@@poetryambience9236 Check out 'The Singer's & Actor's Throat' by Norman A. Punt. There are other books like this as well that describe use of the voice, how it's modulated, and so forth.

This is definitely a very evocative poem and creates powerful imagery. I'd say you were very perceptive to grasp some of this in the 3rd grade. Thanks very much for the comment and for visiting the channel, and I'm really happy that you enjoy classic poetry.

I'm glad this poem was helpful to you. Yes, the author of the poem is Robert Louis Stevenson, who wrote the great classic book "Treasure Island".
