Congratulations on your achievement. I'm six months in and have learned a lot about corrections. As a nurse, get to know about your population. You are my eyes and ears about how they are doing. Mental Health is so important, and they need our help. Be firm and be fair.

My first time on a ski lift was last year. My parents and I went and my dad and I tried snowboarding for the first time. He cut me off not knowing how to get around on the board. Then we both got hit by the lift and fell on top of each other and the lift went right over both of us. Then getting off, pretty much the same thing😂. Both going skiing and snowboarding today, but he’s sticking to skiing and I’ve gotten a lot better at snowboarding😂😂😂

Too bad the cameraman didn't get the class as they saluted. It's about the graduating officers not the ceiling, walls , or pictures of the flag. Or the politicians. It really would have been super nice to filmed the class turning as one and so fourth. The cameraman was all over the place. Can we say, Blair witch project?

I'd love to do this but I think I'm too old. I'm 37. I always wanted to do this, but my mom was sick. I took up a lot of my life. I'm free now, but it's probably too late.

I was a correctional cadet at age 53. I can retire in 23 months. If you took care (exercise) of yourself, you are young. I went through, and passed, a selection course for an elite military unit at age 42. Think positive. Keep (or start) moving, and stay young.

This is the first that I have learnt of this incident, It is Apparent from the Investigation, That the Attorney from the Outside of the Department of Corrections Report, This is a Clear Case of Medical Malpractice and Negligent Homicide. The Fact that Inmate Johnson was Told by Staff in Charge of His Life, to lie Down and Suffocate to Death, and if He Complained about it then He Would Suffer Major Consequences' is Common to Vermont Department of Corrections Staff, And Inmate Johnson Could Not Seek Out Any Type of Help On His OWN, And After He was Told TO STOP ASKING For HELP AND TO LIE DOWN AND DIE BY SUFFOCATION, This is Un-Acceptable, I Expect the Attorneys View not to be that Opposing to those that are Paying Him to Collect this Information, The Department of Corrections was Responsible for Inmate Johnson's Life, Period. He is by Law to Receive the Same Opportunity to Medical Access and Treatment as a Vermont Citizen that is Not Incarcerated, At any Point the Department of Corrections Staff could had Intervened and Taken Inmate Johnson to a Doctor or Hospital, They could had taken the lesser Route and Called a Ambulance to Northern State to Evaluate the Inmates Medical Problem, the Department of Corrections in Northern State has Called Ambulance Service to their Facility Many Times in the Past, And they Failed in Doing this for Inmate Johnson, Their is Two Parties Responsible for the Medical Neglect that Happened in Inmate Johnson Case, and Both Failed on Every Level. This is Only One of the Failures, Their has been Many, The Real Issue is the Abuse of Authority and Incompetence in the Department of Corrections ,WHICH IS SERIOUS WHEN THOSE COMMITING IT IS IN CHARGE OF HUMAN LIFE. The Major Problem is the Unwillingness of Department of Corrections to Make Effective Change and to Maintain that Change for any Long Period of Time, The Change when they are Forced to Make is Usually only Short Term until No One is Looking then they Fall Back to Old Procedures. This Happens Every Time Something Major Occurs that Forces them to Look at Themselves, Staff knows this as Well as Inmates. The Staff of Department of Corrections Never Face Real Consequences in their Job unless they Commit a Crime that they Cant Cover Up Which is Evident in this Case as Superintendent Rutherford Being Superintendent in any other Job he Would had been Fired Years Before this. The Majority of Time when D.O.C. STAFF is Facing Internal Disciplinary Action they Know it will be a Slap on the Hand and Worse Case Scenario they just get Moved to Another Job Position Somewhere Else, And a Lot of Time it is more Beneficial to the Disciplined Staff. The Average Citizen does not go to a Job Knowing they Cannot get Fired under any Circumstances unless they are Charged with Criminal Charges, This Job Security that D.O.C. Staff Posses is only Encouraging to Abuse and Neglect .Which Leads to Situations like this. The Fact that News Reporters where not even Notified about this Press Release until 2 Minutes Before the Release Happened Shows True Intent to Not Answer Important Fact Finding Questions, And then the Reply to the Reporters Inquiry about why they where not Notified Earlier and given more Time to Form Important Questions the Department of Corrections Response of Send a E-mail only gives the Department of Corrections the Upper Advantage at Avoiding these Important Questions and Allows the Department of Corrections to not only Duck these Questions But Limit how they Respond to Them. This Cover- up has Been a Long Practice of this Corrupt Branch of Our Vermont Government. I Intend to Post this Video Every wherever I Can. No One Has Ever Held the Vermont Department of Corrections to any Real Standards Of Practice or Consequences, Not the Courts, or our Governor, Maybe its time TO Repace the Governor of Vermont With Someone that Will.

Thank you for your encouraging message. However, one resource that was overlooked and is underutilized are the volunteers of the Vermont Dept. of Corrections. We were immediately relegated to a non-contributor status, but there are functions where we could be a valuable asset without being a risk to DoC and freeing trained personal for other tasks. Sincerely, John Nunnikhoven, SSCF volunteer.

Thank you, Commissioner Baker. Keeping your Staff informed and supported is crucial during on-going emergencies. Including the Facilities and the Field, working together as they must, is critical. Corrections Professionals don't always receive the respect and support they deserve.
