slowed down 45 times LOL brax kills me
😂
Have you done a Zip Line?
Have you ever done a Mountain Coaster?
BTW... Is the park still owned by someone in the Davis family?
I’m not sure.
When I camped there ~1980, the tree were saplings. Wow am I old. I was a tent camper who used it as my base while hiking Franconia ridge and other mountains. I always choose site no.146. Spent 2 weeks at a time.
It has definitely changed a lot since then, but it’s still a beautiful location.
It all depends on your needs. If you are only going to camp 4-6 times a season and you don't need much space or fancy features, you can save about $17K by building your own, have no payment and more money for adventures.
👍
Why didn't you just cut the top of the garage door out and replace it back later. You could make a tempory for your build and closing the door, then once out you can replace the original.
Cost, HOA, house structural integrity, permits… the beam over the garage door is load bearing and holds up the entire roof over the garage and front of the house.
Very professional review. All the hard work shows!! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it!
How much cover heat all trailer
I’m not sure what your asking. It’s a 9,000 BTU unit to heat 180 SF. We like to keep it at 70 degrees.
This is my home park. I hate that you never got to ride Thunder Road nor Borg (Nighthawk). I also have the same passes and you’re correct it’s the best investment and I think Top Gun in the back is the best. Hurler sucks, totally agree- wish they would just RMC it but that’s not happening
We are heading back in 2025 as we loved the park so much. Unfortunately we will never get to experience Nighthawk as it’s being torn out I guess. Twisted Timbers at Kings Dominion was an insane experience knowing it used to be Hurler. Wish Carowinds would do something similar.
LOL! I love all the coaster ride photos. Fun to see those!
I love this park! So many good rides!
Thanks for sharing! The lovely times with your family means everything! Stay safe and may God continue to bless you and yours!
Thank you so much! We appreciate your kind words.
Whats the oldest coaster you have ever been on?
Cyclone at Luna Park in Coney Island. Must do. You all will love it.
@@WaysaandMeanshaven’t been there yet but will add it to the list, thanks!
They also have adapters to bring the valve out
I tried 3” aluminum extenders from Amazon but after 4k miles, they cracked the valve stem and I had to get new stems installed on the inner tires.
@HomeMeetsRoad man that's unfortunate we use steel for semi trucks when I worked at travel center of America never had a issue..they would break because people forgot to be easy removing the wheel or remove the stem first
@@Carlos-ip2ir so the dumb thing is that the interior wheels have rubber stems while the outer ones have steel/aluminum (not sure). Next tire change I will have them change the intters to better stems maybe that will allow me to use extenders again.
We love Knoebels. We go there at least once per year. Now that we have the RV, we camp on site and it's awesome.
How is the campground there?
@HomeMeetsRoad on site is electric only. So you have to fill your fresh tank and dump when you leave. But we enjoyed it a lot for a 3 day weekend. Not too expensive either and they run free shuttles from the campsites to the park. They also have a 2nd RV park about 10min away with full hookups and shuttles to the park. 👍🏻
Good to know! Thanks!
My parents took us when I was little. I don’t remember much about it .
It’s an interesting park.
Have you been to Knoebels?
Great video thanks
Hope you got some good info out of it!
I've been over that last 20 years. This biggest trash ppl leave on the beach are Elon Musk project.
That’s interesting, as every time we were there, the space community has done cleanups regularly. They were some of the most advocated folk for keeping the beaches clean.
Have you ever been to Hershey, if so, whats your favorite ride?
there's a reason for the paperwork, its lots, but all legal stuff, no noise, no loose pets, you'd be surprised some people wanna be the noisy crowd, but isla blanca wants to keep all happy, i love it the last 10 years i rented there, no complaints, once you get used to going to office first, then its a breeze,
Agreed.
I just installed 6 Falken Wildpeak HT02 HD tires on my 2022 Ram Laramie Mega Cab dually. These are highway tires. They are well priced and are super quiet on the road. You can get them at Discount Tire, or through many other retailers. Good luck with your search! One of my OEM Nexen tires blew out at 29,000 miles, so you may want to factor that into your decision. Our 5th wheel has a GVWR of 14,040, so you're RV is much heavier than ours. Enjoyed your video!!!
We ended up with Michelin LTX on the truck and Sailun 637 on the trailer.
So now the million dollar question. What is the interior height from floor to ceiling???
84”
@@HomeMeetsRoad Oh wow! So at 6’7”, I could still stand up in it. The other million dollar question is do you have to have a CDL to tow that?
@@JasonLawrence-bn6ilRV’s are personal vehicles and do not require a CDL. You can even buy a Semi and register it for personal use (you know the stickers in the doors, not for hire) BUT this does depend on your state as each state may have a different weight limit.
@@HomeMeetsRoad Thanks for the info, because as you probably guessed, I’m seriously considering the full time RV lifestyle within the next year or so.
@@JasonLawrence-bn6il You are welcome and good luck! If you have any more questions, let me know! If you have Discord, I recommend to join @Five2Go Discord as they are one of the biggest full-time RV communities.
This is where I want to watch my first Strarship launch. I hope you do not need an RV to spend the day there?
You can enter the park without an RV. They do charge for vehicles but if you walk in, it’s free.
Thank you
Note this video is a couple years old and I head some things have changed.
Glad y’all enjoyed my home park! Been visiting this place for almost 20 years and I love it! Amazing rides and great food (Twisted Timbers is my personal favorite there)
Kings Dominion was amazing! Looking forward to returning next year for Rapterra!!!
Der letzte Coaster sieht spassig aus :-)
Ha, no! 😆
Great review! We will definitely stay there based on your description.
This was years ago. I hope the review still holds true.
I have not been there since I was a kid . . . we won't talk about how long ago that was. I do remember the Grizzly coaster but most of the rest of them likely were not there when I used to go.
I believe Grizzly and Racer 75 are originals from when the park opened.
@@HomeMeetsRoad I had to go look it up after you said that. You are correct but I knew Racer 75 under it's original name ;) I had no idea they renamed it. I assumed they had just gotten rid of it. The kiddie coaster, the Woodstock one may have been there when I was a kid too. But it would have been under a Hanna-Barbera name back then. I believe it was Scooby-Doo themed. That would have been my first coaster and Racer 75 my second.
@@elisabethairey3447 Oh I didn't know they changed the name but it makes sense. Racer 75 wouldn't be a special name back in 75 😆 So was Grizzly your third coaster then or did you go to another park before riding it?
@@HomeMeetsRoad Grizzly would have been my third. :) Then my parents were done with amusement parks, I went to some other parks in high school (Hershey and six flags) but now Disney World is our home park ;)
@@elisabethairey3447 Next video is Hershey! Haven't done any Six Flags... not this year.
Brax casually saying he almost threw up after the first ride 😂😂😂
haha! Yea, he is a character.
OMG 😱 that looks like so much fun!!!!! I wanna come with!!!
We will see you soon on some coasters!!!
Have you been on an RMC? If so, which one is your favorite?
Iron Gwazi. You can argue Steel Vengeance, but the pace and elements are so much better on Gwazi. In my opinion
@@WaysaandMeansspoiler alert. Done both Steel Vengeance and Iron Gwazi. I love both but SteVen wins for me but only for the night ride. It’s such a different beast at night.
@@HomeMeetsRoad I can see that playing a role. I also think it’s the amount of joy you get in Steel Vengeance over Gwazi. This is what makes it a great debate. I haven’t ridden Vengeance at night so you may have a serious point
@@WaysaandMeansAgain, spoiler alert: the videos have not caught up to Cedar Point (I’m behind big time). One day, we opened CP on SteVen, and it was a great ride, but nothing above the other RMCs. That same day, we closed the park on SteVen, and let me tell you, it was NOT the same coaster! It’s everything. The cold breeze off the lake on your way up. The smell of the locomotive on your way down. Pitch black except for the illuminated wooden beams. You could feel anger from the hot tracks. It was a coaster experience unlike any other. This makes me wonder how many coasters have that exact change over a day's worth of hard work. I haven’t done Gwazi at night, but it’s on my bucket list!
@@HomeMeetsRoad trust me, I agree, vengeance is something serious. Totally next level. RMC wise, it feels like Gwazi was an attempt to make it a top tier and you can tell
Have you been to Kings Dominion? Whats your favorite coaster? Most say Project 305.
SWEET
Thanks!
You ever heard of a jack 😂 and blocks 😅 wish i had more money than brains lmao not
Help me understand. This video is over five years old. Why Jack and blocks? For what? The trailer was on blocks while in the garage getting the work done. A jack was used to get it into position. What am I missing?
I just re-watched the video, and I’m honestly not following what you are referring to. I put the trailer on blocks the minute I had part of the frame exposed, and then I was able to remove the factory jacks on the trailer. I realize that in the video, I said I had 12” of clearance above the trailer, which I thought I had, but once I started to jack the trailer up, the garage door opener was in the way. That was the most room I could give myself to work on this thing. Remember HOA… I couldn’t work on it outside. It’s funny you think I had money. I did this because I had no money. I couldn’t afford an RV. I built this thing on a credit card, gambling on the hopes I made enough on the house sale to pay it back.
5 years too late, but how much did it affect your tongue weight?
The A/C unit? It’s lighter than the two propane tanks that used to be there.
Very good work. Well thought out You read my mind on insul R - tech product. Very little heat transfer. Great thought on wrapping tanks as well. I would venture a guess, that The fiberglas under lay for noise, weather proofing, and lower wind resistance when driving was worth the aggrevation in the long run. Your care in building is far better than industry making money building them. Thanks for the video and commentary.
Wrapping the tanks made a huge difference. 8 degree windchill and never had a tank freeze.
We ended up with a odd number site, and the water hole was right next to the $#!+#0l3 !
Thanks!
You bet!
So good! I love seeing you all having a blast. ❤
Was a good park with great coasters!
1 star rating with the addendum of most painfullest ride? DULY NOTED😂😂😂
Haha! We have found worse since then 🥴
How is it going?- this is pro ! 📽
Good you?
Have you been to Bush Gardens Williamsburg? If so, which coaster was your favorite? If you say Alpengeist... I will cry 😭
Alpengiest is definitely top 3 ;-;
@@ElliottFriendlich hopefully we can go back next year and it will be open. It looks like one epic invert!
Wonderful video. You guys did a great job. Carowinds is our home park, we live in suburban Charlotte about 30 minutes away. We and our 4 adult kids (28-33) and 2 granddaughters (5/8) have annual passes, have had them for years. Go there about 1-3 times per week. Can't want to see how Six Flags does the all park passes so we can experience a lot of the other parks in the chain now that the merger is over. What's is your home park?
Awesome! Carowinds is amazing! We are a bit behind on videos. We just finished our sixth park on this trip, and Carowinds is at the top. Spoiler alert: We are not doing any of the Six Flags on this trip due to the timing and cost of passes. We hope to do a Six Flags trip next year, and yes, we are interested to see how the merge will affect annual passes. We are full-time RVers, so our only home is the one we tow. We winter in Orlando, so Universal and Disney are our home parks.

Video was from winter of 2020 to 2021.
Going for the 1st time tomorrow through Tuesday. 🎢
Oh! I’m jealous! Spoiler alert: we just completed our 6th park on this trip (I’m a bit behind on videos 😂), and Carowinds is at the top! Report back which coasters you liked!
We stayed there a couple years ago, nice place but we had a few issues with our site. The electricity wasn’t working in several sites and the attendant wasn’t very helpful at all. Kind of run down and neglected as well. Otherwise nice place.
Same.
I like the Braxton infographic nice touch!
Haha! Let’s be real, his opinion is the one that matters 😆
Have you been to Carowinds and if so, which was your favorite coaster?
The thunder striker of course
@@Newchannels9u Thats a good coaster!
My favorite is Afterburn. I always sit in the middle or back. To me it's the best inverted coaster in the country, just behind Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa. Very close 2nd at Carowinds is Copperhead Strike. So fun. But I'm 59 and know my body won't be able to take it for an indefinite number of years, lol. But it's great. My favorite coaster at any park is Hagrids Motorbikes at Islands of Adventure. Just can't say enough about it.
@@yesorlando05 All great coasters! Hagrids is the one that really stared our coaster journey.
