Your English is very very easy to understand., Daniel. Wish other American people speak like you do.
he's on Spotify if you want his podcast
Probably more people would give interviews, but they don't want their image to be published. Some TH-camrs sometimes make fun of the people they interview or use their image in a shameful way. For example, they put someone's picture in the thumbnail and write "virgin?" on it. Recently, I also saw a trailer at the beginning of a video where the host asked a girl if she would sleep with a man for money and inserted her saying "yes" from a completely different question. Later, the full interview shows a different answer. It’s hard to trust someone if they can use your image in any way without respect.
Thank you for having me, Leo!! It was super fun! Let me know when you ever come to Osaka;)))
Wow 🤩 his Japanese sounds so authentic 🎉
Wow! It’s been a minute since I’ve seen him. Great to see him.
I didn't know who he was at first, because Japanese people only know Daniel-san, who speaks Yamagata dialect.😂
Is this guy who came to japan on a shipwreck in the 1600s??
Been enjoying yours vids man. Subscribed, and I've been dabbling with hiragana characters on Duo for past few months so I'll subscribe to Shuns too. Cheers man, and greetings from 🏴✌️
Oh, Daniel san!!! I firstly couldn’t recognise who you were but as soon as you mentioned about your Yamagata accent. I’m 54 YO now and I saw you a lot on TV when I was a teenager or my early 20s. It’s nice to see you doing very well ❤
This person has an unusually good command of the language...very rare...& I've lived in Japan from Hokkaido down to Okinawa....He might be what they call an "Idiot Savant". Excellent talent
Man.. I’ve always wanted to visit Japan 🇯🇵 and after seeing this video, now even more. Its people, their humbleness and respect, discipline, cleanliness and dedication to everything they do, whether it’s martial arts, the car industry, technology, amazing carpentry or just as he mentioned taking care of a simple garden, I really admire the intention and love in everything the Japanese do, truly model citizens for the rest of the world. 🌎 Thank you for this interview.
I like this fella...also, unrelated, I think he resembles Brian Cox.
A very interesting and cool guy.
Yes !! Japan is really depressive. It’s a pressurized society and not a lot of fun
Thanks for sharing, he clearly has a wealth of information about Japan and seems very approachable.
Thank you for this great interview !
Wow...daniel san speaking english😯 I didn't know he can speak english.
Absolutely riveting, I could hear EVERY ONE of his life experiences; his passion for life and cultures is irresistible. Thank you!
Yay for positivity and open interactions👏😁 This was such a down-to-earth vid talk. I really liked it. I think you're finding great people to interview. I went and subscribed to your channel Shun.
That makes me so happy to hear!
Hope to see you around, since 1977, in Okinawa....Haha, The Bubble , That was a Kick in the head
Great interview! Shun, I like your videos. They help me a lot with my Japanese studies. Keep up the good work!
Keep up the good work too!
Shun, you are amazing I love your positive outlook, freestyle, and free spirit😃
He’s amazing
What a nice surprise to find you here Daniel-san. I remember you when I came to Japan more than 30 years ago
Thank you for interviewing people who have lived in Japan for years, instead of interviewing people who have only been here for 1 year and are complaining, like every other youtube video.
100% more interested in people who've lived there for this long instead of the people that just stay for 1-5 years.
What do people expect her to sound like as a NZer? We don’t all sound the same, perhaps she’s just well educated 🤔. Well done to her for making a home in Japan.
Thank you for this interview ❤ love the stories ❤ brings back beautiful memories (Indonesian who has lived in Japan and now lives in Mumbai)
He is referring to the locus of control. Internal more western vs external much more prevalent in Japan
Daniel Kahl. What a nice American, the Yanks don't deserve you .but the Japanese do! Great to see a genuine contribution to Japan and not just someone there for personal entertainment. Good wishes to your family from down under. Best customer service in the World!
First and foremost, a man who lived the very life he had dreamt up for himself. Other than that, Daniel's love for the language and culture is infectuous, and I will keep coming back to this video plenty in my lifetime. Words can't express how much I appreciate him sharing those very first learning steps, immersing in the language when virtually no immersion tools were available.
Please interview him again some time!
i speak both eng and jpn but thats just by environment, and not by effort. I cant imagine going to somewhere where neither work at all and forge a life there. Truly amazing
I don’t know about this guy
I thoroughly enjoyed this interview!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I checked the filme “Fukushima 50”! It’s on Netflix but don’t have a English subtitle! This s..cks my Japanese is not good enough to understand
I believe what he says about Japanese people being Emotional..and good at hiding it..i was a Room Attendant for many years in the Tropics, i found they really appreciated little notes with smiley faces😊
What an interesting Gentleman😃👋🇦🇺
Wow, what a POS the dad is for not, at the bare minimum, contributing money.
I'd never heard him speak English until now. Fascinating.
