Dieses Werk ist für mich persönlich mystisch. Als "Erstlingswerk" kaum fassbar, auch wenn es bei Weitem kein Erstlingswerk ist. Haydn war bei der Geburt dabei, hat sich geäußert! Dies alles höchst historisch. Dann wird es 25 Jahre später noch einmal "hergenommen" aus welchen Anlässen auch immer. Wie für viele Geschwister gilt: aus einem Geblüt, nicht immer aus einem Gemüt. Zweimal der gleiche Genius, eine lange Zeitspanne dazwischen.... Danke für die überaus schöne und feine Interpretation!

The first viola playing of the second subject in the first movement is a real treat, and then when the violin comes in it is even more lovely. No wonder Brahms was pleased with himself (unusually) after he wrote this.
