Our Somali parents need to do better. How can they justify in this day and age, how they raise their boys to be useless? The girls are getting their education, working full time and still expected to do all the housework and cooking while their sons sit around doing jack all! How is that fair? Let’s face it the girls contribute more financially in the majority of households than the boys, so why do we get rid of tradition in that regard but keep it when they act like it is ceeb for a boy to be in the kitchen? Sorry if I sound bitter but I am. I know this doesn’t apply to all Somali households. Shoutout to those amazing parents raising their kids to be successful adults.
