone’s threshold is different. Even if my trauma came from using hair products (that are potentially carcinogenic btw), I don’t recommend discounting that either. Thanks for sharing!

      @@Nadia_Cherie The way you made it seem it the video was in a joking unserious tone. You placed the word surrounded by videos of you walking around and just selfies in a mirror. I hope you also understand where IM coming from. Not saying you are but it’s extremely hurtful to see the word used in a joking sense when I was traumatized consistently throughout my childhood from watching my father die at 11 to my mother mentally abusing me for years on end. All this has had lasting effects on my everyday mental health and functioning and i’m infuriated when people joke or use the word unseriously. You’re right. I don’t know what you’ve been through and i shouldn’t be too quick to judge, but it’s kinda like comparing falling off your bike to a car accident. Like yes i’m sorry you’ve gone through the pain you did, but did this trauma cause you to attempt suicide, attend years of depression, and therapy? Did it keep you up at night and crawl under your skin? Understand the struggle people who have been seen by a professional and got a prognosis that they experienced trauma.

    I don't know if you about this, you can wash your synthetic hair with a little apple cider vinegar submerged in a big bowl of water. Make sure you air dry it for a day.
