Baited Castaways
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 พ.ค. 2007
I’m a Southwest Florida outdoor and fishing castaway. Originally from Minnesota and taking on the deep blue sea for anything that bites. There will be plenty of fishing, paddle boarding, and boating.

Florida SHELLING w/ a Beachside COOKOUT 🍣
มุมมอง 41821 วันที่ผ่านมา
Today we are hitting the beach to find some shells and grab some lunch. We are in South Florida in Naples on Keewayden Island. This is a secluded beach that has amazing views. Great for hiking and spending the day on the sand. You will need a boat to get to this location. It is an island!

Camera work is way too jerky
I had that problem, me and my mate got stung. Those honey bee's hurt. Buddy broke his costa's.
I am 5/6
@@stoveg4659 I’m still 0/1
They just needed a place to rest You should have let them gather and drove to the shore
The girlfriend is allergic and was not in good spirits 😅
@BaitedCastaways well give her the old slap and tickle maybe she'll be in a better mood
Good fishing day. Nice video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
They are confused that sucks they will probably die cell phones or what's doing this
there's a nest on the boat somewhere
Definitely not the case. I believe it was them searching for a new place to call home. And sometimes they stop to rest and gather
Nope. It was a swarm. Looking for a new place to nest.
Nah believe it or not this happens more than you would think. You get a wind out of the east (if you live on the gulf like me) blows a swarm off shore and they try to find somewhere to land. This has happened to me a few times.
I'm confused. Da fuck are bees doing in the ocean?
No idea! All I can think is that we brought a couple out and the others followed.

Ha ha ha...jack 😎
Don't show Uncle Ron the fiddler crabs. He'll clean out the colony for sheepshead bait. 😎
@@MichaelZych Well, then he’s not invited!
Those are sand trout - no size & no limit in Florida. They are good to eat, very soft like speckled trout or whiting. Best fried in my opinion within a couple days of catching and not a fish to freeze, it gets very mushy.
@@NoleFan74 thanks for the info! I did hear that you shouldn’t freeze them. I’ll try them out
cool vid
@@sopeone4295 more to come!
Sea glass
FYI>.....it is no longer legal to remove any coral, alive, dead, fossilized, etc. One of those "Harmless" rules that can really bite you in the butt if you are ever inspected by FWC/ Fun video, love your ladies!
@@MareEgretsMoose thank you for letting me know! I could not find the laws on it.
We’ve been told by other shellers that tossing live shells into the water from a distance causes the muscle to detach from the shell, especially when they hit the ground first. 🙏
@@denise20240 this ones was definitely not alive, but that is good to know for the future finds
How are they going to hit the ground first if you throw them back into the water? Even if that were true, when they’re washed up that high out of the water, they are gonna dry out and die. I’ve seen it a thousand times. Throwing them back into the water at least gives them a chance at survival. Unless you want it to die so you can collect it later.
@ I’ve seen people toss them towards the water but they skip off the beach first.
I would like to see more videos of you fishing with your uncle who also lives in Florida.
😂 come on down! Another keeper Red, 4 snook, and 4 Jack today
Lots of nice shells ! That storm moving in looked really neat
Your GSP is beautiful!! I'm sure she keeps you real busy with endless energy haha
She is a handful for sure haha
Florida alphabet cones
Wow very nice collection
Thanks a lot
Florida fighting conch were the ones you thought may be alive. The mostly light yellow is Florida cone. And an alphabet cone. paper fig in the water- horizontal & vertical lines ❤
Paper fig
You need to learn the names of the shells so you know if you find something great :) Like all those alphabet cones were really good finds. Glad to see someone else appreciates the beauty of the lowly penn shells and their iridescence.
It’s a paper fig, the delicate shell. Please don’t throw the critters in a shell back in the water. Did you keep the catfish?
Paper fig
Wait, what happened to the fish? Did you take it?
It was a catfish. I let it go back
@@simsdad I put it back in the water. It was a catfish
The second one is an Iridescent Pen Shell
It's a fig shell.
I remember going to the beach with a hurricane. It was fun playing with the waves. Smart you are in a group for if something goes wrong. We went to Clearwater Fl . We have rode beside a tornado. We loved it. People thought we were crazy and probably was but we had alot of fun. We had the beach to ourselves.
This people are crazy 🤯🥺😳
Can you spell stupid what are you those ppl doing in the water
Awesome intro and video
Put those boots on to avoid falling in lol.
@@diorpalms good idea! Ha!
Time to upgrade to a wind canceling microphone for your next videos. Best of luck.
If I had to guess you had a Goliath. A shark I would expect to keep moving.
@@MichaelZych that was my best guess as well
It's a snoooooooook!
Notice how we both knew we didn’t have a net @michaelzych
@@BaitedCastaways what happened to the other one?
Hell yeah
Sweet catch. It's amazing you got it to the boat.
I've never seen someone use sand fleas for snapper. Pretty cool Also, never leave a line unattended 😅
and you got to keep your yellow belly
@crazyfast999 put double a batteries in the reel and twist the handle, i have that rod
Yep, a glowstick with a saltstriker baitcaster reel.
