This is entirely amazing. SdV is a fun example of a piece that is MUCH more skillfully composed but somehow not as evocative as its predecessor. Even though it is technically a far better piece (and so beautifully played here), it is somehow not as good as Baba Yetu. Music can be weird.

I remember, as a kid, we had a VHS recorder downstairs and a beauty and the beast cassete, which I rewinded at the prologue again and again, because I liked the melody so much. Upstairs we had an out of tune piano. After listening to a tiny bit, I paused, ran upstairs and tried to recreate what I had just listened to. Over, and over again. I failed miserably! Good memories. 30 years ago. Damn.
