Been in Danville for 25 olus years. I was able to raise 3 children in this town. Having live in NYC and Richmond i must admit this is a great place to raise a family. Danville is like other cities, but it is what you make it.

Talk about the jobs that will allow you to stay there.

Danville, Virginia, is like any other city or town. It's a nice place to live as long as you stay away from the bad areas, or you might get shot.

Thanks for the informative video. Is there work? You mentioned manicured lawns. I have a lawn service in NC and would like to semi retire. Are there lots of lawn services - professional lawn services? Are there enough nice homes to support that type of business? How about other types of work? How hilly is the land? I saw a property with several acres. Is it likely it all usable or could be steep hillside? Thank you.

Been living here 47 years and about to leave for the mountains. Most schools are not even accredited. That's why the Genral assembly allowed Danville to have the Cascino. No large high paying companies will locate here. sorry uneducated students. The Goodyear plant here is steadily going to pots. I retired from there 15 years ago. 75% people in the city are on welfare. If you move here, good luck. Oh, don't get sick and go to the hospital. We have ghetto care here.

Chatham Virginia is absolutely beautiful and an excellent place if you want the small town feeling with friendly neighbors. I know because I went to school there at Hargrave Military Academy where I met lifelong friends. Many years later we are still in contact. We would have dances with the girls School "Chatham Hall" just down the road. Chatham Hall is another prestigious private school for girls and also where the movie "crazy people" was filmed with Daryl Hannah and Dudley Moore to name a few back in 89. Thank you for making this video and taking me down memory lane with all the wonderful times and memories we all shared in Chatham Virginia.

Hey, do you have any data regarding how much cheaper Danville is than Virginia Beach? I am considering relocating from VB to take a job in South Boston. I don't want to live in SB though 🤣. Was considering moving to Danville and commuting to South Boston.

Needs a BRAND NEW POLICE DEPT. DOUBLE IN SIZE. A BEAUTIFUL CITY WAY BACK IN THE FIFTIES. DAN RIVER MILLS RUINED Danville by allowing other new businesses . So when the mills closed, there were too few other businesses to keep people in Danville. Now it is pitiful , plus the Hospital is and has been aweful from the get go.
