Dragon Powered Mass Fabrication - Minecraft: Statech Industry #31
In this episode of Statech Industry, we set about fixing our power problems and finally converting off of steam powered. No. Not that way. Not with nuclear. We get around to setting up the Tech Reborn Dragon Egg Energy Siphon, which necessitated making an ender dragon boss crusher to farm eggs with for it. With our power problem sorted out, we set up a Tech Reborn mass fabricator for UU Matter to mass produce iridium with.

Endermen making a mess as usual xD same in my worlds. I'm considering turning off enderman mob griefing in my world if it gets too bad. Didn't realize how messy the MI cables can get; it looks like spaghetti in some sections lol. Seems like the dragon egg is a nice source of power relative to the steam you have, and it's passive too!
I just need to finally sit down and sort through all the mods and see if there's anything like a teleportation anchor to make sure they die in the mob farm. I still need to remove the blaze spawner that's also somehow occasionally spawning them outside my farm. The MI pipes honestly aren't too bad, it's not really any worse than ender.io conduits used to be. The main issue with them is that filters apply to both in and out at the same time, so it's hard to only use a single item pipe for multiple steps. The dragon egg siphon is mostly nice since it's not eating a fuel, which was the sorta thing that was occasionally bricking my whole base when the steam ran out before. They're VERY expensive to make though. Each one eats 32 digital circuits and those take a while to replace. Slowly increasing buffers to deal with it again.
Finally an episode
Thank you so much again for these videos! I noticed you responded to my previous comment so I was wondering what you have set up for your sword and those pickaxes? It's confusing to know what are good materials to use. Thank you! <3
So honestly, this was far enough back that I can't remember. Early game I tend to go with iron for magnetism, copper for more xp, and bone for more damage. I think I may have used dragon bone in this pack though since dragon skeletons are really easy to find in deserts. Late game, the main thing you want is restonia as soon as you get the atomic reconstructor from actually additions. You'll also want to add a diamond and an emerald as soon as you have levels to add them to add a large chunk of stats. Beyond that, I'd just recommend making and reading through the materials and you book from tinker's construct. It's pretty easy to make, and I think the second one has a list of all the available materials and what they do.
Bro your music is way to loud compared to your voice. Thank you so much for making these videos!
That was 3 years ago at this point. If you skip ahead like 10 videos, it gets better, I had a lot of lessons learned in those first 10 or so.
Geez the mob crusher and boss crusher sound effects are quite disgusting, although what do I expect from those things xD they're quite accurate. I can relate to things taking more effort than I anticipated or not realizing that I'm not there yet; it happens way too often.
Yeah, I intentionally left it in so people could hear the first time it ran. Normally I mute the machine noises, but those were just awful enough to share.
How do you make the advanced generator though ?

hey Ard! I only pop in from time to time to check in out of curiuosity, but glad you're doing this hobby in a healthy way and prioritizing the more important things in life; I really respect that, and is something I'm still learning to do. Congratulations on the 1k subs, hope you heal quickly, and best wishes to you and your family! P.S. I found you through Three's Patreon list on his Discord server lol
Thank you, I'm mostly better again now. I honestly have no idea how I used to manage 2 videos a week at this point. I've just also listened to Impulse and Skizzleman talk about work/life balance and full time vs part time on their podcast multiple times, and the regret they've had regarding family trying to succeed at this, and it's helped me come to terms some with the reality of my situation. I probably won't ever be huge, and that's okay. I'm just happy if I entertain a few people and myself along the way. You finding me through Three's discord is one of those things that's made me nervous ever since I joined it honestly. I'm kinda deeply aware of how high up the list that puts my name, and that place is not my home, it's his. I didn't join there to poach viewers, I'm just a huge fan of him. We both started at about the same time, and on the same pack. He just beat me to completion by like a year, and became much better at video production than I am in that same time. He's one of the other youtubers I respect most, right up there with Etho.
Just started this modpack a few weeks ago, so excited to watch your play through! I’ve learned several things already, helps so much to see another play style. Much love dude, just on ep 10
Thank you very much, I appreciate the thoughts. Glad you're enjoying it. Learn from me though, as I just discovered in the last few days, super bulk up on aluminum production. It's like the number one resource gate in the pack due to how much of it goes into circuit production. I'd thought I had enough, I was super, super wrong, which becomes immediately apparent as soon as you hit the HV and EV tiers and it just eats thousands like it's nothing.
my chalice does not feed the starlight infuser
ok placed it directly next to it, now it does... thank you good tutorial
Okay, glad you figured it it out. I would haven't have been much help since I would have assumed it wouldn't work with it since it's not actually from Astral Sorcery. Good to know it does though if I ever go back to this at some point.

@@Ardcraft awe, seems like a game of crafting that you'd excel at. Love to see the Minecraft content continuing
Shapez io goes hard
Yeah, I liked it, but I also didn't get more than two sessions with it before I lost interest. The big issue I ran into was that it all felt too samey after a bit. I'm waiting for it to get out of early access at this point.
I could use some help here folks. I tried something new here with @Threefold. style timelapses because I personally really like them, and I think they do a good job of showing and not telling progress, but they're a lot of work to do. They pretty much take me as long to edit as the whole rest of the video, at least right now. I know I'm pretty rubbish at matching to the beat so far, but this is only like the second time I've done this. Were they worth doing, did they add anything positive? Should I keep doing this?
Take this with a grain of salt, because I do not watch Threefold too much and minecraft in general. When you did building time lapses back in E2E or even in episode 3 of this series I could relate to that. It was satisfying watching a structure build. But here you do not have a flow of the process. I am not familiar with the machines, and maybe this is why it is confusing to me, but here you switch between the activities, you lay cables where it would be enough to just show that they are connected, you show parts where you move about to reach the place where you will be building, it is somewhat inconsistent in terms of pace. Imagine you have an array of machines: you lay the floor for them, you put them one by one, you hook the power one by one, you configure the sides one by one, then you show the crafting starting, then items flowing to the container. It would be a concise self contained similarly paced process with lots of repeatable steps that matches the beat. That would maybe fit what you are saying. No crafting in between, all similar activities grouped together, no jumping back and forth between crafting and placing etc. If you were having fun doing that segment - keep doing that. If it was a chore I think it was not nearly as satisfying as the other things you did in the past.
I am glad you are back!
Thanks Tamat. I was trying to get this out last week but it was just one bottleneck after another and I couldn’t even get started on the main topic. I had the intro filmed like 3 weeks ago.
@@Ardcraft don't feel bad - I have filmed the intro for my next episode a year ago...
I'm not judging anyone other than myself here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
first😅😊
We are playing statech, ive completed all of the spectrum mod, except for the suspicious brew and freigeist recipes which wont unlock. I can't work out what i have to do to unlock them, and was hoping your vid would show the recipe for suspicious brew 🥲
I'm not going to lie, I've given up trying to figure out the missing unlocks for that mod. I've got a handful of things not unlocked yet still also. It's just a frustrating mess of a mystery box.
Okay, and I just loaded up my world, and even more confusingly, I do have the suspicious brew unlocked, and I did make it. I don't remember having done anything special to do so at the point where I would have done this. The only thing I can recommend at this point is maybe check the advancements. It does list the titration barrel having been used prior to it in the list, so maybe it's something like that. As far as your other ones, I know there's some stuff that requires a jade bulb from one of the ruins that I never found that gates some minor stuff as well. edit: Oh, I should also note that there are two pages of advancements, and, at least in my instance, they aren't next to each other on the advancements menu.
@@Ardcraft thanks so much for replying. I finally found what I was missing, there's a button in the book under 'infused beverages' that I never noticed before, that makes you confirm your drinking age and unlocks a lot of the titration barrel recipes. I do like this mod but I agree it can be soooo annoying and frustrating when you are just missing one thing and can't find anywhere to tell you what you are missing.
Oh geez, I completely forgot about that. Glad you sorted it out, and yeah, that's a large part of what I found frustrating with the mod. The whole thing with stepping into the liquid crystal to unlock the enchanting table made me stabby.
Buddy this is an excellent tutorial thank you so much. Just getting back into the mod scene after not having hardware that could handle post-1.7.10 mods for forever. Playing E2E finally and BOY am I glad to have a quick, painless, and effective breakdown of this. Also if I wasn't gonna like for the aforementioned, I definitely would still have liked for the self-roast at the end, that gave me a good chuckle. I fear I may relate a little too much. Cheers!
Glad you found it helpful. Thankfully the mod mostly just looks scarier than it actually is. It helped with a bunch of my subsystems in my E2E playthrough.
how do u do black iron
There are a few ways using an induction smelter. One requires tough alloy from nuclearcraft which you can either rarely get from melting armors down from a mob farm in an arc furnance, or else you need to go fully into nuclearcraft to make it. The other is using TONs of coke to make hop graphite to make it. The third uses blocks of black quartz from actually additions. What you use will depend on how far in you are into the various mods.
3:23 Thank you for this video, I was absolutely clueless on how to change star systems and google didn’t help much either. Then I saw you casually click that Up button and I realized it was that simple 😆
Glad you got it sorted then. There’s a distressing amount of stuff for that mod that’s poorly documented.
@@Ardcraft Agreed. First time trying it, awesome mod overall but documentation is lacking and it needs a bit more polish imo
I started watching for Ad Astra and am staying for the intros and have now binged through the Playlist to this point. Very entertaining!

What is your source for emeralds for them to be so free?
So this was like 3 years ago at this point but I think I was manually trading crops because it was low effort. It’s possible it was coming out of my sieve farm though.
Ard can you play enigmatica 2 expert extended
I’m tempted by it, but it would honestly probably take me forever at the rate I go. It’s much longer than E2E and that took me over a year as it was. My friend Tamat is doing a run through E2EE though. m.youtube.com/@tamatlt7469
The spyhole block is pretty interesting. Can you put multiple blocks down for a bigger view? Both vertically and horizontally?
Nvm you just stacked them. I should finish watching the video before asking 😅
Yeah you can. I did 2 vertically at one point during the video. It does help but only so much. The amount of stuff genned down there makes it hard to see anything.
I suppose a nearer object can obscure an object further away that was in the line of sight quite easily. Are they expensive to make? A 5x5 would be good to look through.
Honestly, I don't remember the cost offhand, the issue is that you'd have to keep moving them around. I loaded up a copy of the world in creative and just flew around in spectator for a bit just to go see if I could find mixing ruins at all. I found two, but neither were all that close to my base, and I'd have never found them with universe spyholes since they were buried under other stuff. I'm not a fan.
Good work man keep on going
Thank you very much, I appreciate it.
You can upgrade the mekanism machines to factories with the tier installer upgrade. Super useful
I don't know if this is a correction or a version difference, but I'm on xnet-1.18-4.0.9 in the Stoneblock3 pack. The way the channel names work, is that it doesn't actually matter what you name the channels in the 2 controllers. They don't have to match each other, or the editable channel names in the outer. However, the names you apply in the router have to match. So your setup could have been "blue energy" on the blue controller, "red energy" on the red controller, and "energy" on *both* channels in the router. I did exactly this setup, and it worked fine.
It's possible the mod has just been updated to address this since I made the tutorial as well. It was definitely required when I recorded this a year and a half ago. I haven't played a pack with xnet in it since then though however so I haven't been watching for updates.
Nothing obvious stands out in the changelog for the mod however: github.com/McJtyMods/XNet/blob/1.20.4_neo/changelog.txt
I am playing ATM9 and was wondering if MEGA cells is just simply better than the AE Additions storage cells following the 256k cells from Applied Energistics 2. Is there any benefit the AE Additions cells provide? Or is MEGA cells just stronger?
Okay, until this comment, I hadn't even heard of AE2 Additions. This was further complicated by the fact that there's apparently more than one mod named that, so I pulled down ATM9 to take a look. As far as I can tell, they're pretty close to the same, at least in ATM9. Mega has a higher sized top storage cell, but AE2 additions has the super cell which doesn't appear to care about what type of thing you're storing in it and deep storage cells for bulk storing a single item type. This is further complicated by AE2 Things also existing in the pack, which also has a deep storage cell that does the same thing. For the most part, I'd say you can probably use whichever, but I'd also question what you need that much storage for any one type of item for to begin with. It's usually a symptom of bad factory design where you're not shutting things off when they're full or voiding items to avoid jamming up logistics.
That pyramid is looking cool! Wish you all the best, bro \o/
Thanks :) I just wish I had more time to detail it the ways I'd wanted to when I started. Just another thing that got dropped to the wayside due to lack of time. I've been at least trying to keep it from looking terrible (holes in the walls right now not forgotten).
Hey Ard! I have waited until I see your name as 1k, like in the latest Talos Principle 2 before I comment. Congratulations!!! I see you commented below that you are far off big time. I disagree. The sea of minecraft players is vast, and if you look at various lists online only first 100 of them are above 100k subs. That is from 170 million players. I do not have the numbers but you might be in the top 1% by the subscriber count. This is of course not what matters. Content creation (very corporate language) is not the goal. Having fun is. Like your very first series on E2EE was super fun. Much more so that most of the garbage that top 0.1% of minecraft youtubers usually produce. So do not be too hard on yourself - even if you are the only player in your world most jokes do not have to be at your expense. Schedules could be also extremely restrictive. It is good to set some rules, but like you said, you do this while working full time, having family and getting sick. Schedules aught to reflect that. I like your videos, I think you are very talented and I hope you grow, not exactly in youtube sense (I do still hope that these things go hand in hand) but in how you approach making videos and what you get out of the process. Best of luck and have a nice day!
Oh, I'm pretty deeply aware of how few people ever make it to 1000, and how few make it even higher than that and how many years it takes. I never even expected myself to get even this high. At least it's not what's been causing me to burn out. If anything, I wish I had more time to funnel into it, I currently have no end to the stuff I want to film, just a lack of free time. It's part of why I keep overpromising and underdelivering because I bite off more than I can chew sometimes. I'd intended to do a story with the statech industry series, but I just flat out didn't have the time. It's why I went with my skin being greys. I was going to use spectrum to bring the color back. Just ideas that I never had the time to bring to life. Glad to see your videos still popping up, I was worried for a bit it'd gone dormant. Thank you for all the support over the last 2 years or so now.
@@Ardcraft my pleasure! I am not dormant, it's just it takes me 3-4 months to make a video. I tend to not advertise the schedule - it comes out when it comes out. I am here for the fun of it.
Big hearts and lots of positivity your way!
I'm glad you're almost at the big time. I've learned a lot from your videos and discovered some modpacks that flew under my radar. Statech especially!
Heh, I'm so so far off from the big time. I'm still basically non-existent as far as youtube is concerned. Minecraft is almost impossible to break into without a lot of luck and time at the wheel. Even most of the hermitcraft people took 6+ years of doing it nearly full time before they cracked 100k+. I'm just happy to be making progress at all. Glad you're still around :)
@@Ardcraft Your tutorials have always been spot on. I tend to think you cover the stuff that other creators just assume everyone knows. Like the AE2 P2P finally gave me an understanding of how to do it.
The irony is I wouldn’t know what those did if not for Threefold, so the circle of life goes round.
what a good time for me to discover your channel ^_^
Well good news, assuming I stop being lazy and/or sick, things should be starting back up next weekend. Welcome aboard :)
I hope you get to feeling better. Can't wait for you to hit 1000 subs. You deserve it :D
I've been mostly a bit better the last few days, so hopefully it was just a weak cold again. Now I just have to be willing to film what should be the last Spectrum episode. Can't keep ducking it the way you duck modern industrialization ;)
@@Ardcraft Haha, nah you can always squeeze more out of spectrum:D
Im glad for your succes i wont care about the ads i hope you continue with your work :D
Thank you, I appreciate it. On the upside, I've mostly been feeling better the last two days, so new videos should be coming again as soon as I can stomach filming the (hopefully) last video about Spectrum :x. The part that people don't seem to realize is that youtube changed it's ad policies a year or two ago. They can show them whether or not I get paid or have it turned on. This only changes it so I actually do get paid for it.
Glad you'll start getting compensated for your work, if I had Kids I'd be glad if they watched your channel, very family friendly, entertaining and informative. Advertisers will love it.
Ironically, my kids do watch my videos. They're the only people I deal with who actively complain when I don't put out new content. I don't really have any actual control over the ads, honestly, other than basically opting in to getting paid for it. It's done by general category, and youtube can play them even if I have monetization turned off (like right now, since I'm still not actually at 1000 yet).
Oh right, and unrelated to any of that, thanks for sticking around, and for the help you've given over this last series, I appreciate it :)
I wish you covered more use cases for items and such. If you have to have a matching channel on each router that interacts with one another, how do you expand the network's bandwidth (ie more machines like you mentioned)? At face value, it sounds like you'd be sharing the same 8 channels no matter how many routers are connected.
So the easiest way to think about it is probably to picture each channel as a long item pipe connecting to a bunch of machines like any another other pipe type mod, except these can only insert or extract into each machine, not both. The way you manage it is the same way as you would in other mods, you apply filters to restrict what each pipe machine can give or take. Then realize that you effectively have 8 pipes of varying types going into each machine via a single connection. The main difference is that I generally have to commit two of the channels specifically to ping pong back and forth between item input and output. The main example would be doing something like the following for basic ore processing: 1) Channel 1 - Extract ore from a chest 2) Channel 1 - Insert ore into a macerator 3) Channel 2 - Extract dust from a macerator 4) Channel 2 - Insert dust into a furnace 5) Channel 1 - Extract ingots from the furnace 6) Channel 1 - Insert ingots into a chest The main benefit over other logistics mods is the ability to set all of this up from the controller and not having to go hunt for each individual connection manage it. I hope that clears it up some.
Oh right, and the routers. So there's no direct way to increase the number of channels on any given xnet controller's network. The whole point of the routers if for sharing full channels between multiple networks in the event you need things like a shared power channel for all your machines, or a single fluid channel that can pipe any fluid anywhere you have them connected, or a mass import into shared storage or the like. You can effectively do things like 6 unique channels in each router subnet with 2 shared channels, or something along those lines.
Great Googly Moogly that thing is Juicy.
I love the referencing of an old Etho series in a video about a 1.20 mod! I only came here to know if mob imprisonment tools was in the newer version, thanks for showing the item list!
Etho deserves more recognition than he often gets. I'm glad he's still around and just doing his thing the way he likes and hasn't started chasing numbers.
Playing E2E here and I dont understand how I get power to other machines connected to the second controller. I works as you showed but unfortunately you didnt show connected machines to the second controller
I’ll have to find some time to install e2e and test this in creative to see how it all works in 1.12, but in the mean time here are a few things to try. You have to bootstrap the second controller with power to bring it online, same as the first, with an energy cube or something. You also need to have both the controllers and antennas on both sides chunk loaded. If that’s been done, as long as you have the same energy channel name on both controllers and linked via the router, it should work. I stress the should, since I haven’t yet tried this in 1.12 myself.
@@Ardcraft Yea I think I was missing the bootstrap first, I ended up having other issues with Thermal Expansion not working with power distribution but that might be to how little im generating right now and how the distribution is favoured, I dropped it for now and will only work with item and fluid transport and provide power differently which frees up a channel and seemed to fix my issue. Thanks for the big help!
Glad to help, hope it's all working correctly now. Thermal expansion in 1.12 causes so many weird random issues sometimes. If you're doing ore processing via xnet, be aware that the dusts from it will all register as the same item to it's filters. I think you need to turn on nbt filtering in xnet to separate them out, but it's been two years.
@@Ardcraft awesome thanks, I did most with enderIO and will only do more complicated things with xnet as it saves massively on channel
For progression in Spectrum, its best to take a look at the Specrrum guidebook and the entries marked with the orange dot, or the Spectrum advancement tabs. The quests in Statech are... sometimes confusing.
Thanks for the explanation, you helped me a lot since I'm playing SkyBlock with that and several other modpacks and I got stuck because I couldn't find a way to generate obsidian and energy automatically, really thank you very much, you helped me a lot hehehe
Glad you found it helpful. It’s always weird when a pack doesn’t include some other easy way to make obsidian. I’ve never seen this mod be used specifically for it before personally.
Using the quarry’s is an interesting idea. I just mined an inventory worth and set up the probe launching thing on the space station with two entangled chests. One for probes and one for the ores. I might use the quarries this go around.
For me, the quarry is the stop gap until I get the probes going. It was just the lazy way of not having to mine it myself.
