G's El Toro Loco Streamer
Streamer fishing is one of my favourite things to do here in our home waters in Alberta. Fishing streamers means lots of casting so with that in mind, I wanted to have a streamer that I would be able to throw all day and be able to have tied in a multitude of colors for a reasonable price. Thus, the El Toro Loco was born. I hope y'all enjoy it!
*DISCLAMER*
I realize that in the video there is no glue being used to attach all the materials and that is only because I ran out just that morning. You should always try to give a little extra insurance to your fly's durability with some super glue.

Fly Tying Tutorial: Tying the Avalon Permit Fly
มุมมอง 1.3Kปีที่แล้ว
This past week, a few customers with saltwater trips have asked about tying saltwater flies, specifically the Avalon. The Avalon Permit fly has quickly risen to being the top fly for Permit fishing in Cuba. The fly was originally created by Mauro Ginervi, and worked tirelessly on creating a fly that would swim true and would not turn when stripped. In addition to the larger than normal appearan...
Fly Tying Tips & Tricks: The Whip Finish
มุมมอง 260ปีที่แล้ว
The whip finish. The most important piece in fly tying. Without this knot, flies would unravel and the time you spent tying your materials on would be wasted. Because flies are typically tied with one continuous strand, the whip finish is the final piece of the puzzle. In this short video, we’ll go over the technique on how to finish your own flies. Fly Tying Tutorial: Tying A Grillos' El Camino Skwala
มุมมอง 9442 ปีที่แล้ว
The El Camino was created by one of my favourite and most respected fly-tyers, Andrew Grillos. Andrew has several patterns tied commercially and chances are you’ve probably fished one or two. This Skwala pattern has an awesome low-riding profile, sitting lower in the water than other similar foam patterns. For Yellow Stones, substitute a few colours and you have yet again, a killer stonefly pat...

Interesting patern. From the opening picture i thought the head was from mop fly material. Does that amout of foam make this pattern float or be neutral?

I have this, and have been using it like crazy, usually in conjunction with a longer tool that prevents the loop from casually spinning when I let go ove it. Its my opinion that the little hook deal needs to be longer. Or they need a version that is longer.
