Mellon Foundation
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 22 มิ.ย. 2016
Did you know that the Mellon Foundation is the largest supporter of the arts and humanities in the US? We fund and celebrate the work of just communities and the visionaries who connect us all.

I love this poem.
Incredible conversation.
The humanities study the human condition.
I also had no idea Wolftrap was under the Dept of the Interior.
Thank you for posting these interviews on TH-cam. I missed out on the live event due to technical issues at the last minute. So, I'm happy to have this chance to hear Secretary Haaland. Much respect and gratitude to her.
As a former New Mexico resident, I'm so pleased that Sec. Haaland is leading this very important federal agency. Keep up the great work Sec.!
How amazing to hear Deb Haaland speak of indigenous languages being essential to painting a fuller picture not just of identity, but also of the land. Thank you
Good stuff here.
All of my 42 years i have never learned or heard about our (Dutch) history with the Lanape people. 2 weeks ago i learned about it in an Amsterdam Museum. I am stunned and horrified. I think very few people knew about it but times are changing. Love from Amsterdam ✌🏻❤️
Mellon is an incredible organization. Thank you for this video, and thank you for everything you do to support arts, humanities and higher education.
One of the greatest poems ever written, truly.
hi i;m Daniel i am an investor and i;m impressed with this positive loving organisation to be a part of i;m just sight seen i see so much potential and hope very pleased to see
Hi, im watching an interview with your mother Susana Alexander.
Kinda obssessed with this vid , every where they are like oh this is not even a science but bitch this is the hardest and best major ever:)
Rather than remove monuments, add your monument where you want. Removing monuments to history, does not erase history but hides it from the future. "They who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." But if you are here because you suspect something is up. Then congratulations. You found clear evidence of what's up and what their goals are. Be a thinker. The rabbit hole is vast and deep and filled with many deceptions and trappings. Remember...., "what luck for rulers that men do not think."

This poem absolutely crushed me when I first read it. Jericho is my new favorite.

Outstanding conversation. Thank you!!!
Thank you. Magnificent, wonderful.
Why does the additional factor (race) help only Blacks and Hispanics and hurt Asians? Anyone complains about Howard University having 80% Blacks, and sports NBA and NFL having 90% Blacks? Where is the value of diversity and affirmative action for Asians in NFL and NBA? Why are Asians always whipping boys in Ivy college admissions? How about Blacks who immigrated to the USA 2 years ago and have nothing to do with slavery? Why do they get a freeload?
Thank you for the info.
How pompous.. whoever said race conscious admission should be the responsibility of higher education. That burden should be on preK-12. Why are you propagating and justifying such unsustainable system without addressing root causes? Every second/resource spent on this video would be better spent addressing the real issues: parenting classes, resources for low-income single parents. Mellon foundation, what a waste of time.

the answer: it doesn't. Get rid of it, affirmative action sucks

I keep replaying the ending. "SOMETHING HAS TRIED TO KILL ME AND HAS FAILED" I am grateful to have discovered her being 💕💫
Enlightening!
Absolutely love this conversation and the centering of Puerto Rican identity by the Mellon Foundation and beyond!
Sometimes those of us who see and have a deep process that is very fair to all points of view and spends all their time giving thought to the problems we're facing just doesn't have a "celebrity status" voice to help people. I still try. But the soft power and cultural distraction has won the war. No one listens. I get called names or made fun of. Last time I checked so do a lot of artists and visionaries - some their entire lives and ends in persecution. Galileo 1633 -- guess he was right - so many people reflected on his persecution that the enlightenment just sort of happened with the help of some good coffee.
Thank you so much to Mellon Foundation to putting Puerto Rico in the spotlight. Much needed conversation and education around our amazing Island! Wepa!!!
Great video! Very concise
Wonderful work. So grateful. These are just some of the concrete goals of the Black Freedom Movement . Passing the torch to others is so important, understanding we have strong foundations on which we cam build even higher mansions. We’ve only just begun.
Love it!!!
the perfect poem. ♥

Wonderful poem and reading.
Thanks so much for addressing the issues to sustain artists in New York. We're excited to see how this program unfolds and wish you wind in your sails to collaborate and support the arts that we are counting on to uplift and heal society from the pandemic! Let this be the roar of the roaring 20's!
