The Holy Spirit choir

In March 2012, the pastor of Saint Dominic’s Parish, Fr. Michael Nguyễn Văn Bắc, OP proposed that the Parish should have a Sunday Mass in English and asked Fr. Joseph Nguyen Duc Hoa, OP to form a choir for that purpose. Realizing that this is a real pastoral need of foreign tourists and foreigners working in Hochiminh City as well as of many parishioners who are students who want to have a Mass in English, Fr. Joseph started to invite those knowing English in and out of the Parish to join the English choir. Surprisingly, after two weeks of announcement more than a hundred registered. The next step was to find a choir conductor who has good knowledge of solfege and experience in choir conducting and mastery of the English language. Fr Francis Xavier Nguyen Van Nhut, OP who has just completed his studies in the Philippines has all these three qualifications and, at the request of Fr. Joseph, he accepted to be the conductor for the English choir of the Parish.
