I used to go to Lechmere every week to play Mortal Kombat on SNES. Man I miss those days.

Loved going to Lechmere at Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers as a kid to check out the stereos. I think it’s now a Target.

A film about MOBILE COLOUR TV ...... Filmed in BLACK & WHITE! 👎😂

During the early 70s, I worked on a large TV mobile truck. It was used for on location sports events, and for producing on location commercials. Lots of physical work for the crew to run the heavy camera cables, connect the electrical, set up the lighting to etc. The electronics were a combination of vacuum tube and solid state technology. Equipment was heavy to handle and access for servicing was not easy.

This company had a store in Woburn and that store and we were in had a special station for workers there. I visit that station, even though I never worked there and the company and Station closed before I was even born, what I do have a love for abandoned train stations.

Fond memories of going into the flagship location in East Cambridge (where the Galleria Mall is) in the late 70s/early-80s! If I remember correctly, they had lay-a-way. I was usually with my family and we lived in the projects so... LOL!

Arthur Collins, is there a video with this department store's ceiling fans? If not can you please upload one? This department store's ceiling fans were discontinued in early to mid 1993; 4 and a half years before this department store closed.

I remember this video! Lol I worked there in 97 when they closed shop.

Lechmere will always be my favorite retailer. Prior to MW buying them out, they carried quality products and had almost anything you wanted. From sporting goods,cameras,luggage, jewelry, music they had it all. Can’t begin to count how many hours I spent in this store in the 80’s. It was the best and there will never be another like it.

Anybody remember Dave Ruane who worked in the Danvers store? He was also a Teacher in the Malden public school system. Loved Lechmere for their Stereo equipment.

Oh Boy I remember seeing this when I started, I opened the Distribution ctr in GA . in 1986 Promoted to warehouse Mgr Clearwater Fl , then Greenville SC, had 2 kids and they decided to close the southeast region. Wanted to send me to Boston glad I never went as they closed those stores too.

The exact store a lot of our commodore 64 and amiga software came from. And probably TV's and the original twin console VCR! Though I was more enamored with the "Let's Pretend" toy store inside the mall

The switcher is definitely NOT a Grass Valley (GVG) but more likely a Riker switcher. Riker was popular and well known for their special effects units. (Riker Industries, L.I. NY). GVG was not a player in the switcher market in the mid 60's. GVG came along in late 60's , early 70's with switchers. There is also a Riker 2RU frame mounted just below the Tektronix 526 vectorscope and is probably a Riker video test signal generator or sync generator.
