Livestock Reform Town Hall
Industrial agriculture is rapidly expanding across Illinois, and many rural landowners and their communities are feeling the impact - especially when it comes to water use and quality of life. The Illinois Livestock Management Facilities Act has become outdated and ineffective due to some major changes within the industry. It's time to bring these issues to light!
In this Town Hall, we:
- Heard directly from those affected by the growth of industrial animal production,
- Discussed how local voices have been left out of the conversation,
- Explored potential legislation for the future, and
- Connected with others by sharing stories, concerns, and helped drive change!

How to Fix Lagging CTA & Metra Services
มุมมอง 47หลายเดือนก่อน
OCTOBER 23, 2024 Did you know Illinois funds just 17% of transit? Compare that to Pennsylvania or Massachusetts, which fund 40-50% of transit. This leads to lagging CTA & Metra services, for example. “The first step to increasing state funding is unifying the agencies,” says State Representative Eva-Dina Delgado. That's exactly why the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition is advocating to pass the Met...

Pathetic presentation!
Thank you Jen for the incredible dedication and leadership that you have provided for many years. All of Illinois, and beyond, owes you gratitude.
The Climate Reality Project Regenerative Agriculture Coalition supports your efforts to add RA policies and practices to the 2024 Farm Bill and encourage Illinois farmers to transition to RA practices to help mitigate climate change and reach net-zero goals before 2050.
Hello, thank you for uploading this for the public to see. I just wanted to point out the audio is very very low which makes it hard to understand.
Well deserved, Kady! We see all you do to make our world a better place and are so grateful!!! You are a blessing to Illinois and beyond!!
I imagine I am not on the list of lawyers who regularly agree with IDNR. Even so, it is good to see protection of private landowner rights by IDNR. One would hope our Courts would say that the public is allowed access to water for whatever uses ONLY from public lands- not from privately owned land. A right to trespass on another's land, so as to access a body of water said to be navigable and therefore public, cannot possibly be the law in Illinois nor would we think the law will ever be interpreted that way in the future. That view is not about curtailing public access; we just do not approve of trespass. We believe in private ownership of land. Public Trust doctrine and riparian rights are great! Thanks for covering these issues. I did not know about the pre-constitution Northeast ordinance of 1787 and I studied water law. Interesting discussion. We still have a spirit of liberty here in Illinois- it just doesn't include trespassing on private land. Thanks for the talk.
You have really turned IEC into an impactful significant organization for positive needed change. Thank you, Jen!!
What we appreciate appreciates as is seen in IEC. Sustainability is so important as is clean air and water. Unburdening our people from pollution is the righteous thing to do. Thanks for caring about our environment, Illinois! Having a seat at the table is what IEC has accomplished. Environmentalists at the table was sure missing when I worked for Illinois EPA decades ago. Great growth for a great cause. Nice to talk of the soul of Chicago. We have impactful souls in the Land of Lincoln dedicated to democracy and a healthy environment in and out of Chicago. Thank you, all!
Great to see the great work being done in Illinois to protect the environment. What a great impact of IEC and the member organizations. Great to see such impactful people honored. Go Kady! Go Green Caucus! Go IEC. Go good legislators! Great job! Volunteers and voters who care make all the difference too!
awesome to have such great impactful people in the Land of Lincoln. Congrats to IEC and the well deserving award winners! No sacrifice zones! Thank you!
what a great success. Thank you all and thank you voters of Illinois.
Wow what are you people putting in the water , ??? Does anyone in that town actually look at what's happening ??

Thanks for your much needed story Ms. Smith-Cox! It punctures the hot air balloon fearmongering of the troglodytes who claim that farming and renewables can't coexist and be beneficial to farmers. Be well!
Thank you Karen! I hope many people listen to you and understand that clean energy is a win-win for our farmers!
Thank you Karen Smith-Cox! We all need common-sense folks like you!
Love this. Thank you.

Thank you for this, however, is no one going to acknowledge, yet alone address, the lost acreage due to Coal Long-wall mining?

Thank you IEC for being instrumental in building political will for clean energy, clean air and healthy soil in Illinois.
He earned it.
Successful people prioritize. 1. End pandemic 2. Make Illinois first Midwest state to adopt carbon-free electric grid. Fix one problem before creating a new one.
It has taken the United States fifteen years to build the latest nuclear generating plant of size, in Georgia. Plant Vogtle units 3 and 4 will be the first new nuclear units built in the United States, hundreds of new jobs. Harvest Ridge wind facility in Illinois has taken nearly twelve years to build, represented to power 68, 000 homes at full capacity. During the recent heat wave in Central Illinois with little wind, the turbines were either at a standstill, or turning at very reduced rate. If we are serious about the climate and clean energy we had best get serious about nuclear energy. While individually these turbines occupy little ground, together they occupy and disrupt considerable acreage. Do your homework, wind and solar are not going to carry their own water. If cities still have lead in their water pipes, it's their own fault. The federal government cannot be expected bail out the failed leadership in these communities.
Jen's Team is a gem in Springfield!
Does IEC believe that 2050 is a sustainable date? Greens can get to renewable energy by 2030.
Even with the great success of the Future Energy Jobs Act, Illinois is not meeting FEJA’s goal of 25% renewable by 2025 at about 8% of our energy from renewables. CEJA's approach to rapidly ramp up renewable energy development so we can achieve 25% by 2025, 45% by 2030, and 100% by 2050 is realistic and achievable.
It went from chasing Industry General Iron out of Lincoln park to Chasing them out of the City I Think That The city should be ashamed of chasing Industry out of the City and the jobs it provides.
1) By reflecting away 30% of ISR the albedo, which would not exist w/o the atmosphere, makes the earth cooler than it would be without the atmosphere like that reflective panel set on the dash. Remove the atmosphere/GHGs and the earth becomes much like the moon, a barren rock with a 0.1 albedo, 20% more kJ/h, hot^3 on the lit side, cold^3 on the dark. Nikolov, Kramm (U of AK) and UCLA Diviner mission all tacitly agree. 2) the GHG up/down welling, “trapping”/”back” radiating/delaying/intercepting, 100 % efficient, perpetual warming loop requires "extra" energy which according to RGHE theory it gets from 3) the terrestrial surface radiating that "extra" energy as a near ideal .95 emissivity black body which 4) it cannot do because of the non-radiative heat transfer processes of the contiguous atmospheric molecules. 1+2+3+4 = 0 Greenhouse Effect + 0 Greenhouse gas warming + 0 man caused climate change.
You want to chase more jobs out of Chicago?isn't general iron planning on building a frag plant? Frank plants are the most efficient way to recycle metal. Recycling is the best thing you can do for the environment
You want to name these coal plants that failed because the stockpile iced up? Are you trying to say that they don't have dozers working the stockpile everyday. I'm going to call BS on that unless you give me specifics
