The Gabil Tripod with the CHA MPAS Lite. It's my first video, so go easy on me. LOL. Gabil Tripod a.co/d/hymdPlG CHA MPAS Lite chameleonantenna.com/shop-here/ols/products/mpas-lite
GuitarFetish is very scammy business. Bought a defective unplayable SBS guitar (bad neck angle and too shallow tret edges) and they charged me $60 shipping to return it. They pointed towards their policy saying it doesn't matter what condition the guitar is in. Any company with that policy are aware they're selling very cheap and defective product.
Got a first run MS-260... frets are tiny, and I swapped the Floyd Rose Special for a Schaller LockMeister... it sounds killer. Guitar Fetish blocked me on X tho 😅
plug it in and ROCK
the price anymore for a german OFR is about the same price as these guitars.. No thanks. Gotohs I think are better and a little over a hundred bucks.. that's what mine is getting
I put heavier trem springs in mine and added a trem stop so the bar only goes down, not up. I got all my parts from FU. It plays even better now, but I liked it immediately out of the box.
I’ve got medium springs on mine now. It helps with the de-tuning problem all floating trems have when you bend strings. Less palming I have to do to keep things in tune.
Thanks for this....I will be rocking my stock SBS Showroom Series on tour
Just ordered one, cant wait! Does yours have that Low E buzz that Phil noted on his deep dive?
Mine didn’t. But I didn’t play the strings that came on it for very long before changing them out. I usually play 8.5 or 9 gauge strings, so I had to re-setup the guitar. I do that with every guitar I buy no matter what the price is.
YOU FORGOT TO PLAY IT❕🤣🤣🎸
I know. But there’s tons of videos on how it sounds and plays that do more justice than I can. I didn’t change the pickups or any other electronics. I just changed a few things mechanical to increase stability in my opinion. And increase is the key word. The guitar straight out of the box is more stable than a JEM Jr. that you would pay more for.
I have 2x modded Jrs. Both have been fitted with original Floyd Rose Trem Posts and Gotoh Power Springs. The Floyd Posts are harder than the Special/1000 Series variants and I agree with your theory re: hard & soft metals wearing together. One Jr has the Stock Tremolo fitted with a fat Brass Block and a Floyd Rose push-fit Tremolo Arm. The other has A Gotoh GE1996T and no shims have been fitted. I have an equally low action (1.4mm Low E & 1.1mm High E @ 12th fret) and great tuning stability on both guitars
The thing with the Gotoh trem being a smaller radius. The low E and high E action could be set to your liking, but the A, D, G, and B might feel odd since their action height doesn’t follow the same radius.
Thank you for commenting!
@@heavymetalham I understand that it might look like a huge radius mismatch but in practise the difference in string heights between the two guitars is absolutely negligible. The thing that made the greatest difference to each Jr was to slim (4mm thinner from 1st to 17th fret) and reprofile ("D" to shallow "C") the back of the neck, scallop frets 21-24 and give the whole neck an Oil/Wax finsh. They now feel better than my Japanese Jems 😇 Fretwork on both was great 'out of the box' (maybe I was lucky there...
@@ThePedroDB how much relief do you have in the neck?
@@heavymetalham 0.2mm @12th Fret. Capo on 1st fret. Pressed down @24th fret
I'm interested if you have any updates on the MPAS and tripod setup with the radials. What length did you cut the radials to?
I have made up three different sets of radials to test. I have a couple camping trips planned in late April to do my testing. Thanks for watching!
