High Country Turkey 2018
It was a slow morning and we hadn't located any gobblers. We happened upon one in a field, setup a couple decoys, called a few times, the gobbler responded and came right in. It was over less than 5 minutes after we spotted the bird. Another great hunt with Travis!

My 6yo son & I have a tom sneak up on us while we are trying to get setup. Not the greatest video, but it happened quick! I had to shoot it before it busted us. Great experience with my son. Area 47 Colorado spring turkey, 9" beard, 18lbs. Sun rising on Mt. Sopris.
Bebo hauls in a nice laker on Reudi Reservoir- @ 1:00 show throws the rod in fright!!!

Colorado High Country Spring Turkey Hunt
I was just thinking about rocky and i remembered this video😂
No snorkel necessary. The bottom of all crossings is packed gravel and you don't need any speed at all to get across, regerdless of what the Texans in rental Jeeps tell you.
Does he have his front sway bar connected? That 80 doesn’t flex for shit…
I saw some Hens at Kenosha Pass.
Great video, Nick. I'm a young guy in the valley who's gotten addicted to turkey hunting within the last couple of years. These videos are really inspiring, man. It's great to be able to watch along and learn some as well. Hope to run into you one day in the field.
Sweet homies eagleturkey call worked
Details on the camper pls!! Nice!
Yeah I know I know
I’ll drag my camper around with you in Colorado. I’m in the springs
Congrats!
That's badass, been following the build on ih8mud, gave me some good ideas
This would be an impressive video but I happen to see a Santa Fe do it with just tires ....do it first and do it a lot quicker as well . Fj80 is a beast just I don’t think hellsgate is much of a challenge when u got subarus and Hyundai’s doing it with little mods .
If they dropped the tyre pressure more it would walk up there so much easier
Is there any chance I could contact you somehow to ask questions about unit 47 for turkey? Thanks.
I see I'm not the only one who's PS pump cavitates at high angles of attack. :)
cool
skill
great hunt with your son, he did a great job recording !
cant stop an 80 LC :D
i just got my tag yesterday im gonna go 52 if nothing ill go to 61 or 421

Spotter sucked. Good thing the driver knew better in several sections.
Such a beautiful car
Good spotter!
Nothing better than spending time with your boy outside! My sons 7, such a privilege to see there reactions

gmu 61 is good
The diesel version is the HDJ-80. It is very hard to come by in the states as it was never sold here.
I like ur videos
Aww my turkeys are just starting to do that.
I am from Florida near Key Largo. I fished the flats using flies for Reds, Snook, Tarpon and Bonefish. I moved to colorado to do the mountain and the hunt in the mountain thing. I have spent a lot of money for all the gear to go hunting, specifically Turkey hunt that is in season right now, the question remains, WHERE.... Please any sugesstions??
I dont know where i am going. This is my first turkey hunt for me. Do you know any good units to hunt. Do you also know any tips for a rookie?
Nice bird! I'm starting to hunt up north this spring. What elevation were you at?
does the fzj symbolize what engine it has in it, i desperately want the 4.2 inline 6 turbo diesel
FZJ = Petrol 4.5 L HDJ = Turbo Diesel 4.2L I've had one of each. Love my HDJ80
What's with the hand signal gloves?
"Come on! Make it look good!" (i.e., snap your axle in half)
full floating XD
how is area 47 for elk. i was think about scouting this area for some time now. just not sure if its good or not. not much information online either.
what kind of trailer is that !! and do you have a clip showing hot it pops out? PLEASE
Yahtze!
Where i can get this camper?
I'm lookin at some 80's on the market. The year I'm looking at is the '97s. What ahs all been done with your rig?
Sweet, I went with the GTP Hood louvers.
this thing is a beast!!!
@kabodkhwaamkhid ...and no, I'm not into forums and all that. My life and careers require me to be pretty clandestine, and I'm a private person anyway.
@kabodkhwaamkhid No, most people would get it, at least that's my experience. Not everyone knows the FJ/BJ difference, when I say I have a BJ60, people (somesomes even 4x4 guys who have TLCs) say "what's a BJ? Sounds like a..." And that's why I think everyone just uses "FJ" it's familiar and doesn't sound like Mr. Slappy's private adventure time."
@kabodkhwaamkhid People would just say "I have a FJ47," if they know their TLCs, they'll know what you mean and the more specific name. If you were listing it for auction let's say, you say HJ47, but you don't need to be that precise when talking to fellow owners. Take Subaru for instance: I own a Subaru WRX STI ESX and a Litchfield Subaru WRX STI Type 25 Spec-C But saying all of that is way too much. I can say "STI" and people get it, or "Spec-C" / "ESX STI" for specifics.
@kabodkhwaamkhid ...I remember some of the interesting things like prior to WWII the US commissioned Japan to make a "Jeep." It was an early predecessor to the FJ40 and far superior to the Jeep in every way. The US bailed on the huge contract and it hit Japan hard, it's speculated that such actions lead to Japans attack on US soil. The few American Jeeps with Toyota engines did great during the war, while Jeeps were famous for breaking down and getting stuck - still true today.
