When we were doing street photography in that class I actually won a national contest operated by Digital Photo. It was taken for the class. That magazine is no longer published but I got $1800 in awards including $500 cash plus merchandise and software. Several of us were getting accepted into juried exhibits using pictures from the class.

Nice edits. In the second photo, I likely would have attempted to address the flower's spot imperfections by first using Photoshop's Remove tool instead of the Clone and Heel tools. The Remove tool is typically very effective and easy to use in my opinion.
