Blender 4.3 Experimental Branch - Accelerated Geometry Nodes Physics!
มุมมอง 1.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Been wanting something like this for a long time and it's looking like we might get it. Branch info and boilerplate nodes: devtalk.blender.org/t/experiment-rigid-body-physics-in-geometry-nodes/35428 Branch: projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/124093 You can also use Blender Launcher v2 to download and install the branch directly, look for PR124093

Blender 3.6 Simulation Tutorial: Toon / Anime Style Smears with Geometry Nodes!
มุมมอง 54Kปีที่แล้ว
.blend node screenshot drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uZ4eCo6rVwS2LSexAQNEBGvaluqaUVL5 A lot of people on Twitter wanted a tutorial for this effect! Sorry it took me so long to do it 😅 This is the first tutorial I've ever made so hopefully you found this useful and easy(ish) to follow. If you have any questions drop a comment and I'll do my best to help you out🧡
I've been following this tutorial, but the smearisn't behaving properly. The transition aren't smoothing they way they should, and it looks very jittery. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
perhaps your playback mode is set to frame dropping instead of play every frame?
@@ashlee3dee I doubt it, but I'll mess around in settings to see if that fixes it :) Thank you
@@ashlee3dee Just messed around in settings. Everything looks normal. Playback is set to Play Every Frame, still getting the same problem :(
@@nerderonofficial hm. the only thing i can think, is that perhaps your parameters are wrong. i never had an issue with jittering unless the parameters were set to some weird values
Is there a way to apply this effect to rigged characters? It would be nice to add this to animated characters in action scenes
if you go on my channel and select the community tab there is a post explaining it :)
@@ashlee3dee Oh, thanks, I'll check it out 😀
Hey! I’m trying to align an objects rotation so that it always points in the direction of velocity, ie an arrow flying through the air, how would I do that?? Thanks!
Hello, I would like to ask why the skeletal animation cannot use your method. When I add geometric nodes, the skeletal animation stops moving.
Чорт, який же ж це крутий ефект
If you make a hair curves collision system, i'll buy it.
Interesting
The few people that are starting to push RBD solvers into geometry nodes are Absolute Legends!
wow
Hi! i cant seemt o make this work with my rigged character and im confused as how to integrate it, is there something I am missing?
That looks fun!
Can you make a Tutorial please?
Blendini.
@@dickie_hrodebert were getting there >:)
sooo coool!
Magnito when he can't Cary very well
Hope this gets implemented into Blender🤞
@@IamSH1VA me too! It will be incredibly useful
how to make it so smears affect only a part of the mesh tho?
Make a vertex group and paint the regions you want to have smears white. You can get the value of the vertex group m with a named attribute node. Your options are: use it as the selection input for the set position node, or using a scale node before the offset input to the set position node. Basically just creating a mask for where it is/isn't.
Wow amazing work!. I love how it looks totally like a 2d animation and I forget that it's all in 3d! Can't imagine how many nodes went into this :)
Hello, I have a problem when I apply it in character animation or with armatures, it works, I need help
that cloud spiral looks incredible. Any chance you'll show us a tutorial or a little more behind the scenes?
Oh yeah we goin fast with this one bois
Okay, so, I applied the effect to a suzanne, like yours, to get it working and then I added it to the character I mentioned. It doesn't respond. BUT, I do think there might be a solution. According to the manual, the position node samples every point of the mesh's position, which should work post rig, but I don't know if it can be successfully sampled using the simulation zone, thing... Too new to geonodes. The question becomes: - Simulating position node (for every point after a rig) - Applying transform to Geometry (if possible with current nodeset). Will do my best to see what I can come up with - no promises, LOL.
The problem is geometry nodes 'freezes' its inputs so the mesh is not being updated. You'll need to sample by index from the group input path and update the position within the simulation zone. It feels weird and bad
@@ashlee3dee I tried it in every configuration I could imagine, LOL, nothing. It updates, but not to the armature. In other words, it spikes on frame one and they die off over a few frames and that's it.
Weird sometimes what the algorithm recommends, but now that I’ve seen it: I dig the style, I really do, it has this kind of early 2000s anime cgi style to it, which I mean in a good way. The whole color balance / atmosphere is working, the clouds and their moving speed sell the scale of the shot. Two observations: I think the flags should be smaller and a bit more varied (tear some of them up or so), and adjust their exposure, I think they could be darker. Same goes to the birds, the perceived velocity works nice, but they are too big, too bright and too few. Also the wings should flap faster, with some gliding breaks in between maybe. Anyway, good work, keep it up, I think your stuff is interesting! Subscribe!
Thank you for compliments and all the feedback! You echoed some of my own thoughts about the piece so it's nice to have confirmation. Perhaps I'll do another pass :)
Unsub. Bye!
Sorry to hear that. Any particular reason?
@@ashlee3dee Actually, I've waited a long time for you to release another tutorial video using Blender like your first one, but it seems you have stopped making those. So, I've decided to stop following you. That's all.
@@ashlee3dee Everyone thinks him self ı subed btw you are great doing all these and you should keep going ➡➡➡🌟
this rules!
Yooooo!!!🔥
LOVE THIS!! I looked into how to do something like this when they took out the slow parent functionality. Gonna share with the BNPR group - they're gonna flip too!! Can't wait to try this - I actually have a character this needs to go on!! Well done!
super cool!
no way! tutorial or breakdown incoming?? ci vous plait, youre super talented keep it up!
tutorial for the space background?👉👈
make a tutorial
hmmm perhaps! a lot of my projects are too big to make a tutorial without introductory courses. this particular effect might be simple enough to tutorialize
Any body know a way to modify this to imitate inertia or jiggle physics? Would be super helpful for a project I'm working on.
this must be the fabled AAAA gaming graphics i keep hearing about
WHAAAT!? MAGIC!
That's super cool
the fabled blender game engine
this looks so insanely good i need to know how you did it please make a tutorial i am begging
tutorial please please please
SUBSCRIBED! I needed this
I can't say it's useful, not only does the object react to the normal intersection, but it doesn't take into account the rotation of the object.
I'll add that I removed the normals by simple math and switching depending on the intersection of 0. And how to take into account the rotation in this example, I have not found, tried to use the node transformation geometry, first remove the rotation, and then add it after changing the vertices, but did not work, tried to rotate vectors, did not work, if anyone can tell me, I would be grateful.
this is a simple version, intended more as an exercise and learning opportunity for the viewer than a comprehensive guide on building the tool
Really great stuff. Very excited to try this technique. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Thank you a lot!! How I can learn to make more cool effects like this?
how yo apply this node to rigging model?
how to use this node in model with bone animation?
I followed your tutorial which was super helpful but it didn't cause smears when doing rotations to my Suzanne Monkey. If possible could you do an update part of the video or reply telling me if I may have missed something?
How do I add it to a model that is rigged?
Awesome
The way you explained everything even the vector math is amazing even a non-mathematician can understand easily! Waiting for more geonodes tutorials
