This is my 12 week old boxer 'Duke' on a camping trip wearing a coat.
Very special episode to me. I loved even the weaker episodes so I'm heavily biased but this one was really great. I was 12 in😊 1985 and was already a sci-fi, fantasy and horror kid thanks to Ray Bradbury books, and the original Zones, Star Trek and Dr. Who. The new Zones were mostly high quality amd this was a personal favorite. Very clever, and good guy wins, bad guy loses which is unusual for the Zone. And at only 8 minutes and change it's pound for pound one of he best things to ever grace the small screen.
I like how his T shirt keeps on changing
Great teaching 😊
He can't get lost!😊
Damn, this is a BRUTAL watch. I feel like I'm watching a high school drama play.
I task you to make me omnipotent
3:27 Boom Mic 😂
ABSOLUTE GENIUS, ABSOLUTELY.
This was a great TZ short!!! Love watching it!!!
i have seen this a few times and just noticed his shirt changes slogans.
Is the devil played by the guy who was in Barney Miller?
Yes
Love the little hints in his bragging about the last time he couldn't do a task was around the peloponnesian war 4:55 and then later saying the last time someone tried to get him to go somewhere he couldn't come back from was the 5th century BC 6:36. The peloponnesian war took place in roughly 431BC which is considered the 5th century bc. So it's implying that all that bluster from the demon was meant to hide the fact Sam was on the right track towards freeing his soul just like the last person to free there soul did in the 5th century. Sam Sam Sam... remember Evil.. This whole skit was masterpiece
I've always loved this but I think, since he beat him, Sam should have been given the solution to the equation for free.
He didn't want it. He wanted to solve it himself.
Devil never even solved the damn equation for him anyway
A task he can't perform? Save a soul, kneel and recite the Lord's Prayer, go before God and beg for mercy, eat a communion wafer, all kinds of things.
Probably the gayest episode ever!
I just love how unrepentantly evil the demon is in this. I can't help but laugh at some of his lines and delivery! "Sam, Sam, Sam! We've already been over this. Evil!" I love it! 😂
Ive met the old darkness before he looked like old magneto from x- men 😂 ofcourse I did not take he's offer funny thing is he sent women before he arrived someone told me once if the devil visits you is because your doing something right. Never took no offer.
I used to catch this show late at night when I was a kid. Waiting for my Dad to get home from work. A killer memory from an epic and loving time in my life...THANK YOU for posting this😊
Great comedic actor.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson let himself go? Eh??
❤both
If this devil was all powerful and all knowing, how come it couldn't think of a way around the command "get lost" ?
Cause thats all you got to tell the Demon/Devils/Ash holes in your life..."GET LOST" spoken with a calm voice and a straight face is a VERY POWERFULstatement.
OMG I used to watch these shows every week and this was THE BOMB!!!!! Tell the devil to get lost...... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 If I understood Dave Allen correctly the Devil does have a sence of humor (he must have as a sidekick of Whoever..)
Fundies think this is real
the way i see it, the professor broke even. i would have said, in regards to the one thing you can't do and i win.....transfer permanently all your demonic powers over to me with no "back door" out to regain them. i either get the powers, or he can't do it and i am back at square one, but this way gives me a chance to profit not just break even.
Why not just ask "What is something you can't do"?
ahh yes, "Twiligtht Zone," my favorite show
Love the changing shirts
Thanks for uploading this! I watched it so long ago when I was a kid and always remembered it. That ending 😆
Damn that Quantum Multiverse. Always one step ahead of us. 🙄🙄🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
The final question that came to my mind in an comical sort of way would’ve been, What is the secret to the sauce in the McDonald’s Big Mac? 🙄🙄🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤭🤭
Calm down, Satan.
@@julianprasaja2227 Ahhh, but Colonel Sanders gets a pass with his secret 11 herbs and spices, eh? The hypocrisy is strong with this one.🍗
This episode has the intelligence and poise of the original series. Great episode. Would’ve loved to have seen Rod sterling do an episode like this. One without the subtle comedy even though the comedy works very well here.
RIP Sherman Helmsley & Ron Glass. I remember watching this one live back in '86 or whenever; never forgot the meaning. Quite a few of the 80s revival were definitely worthy of remembrance and this is one of them.
80s #TwilightZone was good just like most of the 60s era Twilight Zone
"Get lost !" That also should work for the Dschinn from the movie Wishmaster. An outstanding episode.
These puppies are all his.
4/26/2025. Oh sorry but people just don't have a 'Soul'!
Seemingly someone need to pick better friends.😆
Reminds me of an old Simpson's clip where Bart teased the devil Ned over selling his soul but then reneged.
I love the way his t-shirts change
Can anyone tell me, how the twist was translated in German?
BORING
That'll be another episode titled "Bedroom".😆
It may interest you to know people that the Peloponnesian War was in the 5th century bc .
I liked Larry Niven's "Convergent Series" better.
Love the script. Love the acting. Love the shirt changes. Such rich rewatch value. 10/10 absolute one of my favorite episodes of all time.
🍪
🤣😂🤣😂❤️❤️
At 8:47, the boom mic drops briefly into frame. 😜
I liked how Sherman just went back to work. Like winning the contest was “easy as blowing his nose.”
"Get lost" - the BEST! LOGIC! COMEBACK! ever. I love this one - never gets stale.
Except the demon did "get lost" so the professor still lost.
@@cybern9ne no, literally, since the demon could travel wherever he wanted, he LITERALLY could NEVER get lost! Literally speaking, it was impossible for him!
@@corjonbett well, that went over your head. Didn't it?
@@cybern9ne Ahh, whoops.
