"Despite childbirth" doesn't sit well for some reason. Paul uses the same terminology for Decons in the church, yet Phoebe was a deconess, which many Bibles omit (not in the Hebrew text).

It seems unlikely that Paul would need to teach Timothy male-female relations after spending so much time with him (enough to call him his son in rhe faith). However, each of the points Paul brings out refute local teaching in Ephesus, especially in relation to the Artemis cult. See Beverly Gaventa, Sandra Glann, etc.

Dear nikolaosliandis2767, I'm thrilled to know that people are watching my content from Greece! Thank you for your thoughtful engagement with my video. I appreciate your comment. According to my research, the ESV, NASB, and KJV translators were comfortable translating euaggelizó as "preach" dozens of times throughout the New Testament, as seen here: biblehub.com/greek/2097.htm. Suppose you take a more conservative stance and disagree with their commonly-accepted translation methods (for example, perhaps you hold that only kérussó should be translated as "preach" and that they are wrong to translate euaggelizó as "preach"). In that case, I think you have an excellent reason for doing so. But the main point of my video is just that. People like you and the ESV, NASB, and KJV translators disagree, highlighting the complex nature of translating this original word and requiring more clarity when defining our terms. Once again, thank you for your contribution. I hope you have a fantastic day in Greece. I've heard it is a beautiful country! Always feel free to engage my content. I welcome all opinions on my channel, especially from other cultures.

The Bible says the man is the head of the household. The Bible states male headship very clearly. Woman was made for man to be his help mate. If it is that way in the way in the home, it does not seem likely the Lord would change things in His church. The Bible also says women are to be quiet in church. The Lord makes Himself pretty clear that in His mind women are to be protected and men are to be the protectors. We have all this freedom in America and have been taught women can do anything men can do and they can. But that is not the order that God had in mind when He created women and since He is the Creator, He is the Ruler and we need to abide by His authority.

Each individual is responsible for their own sins. God showed us the right and the wrong path, why choose the wrong one and wait for someone else to make it right for you???

Dear @@dboutine, Thank you so much for your comment. The fact that Jesus died for me does not make me want to continue my sin. In fact, as a true believer, the fact that Jesus died for me when I was a sinner creates in me a more profound desire to love and obey him. You are absolutely right that no true Christian would ever use the cross as an excuse to continue in sin (Romans 6:2). You are also right to say that God has shown us the right path, and, as a person who follows Jesus, I believe faith in Jesus is that path (John 14:6). Thank you again for your comment, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Servant and deacon are two different words. Servant can mean anything. She can be a servant of the church by simply feeding the people and caring for them faithfully, By praying for them, etc. We can’t automatically replace the word “servant” with deacon. If we did that then we could replace it with, worship leader, preacher, etc. A deacon is a servant of the church. But a servant of the church doesn’t have to be a deacon.

Children need their mamas to raise them properly, teach them about the Lord and sing hymns to them. That is quite the task all on it's own. So many children are being neglected because their mothers are too busy with other things and that brings their mothers to shame. 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. Proverbs 29:15 - The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame. Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

It pays to read and study the King James Bible. Women should teach the word of God to their children and teach other women how to be sober, love their husbands and children. Just because a woman is capable of doing something, doesn't mean that it's God's will. Titus 2:3-5 King James Version 3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. 1 Timothy 5:13-14 King James Version 13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not. 14 I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully. 1 Timothy 2:11-15 King James Version 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Timothy 3:2-5 King James Version 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 1 Timothy 3:8-13 King James Version 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

1 Corinthians 11:3-12 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. 1 Timothy 2:11-15 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

@@zSwS The woman was made for the man and the man is supposed to be the woman's protector. When women are rebellious and take things into their own hands, they tend to become deceived and sin, just as Eve did. I think that we can both agree that women are definitely intelligent but it is still as plain as day, there is no such thing as women preachers in the Bible. Women can witness to others and teach their own children, even teach women good things (such as how to be a good wife, mother and keeper at home) but that is not the same as being a preacher. 1 Corinthians 11:9 KJV - Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man. Genesis 3:16 KJV - Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

@Believe_in_Jesus_now Yet there are fewer men that rely not on their own understanding than there are women who need a godly man. Women started stepping in because men got complacent and lazy. Men are who women look to to lead them. A vast majority of men are too busy arguing in and about the present world to discern the times. More and more are being led astray, and we still do nothing about it. So, while you are correct in saying women should not be preaching, are you prepared to step in so they don't feel like they have to? Like I said previously. Women will understand the message of the gospel in a shorter time than a man will. They still need a man to explain it. A woman will understand in a year what it took a man to understand in twenty. Yet for that woman to be able to understand in a years time, a man needs to have spent twenty years learning. They are dependent on us while we, in turn, are dependent on Christ to lead. So if there are few to no women that understand the gospel, what does that say about us?

Thanks Erin! You are awesome! Loved your answers so clear and thanks for the translations from Greek and all the verses to back it up. I would love more info on deaconesses if you feel you are able. I know some have a hard time with the idea of a woman as a deacon. When I grew up deacons and elders always seemed to be a similar or same type of office in the church. But the Bible’s definition seems to be contrary to that idea. So the idea of a woman deaconess sounds odd. How has church culture put this office in such a different category? Also you can always count on me with those controversial questions. 🤪 LOL

Hey Erin! Love your videos! We doing a study in our church about women’s role in the church. Such as can women baptize, be an elder or Deacon, or even hold a pastoral office. What is the difference between teaching and pastoring/preaching? What does the Bible say about these similarities and differences between these terms. Can women teach men? If yes why and how? If not why not? What is the biblical verses that back these up?
