This past year was the 10th year in a row we've camped on some stretch of the Elk River. ERCR is top notch! Love those people.

LoL.... As AC/DC once said, "Rock n Roll ain't noise pollution" There's plenty of woods and wilderness for us all. If I like to enjoy outdoors with the sound of a guitar in the background, so be it. And while im out there, I'm always doing my best to help with real pollution and will pickup whatever trash I can fit onto my kayak. But let me guess.... you'd rather me not be out there doing that if I've got music in the background.

Hi! This resort is one of the smaller ones that Sandals has to offer. The resort also old but recently remodeled in a lot of places, so I'd say it is updated. The night life is rather limited compared to other Sandals resorts we've been to (Sandals Ochi in Jamaica or Sandals Antigua). I've heard the St. Lucian Grande has a good night life as well. The restrictions are pretty fair in St. Lucia right now...and they were backing off on some their rules in just the week we were there. Other countries, like Barbados, are very strict. Of course the same travel protocols (negative COVID test and all that stuff) is still in effect. As far as the water, there wasn't a lot of seaweed but the water clarity changed pending on the day and the weather. Jamaica Ochi probably had the clearest water of any resort I've been to and there's a small reef with lots of small fish right along the main beach. @@colebarron1786 OMG! Thank you for the quick response. The Sandals travel lady at the resort booked us all for Barbados next year. She sold us all a dream that it would be a great idea and then when we got home we realized that they had a ton of restrictions. So now we are looking for a new place to go since we put down a non-refundable deposit. (Insert mad as hell face!!!)

@@dawnblalock3784 hope y'all get rebooked! Or you could wait to see what the Barbados restrictions look like closer to time. We really wanted to go there and were pretty disappointed when we had to change our plans 2 weeks before our trip due to their excessive restrictions. Pretty bummed! But we still enjoyed St. Lucia (for the second time haha). We may save Barbados for our ten year anniversary or something like that! Right now we are rebooked for Jamaica South Coast for Oct 2022 😁

I believe the instructions were adequate. But the pieces were much smaller than standard size legos. It was very tedious work to say the least.

Definitely! The airport shuttle takes you directly to and from the resort. No issues! Not on this trip but on our trip to Sandals South Coast Jamaica, the driver stopped at a local jerk pork joint and we all bought some food. That was really cool! But still felt safe the whole time. Most of the crime in the country is gang on gang. Tourism is such a protected industry there since it makes up much of the country's economy that few of the gang criminals will dare mess with the tourists. Had to take a brief on the country for work before we traveled there and the risk was low to tourists. You'll spend most of your time on resort anyways! 🙂

Thanks! We really enjoyed it! We actually took the bus and visited the Grande and the Halceon in the same day in addition to our stay at Regency La Toc. The Grande was definitely more lively with all the jet ski rentals and exciting things like that. So maybe it was a little more tourist-y too? The Halceon is very small and quiet...kinda like the "retirement home" of the three resorts. But that's where Kelley's Dockside restaurant was so we had to go there and eat for sure! The Regency La Toc was a little more secluded than the Grande, and we liked that a lot. Different strokes for different folks though! Being able to walk out of the Grande and go hike to Signals Peak was pretty awesome! Really liked that! Since we only spent like half a day at the Grande, I can't say for certain that I like it or Regency La Toc better.

Cole Barron thank you so much for getting back to me and giving me your opinions on the resorts. I guess when we are down there again we should spend a day over at La Toc. Gordon’s Restaurant out on the pier at the Grande was fantastic. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. However you had to be in a Butler class room to eat at Gordon’s for free from what I understand. We went there three times it was that good. The only problem with La Toc for some people would be the hills where as with the Grande it’s totally flat. Thanks again Ed

@@wa1juun1ed yes! It was quite hilly for sure. Definitely something to consider! Sandals Ochi in Jamaica is even more hilly and the resort is split in two by a major road and you can't cross it on foot. You have to take the shuttle bus that goes from one side to the other. We went there on our honeymoon and didn't realize it was that way until we got there. The resort map doesn't depict that very well. We're going to Sandals in Barbados next June for our 5 year anniversary. Looking forward to it!

Cole Barron we are going to Sandals in Barbados this November 13th to the 23rd. It will be the first time at that resort. We have a trip planned for June 4th to Sandals in Exuma, Bahamas but I’m not sure if that’s going to happen with the virus happening.

@@wa1juun1ed which Barbados are y'all staying at? My understanding is they're literally right next to each other and you can walk between the two no problem so it's basically just one mega Resort. Our room is technically at the Royal Barbados though. You'll have to comment back here after your trip later this year and tell me what ya think of it!

About 14 hours total...I think that's about how much camera footage I had once it was all said and done

Recommend having a pair of tweezers handy and also something to sort the pieces in prior to starting. A plastic fishing lure tackle box worked well for me.

Lily G Club MoBay upon arrival is always a must for us! Departure not so much but definitely on arrival!

The trip in this video was from July last year and I'd say it was great! Of course nice and hot but there's no shortage of water to cool off in and beverages of all kinds. It rained a couple times, but that is to be expected. For this trip we got a club level room, which gives you all the same in-room amenities that the butler suites have (stocked bar, room service, etc.). We had a butler suite for our first two Sandals trips (Jamaica and St. Lucia) and really enjoyed that, too! Just chose to save some money and go with club level for the Antigua trip. Cant go wrong either way! Their butlers are awesome!

Definitely Kelly's Dockside for dinner! It was the best meal we had the entire week. But all the restaurants are good. Some of them are only open for dinner, though. And some require a specific dress code. I The main house had a really good breakfast buffet. The resort is divided by a main road and split it into a hillside and an Oceanside. If you have a Butler, you'll be on the hillside, and the butler will take you all over the resort, or you can use the shuttle bus which goes pretty much nonstop all day. But if you don't, you'll more than likely be on the Oceanside and just use the shuttle to get to all the places on the hillside. I just wanted to point that out because it's not obvious when you look at a map of the resort.

Maybe an hour to and hour and half to the top. Not too bad of a hike!

Emily Ruffing, Ochi is awesome!! We did do the butler service. Have to admit it was hard to get used to at first haha having someone insist that they do everything for you was not normal by any means for us! But it was nice to have because they will make all your dinner reservations for you and take care of booking any excursions off the resort for you as well. They give you an old Nokia cell phone that has your butler(s) number programmed in it. Ochi is rather big and the butler suites are up on a hill so anytime you leave the room, they insist you call them so they can pick you up in their golf cart and take you wherever you're going and get you settled down. When we went to St. Lucia last year we did the butler service again as well. Going to Antigua this July and opted to go without this time just because we feel like we kinda got the hang of how it all works with booking things and making dinner plans. We got a spa credit with our deal so that's the only extra honeymoon related thing we ended up doing. There's so much to do there already, we couldn't find time to fit anything else in! Sorry for the information overload haha but we really do love Sandals and it gets me excited about our next trip when I talk about the past ones! No doubt you will love it! And congrats on your engagement!

Thanks man!! GoPro Studio is pretty user friendly and even more importantly...it's FREE! It has pretty standard video editing features, nothing professional or anything, but it gets the job done. Have fun at La Toc! It's awesome! Word of advice that they do not seem to advertise much...when you visit the other resorts (if you do, which I highly recommend at least going to the Grande), you can get a complimentary room for like 45min to an hour to shower off and get ready for dinner if you choose to eat at one of the other resorts. They will hold all your stuff at the front desk for you as well. Definitely look into doing that!
